I would say even though multipliers aren't everything and are secondary to welcome offers, they still carry some importance, but I certainly value simplicity in my core credit card setup. So they're worth thinking about - but welcome offers are definitely better to think about more! Great video Matt!

Obviously, we can always be strategic about welcome offers and there will likely always be new ones to chase, but sometimes for various reasons your Core Setup can be very important as well. Very insightful video Matt! I'm 4.5/5, I always get tripped up by that last one as while I do focus on SUBs, I still try to do the smallest optimizations, like making sure that spend towards a SUB is only on non-category spend until I'm too close to the last day in the SUB window. Not sure the risk makes the few additional points worth it haha.

Totally agree on being frugal limiting the amount of points I can earn! As a family of 5, random expenses pop up but I’m still over here trying to find the best price on most things we buy and won’t pay extra, unless it’s cents, to get more points. Thankfully our normal expenses are enough for us at any time to get a SUB so we don’t have to over spend for any SUB

I love Clue 1 because I did it. 😀 First two cards are SoFi credit card and BILT card. No AF, transfer partners, and all major categories covered with either points or cash back depending on what I need. Still blowing it with Clue 2 but the rest are chugging along. We need more vids like this.

Imaginative, thought-provoking content 💰🧠 Maybe another clue: you have a road map, but at step 3 or 4 or 5, you change something. You optimize because you learned something new. Another possible clue: you’re at step 4 or 7, and your credit score has gone UP, or at least stayed stable.

what is the perfect credit card strategy....don't have any. cash on hand and buy assets. You're not beating these multi-billion dollar companies with the "strategies". If you're spending money to get points or cash back then it's not free now is it? You're their slave to a fico score or should I say the debt slave score. Best way to win at the game....Dont Play.
