Never have I disagreed in a video so much that I'm actually taking quite a bit of time to write my thoughts on this: 1. "They smell wierd", well...isn't that the point of a *niche* fragrance/fragrance house? You might like 2 or 3 but the others don't speak to you because they aren't your *niche*. The same way others will hate the fragrances you like but they will love the ones you hate. What would be the point of a Niche house if most of their offerings aren't niche. 2. While i do agree that not all Lattafa fragrances are bangers they do have quite a bit of good ones and conveniently enough one of them is that Woody Oud you showed on the video. Let me tell you a little story. I used to own Oud Wood back in the day and it smelled amazing! I went to a Sephora to smell the Oud Wood of today and it was absolutely destroyed. Little to no cardamom, no longevity, no projection, the fragrance had been very waterd down to what it once was. That Woody Oud by Lattafa is actually a very good alternative to Oud Wood. Is stronger, smells about 90%+ like the original for a fraction of the price. It just doesn't have the cardamom note (the original almost doesn't even have it anymore after the cardamom price increase) and has a more noticeable vanilla note, other than that its pretty much the same. 3. I would never choose Chanel or designer fragrance over a Xerjoff. I love visiting the mall and smelling the designer fragrances to see what is new. But honestly, they don't waw me like a Xerjoff, ever. Designer fragrances are ok but i rarely smell something that i would truly consider. Ofcourse i would nerver pay retail for a Niche fragrance, but the quality difference is very noticeable from a Xerjoff to a Channel. But i guess that is just my taste, i respect your opinion but i can't really agree to it from what I have personally experienced.
I just had to stop watching, for one he judges on house that makes extremely high quality perfumes because some of them are not mass appealing, hello? so are people supposed to like every single offering a house offers, or reject all? just buy the ones you like simple. As for Lattafa, they make clones that are an outstanding bang for the buck, go ahead smell Masa, or Vintage radio and tell me they smell cheap, if you like niche, get Atlas ( a megamare clone) khamrah on fragantica is voted the #1 fragrance among clones, and it in the top ten of all perfumes. so obviously I, among tens of thousands of other people will have to disagree.
Only one brand I could agree with was Curve. The rest of 4 are still great. I find so many amazing ones that I like from them. Scents are subjective and you gotta find ones you feel right for you in the end not because someone tells you it’s good or bad.
I can't speak for new bottle designs,as They may also be slightly reformulated, but I can say that If one finds older ,vintage bottles of xerjoff (Rich wood,Kobe,Modoc etc etc) they'll not be disappointed!🙂
@@THELUVOFG I personally see no appeal in paying inflated prices for vintage bottles. If something gets discontinued or reformulated to the point of being unrecognizable, I just move on.
@@flightgravity7483 Frags are subjective and personal so There's no issue with moving on. But you have collectors out there who want original & like an art collector,is willing to pay extra & go the extra mile to obtain such items. There's no right or wrong, one just has to know exactly what they are looking for to keep from being scammed. Be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove👍! Keep smelling great🙂
Is this a first April joke? Amouage = fantastic Lattafa = fantastic Maison Alhambra = some are pretty spot on At least the second half i can give you Kredit Curve = spot on trash 😂👍 xerjoff = yes it’s quit overhyped and boring
thats kinda what niche houses are going for, to be very unique and unexpecting to satisfy fragrance weirdos. But the thing is, real masterpiece perfume should be unique, intriguing but still mass appealing, all at same time, and only few % of niche fragrance actually can do that
That’s the whole point of niche to be honest ,it’s literally your scent profile, don’t listen to RU-vidrs because they promote everything whether good or bad it’s how they make money but I think every niche house has a fragrance that stands out and no matter what people say wherever you go you’ll probably be the only one wearing it 😂
Im on the fence with Amouage too, tried a bunch of them from the old releases and i see the quality and artistic direction. Serious, mature to the point of being borderline elderly suiting scents. What i appreciate however is, to me personally, they invoke memories of being a child encountering things belonging to adults such as an old dusty leather briefcase, an old pastry shelf full of spices...a wardrobe of heavy furr coats, suits and mothballs. Im a very nostalgic and melancholic person so the scent profiles of Amouage do touch on that but im not compelled enough yet to own a bottle. I did like Interlude of which i own a clone off and Myths Man (discountinued) but other then that i found them smelling way too similar and they didn't wow me. Lattafa however i appreciate and honestly, to my "non pro" nose, i found them good enough to the point if i didn't care about branding and only about scent, i could build a complete collection that covers everything just with Lattafa. Key with them is letting the bottles sit and let oxygen do its work on the liquid inside. Its a highly controversial and debated subject but im a ferm believer that some fragrances do improve in time, especially clones and cheapies. That being said, in all honesty we all care about branding, because we are hardwired to artificially attribute more value to something that is more expensive so for this reason i also moved on from clone houses. If i was to be fair to myself, scentwise i mostly appreciate my Lattafa fragrances more then i appreciate the other more prestigious fragrances in my collection.
I am mezmerized Parfums de Marly and Initio Parfums aren't on this list. Those are the epitome of bad fragrances being sold at steep prices only because of influencers. Amouage have some great ones for those who want something more aproachable like Journey Man or Royal Tobacco. But I agree and love the fact that they make some weird smelling fragrances.
I don't have the money to spend on the niche house's that you mention. You're pretty much right about Lattafa. When I first started collecting fragrances I bought a bunch of Lattafa's/Maison Alhambra based on RU-vid reviews. At this point I own nearly 100 fragrances but only wear around 10 of them consistently. Most fragrances that I've bought from reviews were terrible. There is no place for me to try them and a tiny decant is 1/3 the cost of a full bottle. I do have to admit, my most complimented fragrance is Jean Lowe Immortal (Lattafa). It always gets unsolicited compliments. The worst smelling fragrance that I own is probably Midnight Oud which is supposedly a spot on clone of Amouage Interlude Man. Encre Noir is also a stinker that I've seen get mentioned by reviewers. Oud for Glory was so hyped up last year but it smells like an old attic. Raghba Wood Intense smells like you stood in a fire for a few minutes. I've bought a lot of dumb ass fragrances based on RU-vid reviews.
Sounds like you may have got some fake Xerjoff. lol. I’ve enjoyed most the fragrances I tried from them. Mine definitely don’t smell cheap at all. And I’m not new to this game at all. They definitely use synthetics but they are high end. They remind me a lot of a little more daring pdm. I enjoy the wearability. But hey to each his own. I respect your opinion. I bet eventually you’ll be one those vintage snobs spending more time hating on stuff than enjoying. Like Ramsy 🙄
I haven’t actually tried a bad smelling jimmy choo fragrance yet id like to know if one does exist that smells bad lol I know they aren’t beasts in performance but neither is creed silver mountain water and that cost me more than the 4 jimmy choo fragrances i own put together and 2 of them are 200ml bottles man aqua and man intense so big shout out to jimmy choo for some good smelling stuff for cheap at discounters
Could you make a "top 10 perfume-free / non-toxic fragrances"? It is hard to find good fragrances that smell good and doesn't give me an allergic reaction.
@@rxl209pourhomme6 nice bro. I actually just packed one up today and before I did, I had to smell it just to see how it was coming along and it blended together nicely
Dude, the best advice I could give you is get out of the fragrance game. Your nose is not ready. I have to agree with others here. Never have I disagreed more with anyone here. Keep smelling Jimmy Choi .. it’s ok. But there is a reason you’re not paying a lot . Hey … whatever makes you happy. But some of us are more developed as far as our senses and less restrictive.
I wanted to see creed on your list and you didnt talk about it yet 80% in the frag comm agree its no longer worth it but then you talk about xerjoff ! And then i realised your pallate hasnt advanced to process anything in the fragcom.
Xerjoffs aren’t challenging they just smell cheap. I wear other things, but nobody’s interested in them. Believe me, I’ve tried. Nobody cares about my Bortnikov cologne musk. Creed wasn’t on my list because they make solid fragrance. They’re just way overpriced. They are essentially eight and Bob with the Creed price tag. you said it yourself 80% of frag.comSays……. they’re mostly sheep.
@@rxl209pourhomme6 have you tried alexandria 2? Have you tried 40 knots, you say naxos smells cheap, but in the same scent category there is herod and beverly hills which have the same quality, what ive realised is that you think strange smelling perfumes mean quality and basic clean simple means poor quality for example LV imagination is simple Tygar is also simple basic, does that mean cheap ??? , if xerjoffs smell cheap that means chanels and diors also smell cheap and poor quality, Your submission is self sabotaging and doesn't hold any water
Navigate to is the company known for using influencers for shilling purposes. They claimed a famous creating a fragrance, laughing an influencer’s name on it afterwards, and pretending said influencer had a hand and creating it. Xo brandy is a fragrance from Navitus in collaboration with RU-vidr big beard business. This fragrance smells such of booze that I do not recommend wearing it while driving
@@Mr.Cologne you keep following me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 youre a good guy though i like you bro, you have added something to the community, and many reviewers now know you, you work hard pumping content for us, we appreciate bro
Amouage is literally best perfume house in the world…and it’s not even close. Oh yeah, and they’re not part of the free bottle brigade. HaHa you lose credibility that you actually haven’t got yet mentioning Amouage in a video like this. PS when is the fitness content coming…
No offense to anyone who likes Amouage but they are quite challenging to wear and most I’ve sampled all smell like various types of B.O. with herbs & spices. Hard pass! 😷😵💫😂
He’s not a fool but he’s truthful to himself and that’s why niche is about, they’re catering to the small niche community so it depends on which one your nose likes compared to designer what most people go for .but in your defence I think each niche house will have a scent we all love .
Amouage yes, unique and they use a ton of natural ingredients. But Xerjoff on the other hand is overhyped, overpriced, synthetic shit. The man knows his shit.
