Hello Lauren, we just discovered your channel for the first time by accident. What a joy. We are relative newbies to Richmond, Originally, from the Boston, Ma area where we lived for 35 plus years. We have been here for about 3 years . Bought a home and moved in during the pandemic. It was a golden opportunity for my wife and I to move since she could work remotely and I was semi-retired. You say why Virginia ? 1. Very affordable. 2. My wife's family live in the DC area close by. DC is unaffordable. 3. A underrated culture scene. So when we saw you, what a joy to discover some of the things you've done in a short period time. You've managed to connect with a wonderful community. Right now we are binge watching your wonderful videos. We want to explore more of Virginia as I hope you will. You captured it's essence very well on video. Thank You for the pleasant surprise. All the best. 😍😍 from Jim and Harriet Richmond, Va.
Welcome to Richmond. I have lived in the area (Midlothian) for over 10 years. It's an interesting place. I practice street photography throughout Richmond and have met some great people.
@@LaurenZRay There are some good restaurants in Midlothian: Wong's Tacos, O'Toole's, and 1870. Also, don't miss hiking at places like Pony Pasture, Robius Landing, and Larus Park.
Crazy hearing a live musician singing “Country Roads” as I’m watching this video while living in WV, doing research as my wife and I are planning to move to Richmond lol
You and your partner moved to Richmond at the right time. Being a Richmond native, Richmond used to be quite boring. Thank you for giving me ideas when l get back home this summer to visit. Your energy is great and yes, you are a great editor of your vids. Very professional! Thanks for talking about vegan options as well. Sending both of you good vibes from Madrid.
Hi. I live in Baltimore, MD but am thinking of moving to Richmond, VA myself. I’ve only visited VA and Richmond but have never lived there. Is it safe to walk around the city alone during the day and at night? Are there lots of jobs down there to pick from? Do you get very little or no snow at all down there in Richmond? Do the neighborhoods have a colonial vibe architecture to it? Thank you. 🇺🇸
@@travelingdude1621 we do have some big companies that exist here like Costar, Capital One, Carmax, Altria & Dominion Energy for jobs. We got two light dustings of snow last winter. Neighborhoods have incredible architecture with neocolonial as one of the types. With what is safe, it really depends on the neighborhood you live in and your own comfortability. I can only speak from my own personal experience and I’ve always felt safe but never walked too late at night.
The Ivy had a good first season. Unfortunately in this game the opponent didn't have enough players for a complete team (I think they were a new club in the league as well) so it was easy pickings, but some of the goals were hard-fought and looked good.
I wanted to thank you for your focus on Richmond. Personally, living here for over 25 years, I feel it is a true gem. One question, have you been to Hotel Greene for highfalutin' mini-golf? It's a really unique experience.
Omg I love that place!! Went for Xmas and recently with my parents. Another perfectly unique activity in Richmond! I need to put it in a vlog one day for sure. 😍 also, thank you for the kind words!!💚
