Saw them live on The Highway To Hell tour. And what a show it was. Angus is a one man show. Just give him his guitar and get out of the way. He's nonstop energy the entire show.
I agree with Malcolm he said that Angus truly has yet to get his just dues as a guitarist. I think his iconic showmanship as a performer has in a way overidden just how outstanding he is. Like SRV with the blues and how it flows right out of him, Angus has a similar ability but it's with rock and roll where he taps into a place very few people reach. It's something that I don't believe can be taught. I would consider him a phenom and possibly a prodigy who picked it up at 10. Wish we had recordings of him as a young teenager. Imo his playing is beyond so many of the shredders from the 80's. Just listen to the solos in Ride On where he was only around 20 when they recorded it. It's so mature sounding and his vibrato is out of this world. I consider him to have some of the greatest vibrato is rock history, and that's a technique that's harder to master than stuff like sweep picking. Bad Boy Boogie live from If You Want Blood is hauntingly perfect the way he's able to control the feedback and everything. Jailbreak from Donnington is another that mesmerized me as a kid when the VHS came out back in the day. Then you get a lead like what's in Chase the Ace that demonstrates how precise and on fire his playing was in the mid 80's. I've never heard a bad or mediocre solo from the guy. They all fit in the song like a glove.
Common knowledge those 5 facts. In interviews he tells how Malcom helped him in so many ways. Without Malcolm there'd be no Angus. He is truly awesome.
He also likes “beans and toast”! I only know this because I was sitting at the bar at the Brown Palace in Denver with my cousin getting hammered. When from behind me I hear someone order “beans and toast please”. I turn around and Angus is standing behind me. I invited him to have a seat, he did so and began telling stories. We were there until 4am with him. Great guy!
Fact no. 6 : Angus once said "People say we made 11 albums that sound exactly alike. That pisses me off. We've made 12 albums that sound exactly alike."
I won back in black album at my 1st school dance 1980, ive been hooked ever since , ive got ro see them 4 times, best concerts ever!! Ive had a few friends that said, man they just play the same 4 chords , my response " i dont give a shit! They rock every time 😂"
I met Angus and AC/DC crew back in 87 Blow up your video tour with Dokken supporting them in Wembley arena. Simon wright on drums back then. Angus is definitely very small chap. Great band and decent chaps too.
First time I heard Back in Black, the whole tape, was in the back of the bus, 5th grade. Then came Angus posters and a Gibson SG. He’s like my guitar father from abroad. 🤘🏻
I was in a hotel lobby here applying for work, I heard an accent behind me, when I turned around it was the whole band standing in the corner of the lobby! I knew who they were and walked by them on my way out. Yes they are all short!! 😮😮 They were in town recording.
Angus is 5’2”. It was Malcolm that was 5’3”. I once met Angus completely by serendipity (hotel breakfast). He was so kind, genuine and down to earth that I resolved to be more like him from that point on. Among other things, his love for Malcolm shone through. I joked with him that no-one would have predicted in the 1960’s that his brother Graham would end up being only the third most famous guitarist in his family…!
Angus, você é o pequeno gigante do Rock'n Roll! Tua guitarra tem 1OOO km de altura! 🎸🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 Provei isso no show da Ballbreaker anos atrás, aqui no Brasil! 🔊🔊🔊😀👂 Abraços de um fã brasileiro! 🇧🇷♥️🏴♥️🇦🇺
He's like a living battery, full of energy that HAS to released by bouncing all over giant stages. Single most energetic performer I've ever seen just fantastic 🤘
He borrowed the " Duck Walk" from Chuck Berry but I also heard a story about he kept tripping over cords while re-hearsing and his dance kept that from happening? 🤷
There's another fact you wont hear anywhere. Angus went to Burwood Primary School in NSW, and the family home was also in Burwood down the street and around the corner from the court house. That same house is now a local Medical Center with a doctor that specialises in “Hearing” problems.
Had the honor of seeing ACDC when they were a warm-up band for Ted Nugent. Sadly not long after ,we were in shop class when we heard that Bon had passed. That was a sad day for sure. We thought it was over. Little did I know, I would see them least six more times , and be a lifelong fan at age 62 😊
That sounds amazing, I wish I could seen them live, sometimes I think if I could somehow get real small and no one could say my to listen to my music anymore
Angus lives in Holland with his Dutch wife.. in a villa where he has Marshalls on the attic and plays m as loud as a live gig ... neighbours always gets the first to hear New ideas
There are a lot of great rock guitarists, but Angus had a way of getting the crowd goin like no other with his enthusiasm on stage...the man is a living legend.
True, he's a fantastic "Showman". Did the fans get their money's worth? Yeah. A sign of greatness is also longevity. And not just because you survived.
I thought he was Australian, but he was Scottish. That means ACDC was a Scottish band not Australian.🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
