Z23 is my favorite starter ship. It is a shame that she gets shafted by the Japanese like in the anime she doesn't get much focus like the rest of the starters or she isn't on the cover of Azur Lane Crosswaves since Z23 isn't a starter ship in Japan rather a reward if you fully limit break all the three starter ships.
@@agentepolaris4914 you do realize that Ayanami has the highest dph with her torpedoes right? Not to mention that Laffey has more consistent dps in PVE than Z23 thanks to Nimi's horrible torpedo stats. Her main niche is her high fp and 100% crit skill but Laffey can match that with her reload buff skill and then spamming her torpedo and gun.
Z-23 is badass looking, that is why I choose her to be my first starter and the first ship I oathed too.. no regrets tho.. in fact, I love german engineering.. is best in the world
Well the reason you dont put CL guns on Destroyers is the stupidly dumb kickback from those guns dont fit in with the chasis and plus in game it just slows the reload.
Z23's torpedo stat actually beats Laffey's. And she has the best firepower out of all of them. She also has the highest health but a lower evasion stat in comparison but with her higher health she's tankier.
@@gamedominatorxennongdm7956 The iron cross was given to all branches of Germany during ww2. and there 3 of them on Z23. So maybe the crew earned them. just a guess.
I won't, but I would add a young in front of lady. Because you can't tell me, she is as grown up as most cruisers, battleships and carriers. But among the destroyers, she is clearly at the older end of the spectrum

This might very well be Yostar or Manjuu taking things into their own hands. Maybe an overhaul since some of the episodes were rather underwhelming. Wouldn't surprise me if the last two episodes would end up in cinematic quality, maybe not Heaven's Feel level but close.

The tonnage likely played a role in Z23's appearance. Typically, German Destroyers were larger than their Allied counterparts, or most Destroyers at the time for that matter. Their full displacement was over 3,600-tons whereas a US Navy Allen M. Sumner-class was 3,515-tons displacement with a length of 127 meters (German) as opposed to 112 meters (American). Which is why, to use the term, Z23 is thicc for her group. Despite that, in actual capabilities, the American Destroyers were superior to their German counterparts. In fact, in most fashion, most Destroyers of other nations tended to be better than their larger German counterparts. Though that is both 'Most' as a keyword and depending on nation, time of construction, and several other factors. But for their time period, the Type 1934A Destroyers were larger, but less capable than say an American Allen M. Sumner or even the American Gearing- and Fletcher-classes that proceeded the Sumners. A number of German Destroyers had some structural issues, something that plagued some of the Cruisers of the Kriegsmarine as well. There was also the fact that despite their weight, their speed wasn't much better than most Destroyers and their overall firepower compared to American and British Destroyers alone, let alone throwing Japan's Destroyers in there as well, was severely lacking. Though, that would be based on era as well. But to be blunt, the smaller US Fletcher-class was about even in terms of Firepower and Anti-Sub/Air capabilities to the Type 1936A-class. The Sumner-class, of course, got ahead of them. The British J-class, of which Javelin was a member, are about also equal in terms of firepower, but had greatly expanded Anti-Sub/Air capabilities on those ships that survived, given that the J-, K-, and N-classes were also fairly the same and suffered extremely heavy losses, 13 of 24 sunk, but their abilities were about equal in terms of Firepower, superior in Range, and fairly robust and speedy too. Additionally, a number of nations kept their ships' weights down by using Dual Purpose Guns whereas the Germans were slow to develop, test, adopt, and field Dual Purpose Guns and so they had to carry additional armaments to make up for this lack of multirole capabilities.

She was the last starter to get her retrofit Took a really long time to get her oath skin Is missing from a lot of official starter ship art Is the only starter ship who's skins are all limited time and the only starter ship without a live 2D skin (outside of her default skin) Barely appeared in the first anime And is frequently the butt of punchlines IRL she accidentally rammed Z24 in the fog and fired a bunch of torpedoes at Enterprise only to miss all of them.

No! Original Z23 was not a destroyer type One-Nine-Three-Six A. It ist Nineteen-Thirtysix A! After the year 1936 A.D. and a modernized version of the destroyer type 1936 (that's why there is an A in the name of the class).

I'm starting to see a Trend with Iron Blood Vanguard ships: exceedingly good firepower and health against low evasion and Torpedo stats. (Please do not crucify me using those sentences, just never really gave a darn before)
Why is it that Laffey, the lazy buffoon with the fake bunny ears, gets to have an oath skin before Z23, who is a great sensei, a role model of perfection and grace and the chaddest among the starters?
