Please reply. I watched your spoken Sinhala lecture 1.introduction video . Very good teaching . how can I join the lecture or your class Can you send the total lecture video (spoken Sinhala lecture. last year you published it)
Bro there are two types use in Sinhala when we are speaking.. We call it “the written language” and the “spoken language”.(ලිඛිත භාෂාව/ likitha bashawa and කථන භාෂාව/ kathana bashawa) When we are speaking in Sinhala we normally dont use( actually never) “written language”/ likitha bashawa/ ලිඛිත භාෂාව bcs its too formal. - We use “written/writing language” when we are writing Sinhala. - when we are speaking sinhala we should use “speaking language/spoken language " Ex- 1) I ate rice If you want to tell this to ur friend in Sinhala U should tell him like this- * මන්/මං/or මම බත් කෑවා. Mama bath kaawa.. (බත්/ bath = rice, කෑවා/ kaewa/kaawa = ate) When writing you should write like this... * මම බත් කෑවෙමි. Mama bath kaawemi/ kaewemi ( difference is කෑවා→ කෑවෙමි . *If the subject is me, මම/ mama, we put ' මි /mi ' at the end of the verb.. * if the subject is we/අපි,api we put 'මු/mu' at the end of the verb ) * * When we are writing Sinhala we can use both “ writing language" and " spoken language" . Ex speaking/ Spoken language to writing language 1 I eat rice , Spoken L- මම/මන්/මං බත් කනවා/ mama bath kanawa. Writing L- මම බත් කමි/mama bath kami. කනවා→ කමි 2 I go to temple Spoken L- මම/මන්/මං පන්සල් යනවා/ mama pansal yanawa Writing L- මම පන්සල් යමි./ mama pansal yami.(formal) Or you can also write it as (මම/මන්/මං පන්සල් යනවා/ mama pansal yanawa) You can use "Spoken sinhala" when you are writing anything... for text messages/ for a letter even formal letters with respect) We go to temple. Spoken L - අපි පන්සල් යනවා( Api pansal yanawa Writing/written L- අපි පන්සල් යමු (Api pansal yamu ) යනවා → යමු
@@shakilasanjeewa1665 ආයුබෝවන්, Thank you much indeed for having taken such trouble to explain the correct use of written and spoken Sinhala. Your explanation was a complete lesson for me for the whole to learn. I really appreciate and your time. If you need any help with Tamil and Hindi I would be more pleased to help. Thank you so much once again. 🙏 🙏

I know how to speak in pure Tamil even. But sorry, I am here teaching the Sinhalese, just to communicate with Tamils as easily as possible. I am not teaching people to get Ph.D. s in language. My country has a massive communication issue between the two nations. I am only trying to fill the gap. Sorry for the inconvenience made to you. However, you can easily skip watching my videos if they are really irritating.
@@KumaraIndrajith no not at all, don’t get me wrong. I have seen that you can speak very good fluent Tamil, English words are unnecessary. It’s a one way to kill a language, do you want to take that blame? It’s exactly what happened in Tamil Naadu, India. No one speak Tamil there, what they are speaking Thanglish
Thanks sir. My biggest target is to join the two nations. Killing a language could be saved by native speakers, but peace could only be saved by reconciliation.
@@KumaraIndrajith Don't get me wrong. I was just kidding you. I took a challenge today that I should irritate any of the youtuber. So, I thought that you're one of them. I am really sorry about that bro. You're the 3rd person that I have irritated today. And I have to say something that your videos were really cool. Also It's helpful. Keep uploading videos. Thanks a lot.
