I love that game. Granted, I'm not a Castlevania player (I literally have only played Judgment and Simon's Quest) but I thought the game was perfectly fine.

I think it'd be better if it didn't have forced motion controls. Gamecube/Classic controller support would have fixed a lot.

TBH, the only Sonic game that comes to mind is Sonic Unleashed, but the problem is that the game is half great and half... meh? I think a remake would fix the issues by slowing down the daytime stages and speeding up the nighttime stages. (And also having an option to turn off the battle music interrupting the stage music. Hard to like the music when you're interrupted by more trumpets than a free form Jazz band's cover of Pokemon Gen 3.)

Most sonic games are pretty good or decent at their best, but so many of the games are bogged down with so much bullshit, be it stupid gimmicks, odd alternate playstyles that just slow everything the fuck down, or where the controls are just... well... secret rings.

nah dude I'd tell all my friends I enjoyed playing it with that custom crossbow for the wiimote a lot and I'd be proud of it, doesn't have to be a guilty pleasure

While I wish it had been a proper TP sequel, do I really like it despite not liking shooters much as it has a lot of charm..!

Yeah I agree with the other entries, but Forever is a slog. Way too many QTEs, forced cutscenes, drawn out vehicle segments that really date the game and make it hard to enjoy.

When it got to Forever I sincerely thought it was a bait of some kind. But then the list got to a more normal place, and the feeling was gone.

Star Fox Zero is really great, people totally need to actually give it a proper shot and learn to play it! The controls are only a little confusing at first because it's an experience so unlike anything else- it's more like when someone tries gaming itself for the first time and isn't instantly incredible at it just because it's new to them, instead of it actually being the controls at fault. People seriously need to give it a chance, I've been saying it for years!

If you skipped the second one like many people I 2nd Drew's recommendation of it. It's not as tight as the first game - I don't recommend going for completion, but overall I found it more memorable and more enjoyable.

@@sardiax they need to make a third game, parkour is poorly represented in video games, I feel, I mean yeah a lot of games have parkour but we need more games that really focus on it

Super Paper Mario is a weird one on that most people thought it was good/decent, just a lot of TTYD fans like to use it as the scapegoat of when the series went "bad".

There's a lot going on with Duke Nukem Forever's reputation that goes beyond the game itself. It was advertised as a "return to 90's style shooters", but then pointlessly ditched some of those games' best mechanics (like being able to have a lot of guns at once) last minuet before release, to the intense ire of people whom were basically lied to. That very reasonably pissed some people (like me) off, as I can't stand games like Halo and CoD over their gun mechanics. Can't really say it "thumbed it's nose" at military shooters when it adopted both their limited gun holding mechanics, level structure, and regenerating health system. Feels more like a shittier version of Halo than the 90's shooter we were promised. If the game isn't "that bad", it still deserves the hate it gets and more for it's lack of a coherent design philosophy.

I like the game for what it is it’s not the best obviously but it’s a fun time waster when nothing else is going on

Curse of Darkness is one of my favorite games of all time so if it's hated I'm shocked

Having more attachment to 64 makes the game less fun IMO. Also, while the gyro controls do indeed require a lot of adjustment, some elements of the control scheme, like the button layout, are just straight up bad, and there's no adjustment possible to remedy that.

As a kid, I remembered getting the game because I loved the GBA version... I didn't care about it that much, it seemed slow, clunky and a little bit annoying... having played Battle for Bikini Bottom around that time didn't help matters

The button layout especially needs fixing. It's a bigger issue than the gyro controls IMO.
