Fave hairstyles for cycling are two French braids for road and then for MTB I wear a full face so I usually pile it all on top of my head in a loose bun for the climb (sans helmet) and then move the loose bun down after the full face goes on. I really like doing the two French braids for MTB too. It keeps my hair from getting full of sweat.
These are great ideas...thanks for sharing! I usually just do a ponytail and pull it between the helmet and the size adjuster knob thingy so these are great ideas for helmet friendly hair. The wispy pieces of hair in the face while riding are not fun!
Oh, I really want to go to Bentonville so bad right now but it's not going to happen in 2021. We will be an outer bike moab in October. Have tons of fun!
I hear ya on this. I could not figure it out. I just bought a new helmet. My issue was the darts would dig as I tightened it down. Does that make sense? I bought a POC Ventral Air. I think my issue was I had a very cheap old Giro helmet.
Yeah, sometimes my hair will get stuck in the mips stuff too. It's not a huge deal for me cuz it doesn't get stuck super bad, but I do feel like the hairstyles where The hair is pretty smooth under the helmet it's less likely to get stuck. So for example, the side twist style in this video would probably be less likely to get caught in the helmet because they're in there are no braid loops under the helmet to get caught on. But I totally hear that, it happens and it is a little annoying.
Good question. I haven't had that problem so I may not be qualified to answer but my helmet has a little dial at the back that I thighten once I put the helmet on. It takes up any remaining slack and tightens my helmet down.
