Is it right, that the exposure preview only works in manual or T mode?

Thanks for watching, Kind of yes however you will see still a preview of the image in auto mode as well however the camera decides how to exposure the image

Histogram can be activated in display settings under custom setting make sure histogram is ticked and you should be able to see it after
