One to look out for.. The 1957 Half Penny has two varieties - the `calm seas` and the `rough seas` - the one to look out for is the `calm seas` variety, which is scarce. The `calm seas` were minted up until 1957 when it changed to the `rough seas` 39,672,000 minted (including both varieties) but few were minted in 1957 with `calm seas`.. Great videos, thanks for sharing..
I managed to find FOUR 1957 Calm Sea Halfpennies, from the same place, in 2023, for 10p each! I couldn't believe it. I also found SEVEN UNC 1956 Farthings, same place again, also for 10p each! But the one I definitely couldn't pass up on, was a 1937 (most likely) Halfpenny with a BLANK Reverse - if it's a fake, it's extremely well done, no rough edges, perfectly flat, good colour - still only 10p!! There are still some damn good coins out there to be found!!
‘H’ represents the Heaton mint in Birmingham England. The ‘KN’ is the King’s Norton mint. The Royal Mint in London subcontracted both these mints to cover periods the main mint were unable to produce coin; likely due to maintenance issues.
I had these coins took them to my local gold store who told me they were worthless but when I got home they were not in my coin bag ! Assuming the man who helped me stole them sooo what do I do?
Excellent news on the Great Britain, George, Half Penny, and One Penny. Have to send them in for sure. Thanks JW you just made my day!!! Keep up the awesome videos!! 💱
Just for info the penny's with the 'H' at the left of the date were minted at the 'Heaton' Mint The ones with 'KN' at the left of the date were minted at the 'Kings Norton' Mint.
I knew I'd live to say YeeHaa when at age 10 I started saving old English pennies from 1860 onwards! I have a few of these, sadly not from 1933!! In 1966 having saved all my pocket money for months I'd go to the local bank who'd let me into a secure room and let me sieve through ALL the old pennies they had! This is where I obtained most of my pennies! I still have the collection and will never sell them!

Hello Mr.Vickers what coins are extremely rare and exspensive over in your neck of the woods?..Just wondering because I have soooo many Coins in amazing condition from 1500 AD and up
2 weeks ago I went to an estate auction. I won 1 suit case and 3 tins of various world coins, I have (almost) every one penny from 1910 to 1967. Multiple 1967,1936,1935,1918,1916 and so on. Half penny and farthings also. I do not know what I should do with them... ideas? I just got into coins and figured why not buy the suitcase and the tins since the gentleman that passed was over 88. Thoughts?

28th April 2019, ... hello Justin, .. just a small heads-up comment from me here buddy ..... your info on the 1933 "half penny" seems incorrect, as there were 10,580,000 minted that year .. (it was the 1933 "penny" which had the mintage of just 7. ..... also, it was the 1932 penny that had a low mintage of 8,277,600 .. not the 1936 penny as you state in your video. (the 1936 pennies were plentiful - 154,296,000). ....... and, just one final extra .. the 1950 penny , and also the 1951 penny, are both "extremely" scarce to find. .. the 1950 penny had a low mintage of only 240.000, .. plus 17,513 proof coins .. and the 1951 penny had an even lower mintage of just 120,000, .. plus 20,000 proof coins. All the minted coins from both these years were held in (unused stock) until 1956 in britain, .. and then in 1956 they were shipped out to the colonies, (mainly Bermuda) as they were not needed in the uk. .. (collectors actually went out to the island of Bermuda with the sole intention of buying {for a pound each, it is said), as many 1951 and 1952 pennies as they could find. .... shrewd ? .. maybe .. lol. ......... okay bud, thats me finished. .......... take care, ...... Mick.
Condition is all-important. I have thousands of pre-decimal coins in low grade and high grade. Worth more as scrap. They minted 654,564,000 pennies in 1968. The highest ever. Because they new that people would hoard them thinking they would increase in value. Don't be fooled into thinking the 1970 pre-decimals are worth anything. You can buy the cased 7 coin set for £10 over here.
Thanks for watching!! This video will help explain how to post images of your coins and a step by step process of how to sell your coins. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DaZMgjl02nQ.html
i have 36 pennies from 1862 to 1967 havent really checked them in full detail, but i think none of them are the really low mintage ones (i found them in a puse (it was my grandmas) about 9 years ago and it also has a bunch of european coins)
Nice 1918 coins! Nice low mintage 1919. Cool 1/2 cent. Nice'53 & '33 1/2 penny. Like the slabbed red penny! Very cool Justin, thx for the heads up, shawn!
Not to be a grammar/terminology Nazi but there is a difference between a cent and a penny. There was no cents in this video. A penny is 1/12 where as a cent is 1/100
sayits 69 yeah it was a bizarre system. 4 farthings in a penny. 12 pennies in a shilling. 2 shillings is a florin, 2 and a half shillings is a half crown, 5 shillings is a crown and 20 shillings makes a pound 😅
Hey there CC. Another great video. Got a question about a foreign coin that I own but have no idea of it's value. Have u ever seen a 1609-1909 Ponce De Leon Commemorative to the Christian Colonization?

There are silver coins too. 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d and 6d. d means penny. They are called Maunday money. Little pouches of them are given by the Queen once a year to a small number of people.
Hey, Justin. What's the deal with the 2 New Pence British coins. Are they rare? Are they worth keeping? I have two of them. Please tell me what you know. I just watched a video where they are selling on ebay from over 4000 pounds to 14000 pounds. Seeing how you have a tonne of videos I figured you would know.
I have 3 One Penny coins from Great Britain. 1910 Edward V11, 1921 George V, 1927 George V. do they have any value? I also have coins from several other European countries.
I have the penny that you mostly spoke of but it's an 1949, one. I found it while digging when I was 6 years old. Can I ask you for help? I know nothing about coins, and I've been to coin places But no one can help me. I have other coins, one from Italy and France and Canada. All found while just digging and playing in the dirt as a child.
Bit of a mistake on here respectfully in regards to the George V 1933 Half Penny it is the 1933 One Penny that is amazingly rare not the 1933 half penny they are extremely common.
Actually 4 special once were made British penny 1933 a wide range of mixture brass silver copper experimental and 7 was made out of just copper & brass no silver mixed and further 6 copies were made out of copper no brass
What about on higher denominatrd £sd coins like 1 Sovereign, 5 pounds, ½ Sovereign, 2 pounds, ½ Guinea, 1 Guinea that are made in gold Also ½ and 1 crown coin that made of silver Any video bout them????
All silver coins before 1920 contained .925 sterling silver so 92.5 % pure silver. They debased the silver content in 1920 to .500 or 50% silver as the coins silver value was worth more than the face value 1946 was the last year of the coins with silver.1947 onwards cupronickel was used right up to decimalisation.
I have a 1933 Great Britain half penny that was my Dads he died in the late 60s and the 1936 Great Britain one penny from my dads collection no 1953 however... what do you suggest ?
