I’ve seen so many of the videos from the 2011 tsunami. Honestly it’s devastating to watch them and wonder how scared they must have been. Especially the ones trapped in the actual flow of water.

I actually helped out in one of my local churches with some of the tsunami relief up there in sendai and ishinomaki japan back when I was living in tokyo. The actual devastation and impact was catastrophic. To this day they're still building from it. We heard a story from one of the local ladies and she told us that during the tsunami the water was rising up their house and she was holding both her kids from falling in the water and was only able to choose and save one. Even years after you can see the water line and bent poles and mud in some houses or fish. From the first impact only one house remained standing in the city most directly hit by the tsunami. You can see before and after pictures and at one point it was a mild sized harbor city and after....literally almost looked like a desert

oh yeah and the after shocks of the earthquake are very very scary. We were sleeping there and one day a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit. Which is also large enough to create a tsunami if it was in the ocean. Fortunately no one was injured or killed and no tsunami hit from that earthquake

A tornado party: A tornado party is where all of the tenants of an apartment building gather in the bottom most or basement apartment to watch the news and wait out the storm. It is considered appropriate to grab snacks to share on the way down, and often I have seen people bring their own dinners that were cooking and it become a pot luck. A tornado party can also be a BBQ thrown by residents of an unprotected building or trailer park during a storm. Which is a consignment to the fact that with no where to go you are screwed anyway so might as well go out having a good time.

I think that it is humans that are scary, they misuse nature like splitting the atom that is a powerful, but instead of advancing medical field they used it to advance the killing field, nuclear bombs now are becoming the most evil things, I asked God why atomic bombs weren't in the bible then I researched the word power and found Daniel chapter 8: verses 23 to the end of the chapter! In part of reads that a fierce looking king in the distant future would stand up. His power would become great, but not through his own power, He would bring ruin in an extra ordinary way of as the footnote to this verse says he would bring terrible destruction, and mighty ones to ruin and that he would 'use deception to succeed, He will even stand up against the Prince of princes but he will be broken without human hand.' !! Now that is scary but only for this world's rulers. The power not his own could be the atom that belongs to God Jehovah. There are so many other examples of the bible showing us that we are living in the time that Jehovah will set matters straight regarding the earth and it's climate change, along with peoples viewpoints He actually says they "They will have to know that I am Jehovah!" I long for that day very soon to happen! not by humans hands !!..exciting not scary. Xxx

Having lived all over the world, I've been through just about everything, but by FAR the scariest has been tornados. Been through multiple, catigories 1--4 (almost a 5.) Felt like the scene in the Wiz of Oz. Literally sucked the color out of everything, I swear! In Virginia, we had one that didn't even register. Never saw it because it was so sunny...just felt it. Touched down for less than a minute, but was enough to cause my neighbors barn to collapse. Lifted me off the ground only a few inches, but enough to cause the worst panic/fear I've ever known. It also made my lifelong superpower wish to fly obsolete.😢

The Slovak couple were *extremely* lucky. Trees going down like that is normally a sure sign that a landslide is about to happen, as in the Swiss video. Had the slide actually been deep enough to actually start moving down the mountain rather than just knocking trees over, they would have been buried alive. I live in part of the area that's called "Tornado Ally" in Oklahoma. Tornado's are frightening yet mesmerizing. They are extremely fascinating an unpredictable. In 1999 a EF5 (a mile wide!) was coming right at us, suddenly it shifted and hit less than 1/4 mile over. I will never forget that God awful noise. A woman had taken cover shielding her infant. The mother was sucked up, thrown, and killed. A little bit later a police officer found that womans baby in a tree, she survived. Her Momma did everything she could to save her. One of my classmates lived in a upstairs apartment, they ran downstairs to take cover, they lost everything. When they were able to try and save what they can my classmate said it ripped the roof off and sucked most of their furniture out. When he went to his room his dresser was in tact and everything on top of it was still there. He had taken his wallet, keys, his watch and $0.50 cents and placed it on his dresser. Everything was still where he left it. I didnt believe him at first but a couple weeks later he brought pictures they took for insurance, everything was still there. It was crazy.

"Thus says The Lord God: Whom shall I send? Who will go for Me? There is no more time to tarry. The day is far spent, and the sun is setting upon this age of men. Husbandmen, go out and gather. For the wheat is already bundled, and who is able to loose it? Neither man nor beast is able; behold, nothing in all creation is able to separate that which The Lord has bound together. Therefore, My sons, go out and gather up the remnant, even every last grain which has fallen to the ground. Gather it up quickly before the storm comes, where the winds shall blow, the hail shall beat down, and the rains shall overflow, erode and wash away. Behold, the field shall be left in ruins, in much disarray, unrecognizable to those who look upon it. And what of that which is left? Will not the birds of the air come and consume, and the beasts of the field devour, until nothing of the crop remains? For the time has indeed come for The Lord to stretch out His hand against the wicked, for The God of Heaven to visit the earth. Behold, I shall visit in My wrath and come like a storm! And as a great whirlwind of fire, I shall consume all this wickedness from the face of the earth! For the nations have raged against Me, and the people refuse to give glory to My name. Yet of sin, this they uphold! Thus they shall perish with much shouting, when I cause the earth to rise up and fight against them, until deep and heavy silence covers them and their wickedness is no more before My face! Behold, even in these lands, you call California and Nevada, shall it begin. For they have become as a great river, A RIVER OF SIN, an unending source of abominations, murder and licentiousness! Even that which Sodom and Gomorrah had done pales compared with that brought forth of them! Therefore, My servants, BLOW THIS TRUMPET!... Shout to the masses, by all Manner of speaking and devices!... For you hold The Key to Salvation in your hearts, And there He is within your understanding... SHOUT HIS NAME!" ~ "LIFE HAS A NAME! The Beginning and The End has walked among you! The Source and The Reason is here, and shall also come in great power and glory! From Him did you come forth, and to Him must you return, all you, His beloved. Behold, His names are many and wonderful![1] That which He is has no end, for as I AM so also is He! The Father and The Son are one, and our name, one - YAHUSHUA-YAHUWAH! In the beginning was The Word, and The Word Was with God, and The Word was God; The same was in the beginning with God... Through Him all things came into being, And nothing in all creation was made apart from Him... In Him was life, and The Life was the light of men; The Light shines in the darkness, And the darkness shall not overcome it... And behold, The Word became flesh... Immanu El!" ~ "For who can understand the knowledge of The Lord contained within creation, or know the depths of His wisdom?! Yet His Glory surrounds us on every side, testifying to His majesty beyond question! Indeed, we are without excuse! Behold, even the whole of creation shouts, “YAHUSHUA is YAHUWAH!” For it is He by whom all things consist, It is He who causes to be... For The Lord our God is One!"

What about the 2004 Thailand tsunami? It killed 230,000 people & decimated villages.

I'm surprised the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami isn't on here... that one seemed to be even more extreme than the 2011 one... the death toll was hundreds of thousands in total...

You didn't have to speed up the tsunami videos to try and make it more intense. They are powerful videos as they are, showing the seemingly slow but evidently unstoppable force of the ocean.

Curious now if the cars turning around at the wall of water in Japan made it to safety.

The actual clip is, iirc, slightly longer. The black car turned around and the street it followed, off the bottom of the screen, actually goes straight up a large hill. If it helps, I live in Japan and could read the Japanese place stamp that’s on the original, took me a while to find the area, but I did, the black car, at least, I would bet made it. But in the longer clip, there’s a car that takes a different direction, I’m sure they did not make it.

They're lucky it's only falling trees they got. When they fall like that it's usually because a landslide/mudslide is close behind.

It was hardly a normal day when the tsunami struck Japan. They had earlier suffered a 9.0 earthquake, for pity sake. Do you think they had sorta ignored that?
@fiberpoet6250
@fiberpoet6250 2 года назад
There wasn’t much time between the earthquake and the tsunami.. it was only 25 miles off the shore. Tsunamis can travel up to 100mph over open water. The were still reeling from the earthquake when the tsunami struck.

Normally you just get a few minutes of a headstart when an earthquake happens in a coastal area, and depending on where it happened, maybe in that area it wasn't that strong? Idk about them, but me, as a Chilean, if I ever feel the slightest quake while I'm in a coastal area, the first thing I do is to start heading uphill, and the second is to try and see how much the coastline receded, to know ho fast I need to run.

Falling trees and tornadoes happen often in Canada's 3 tornado alleys: Ontario-Quebec from Windsor to St-Georges de Beauce with Toronto Ottawa & Montreal in its path, Southern Manitoba to Saskatchewan Prairies, Alberta plains stretching from Coutts to Spedden. Rockies isn't any better, you gotta watch out for falling trees.

Christmas, 1964. I was standing on the side of that canyon of the Klamath river when boulders the size of volkswagens were tumbling downstream. The noise was deafening, the ground was shaking. There was enough water in the air to soak you, sun was shining. And it was steadily ongoing, like it wasnt going to stop. Anyone else see that?

2:08: consider this: while it’s cool to record video of a tornado, looking at it on the small screen as you capture it is almost certain to result in you issuing what’s actually occurring in reality around you. Might be better off watching the actual tornado, and you’d realize far sooner that it’s coming toward you

Love the short clips in the beginning where the mudslide was happening 😳😧😯 , She's watching this mudslide with her hands on her hips like DAMN !!! Not this again , as if it's happened a few times before and she's not worried about her safety 🤔🤫
