Love to use the salt with watercolor to creat a beautiful snow effect. Try it you'll love the look once it is completed dry. Let it dry slowly on it's own the salt cause a crystal look. Once dry then brush off the salt. Happy painting 🖌️
can we see what these look like once dry ?? sometimes watercolor looks different after it dries especially when the technique has the color slowly moving /bleeding on the page it doesnt look the same when the paint first hits the page (wet) to when its dry ..
That's a good point. This exercise is so quick and easy. I'm planning on doing it tonight... that way I can see for myself. Maybe there is a longer video with the results on her channel.
The salt one i’ve tried before and I think it ended up looking similar to how she showed it, the salt does mess with the pigment in an interesting manner
I'm so glad I started following you. I just began my watercoloring journey, but I have already learned many new things and dared to experiment bc of you! You make it very accessible and I'm excited to see where this journey will lead me (:
My son and I did a painting where we used salt and it created an effect of Starbursts and tie dye. It was pretty neat and it gave the painting a bit of texture!
I feel I was meant to see this! I’m painting a humpback whale for my friend and I wanted to see how to do some different techniques!! Saw your video and your whale. Love it!! ❤
Ive tried the salt one and no matter how many times i tried it it sadly never worked so im not sure if im doing it right or if its a spefic type of salt, who knows
The intro was putting paint on splotches of water, then in #1 for blooms, the first is water on watercolor and the second is watercolor on wet watercolor. Hope that helps!
I found a toothbrush under the carpet of one of our used cars, and took it to painting classes, calling it the "heritage" or "heirloom" speckling brush - I think it was an Oscar the Grouch toothbrush
20+ years of off & on watercolor classes and I've NEVER seen the rubbing alcohol trick! Tried drinking plenty of the booz-ey kind!!! Okay, mostly so I didn't care as much that near the end the painting looks fairly good. Then, I always ALWAYS make some stupid mistake and ruin it!!! ALWAYS!!! Another technique that I love is splattering the paint using various sized straws and metered puffs of air to blow the paint into wonderful shapes & effects!
