My brother edited this video for me and absolutely crushed it! If you enjoyed the video, consider pressing the like button so that more people can see it. Appreciate you all so much!
Dylan, I think you scored with the perfect format of "5" things. SO much easier to remember and learn instead of the "10 or 20 things you need to know vids."
Yeah! There needs to be something like “hidden secrets bible” or something crunched and segmented by category (i.e. transforms, drop zones, titles, transitions, etc) There are so many… if by the time I actually need it might have forgotten part or all of the trick.
On a side note, which always happens in drop zones as well, where you liked to pick the part of the video to be in the drop zone, was not actually what was put in the drop zone which is yet another frustrating problem with Drop zones...
Ive been using FCPX for years and didn't know about some of these fantastic tips Dylan! Thank you so much for sharing them. Real time savers! Brilliant!
Great job on editing, Dylan's Brother! Thanks so much Dylan for #4! I had so many frustrating experiences trying to select the right text since I work with them so often. Lifesaver! Thanks again.
Thanks for your great content. Always helpful. Do you offer a final cut course (not for beginners) or can you recommend a great course? I know a lot about the basics but I want to improve my work flow and learn new cutting skills.
I would love for you do some day do a tutorial more in depth with Drop Zones. As it is, which is horrible in my opinion, you cannot choose video from your bin that has not been slowed downed or even worse not color graded yet. Makes no sense at all. I am wondering if there are any "Tricks" to doing it, I find myself having to make a ton of Compound clips either in my timeline or using them from the bin which just seems stupid. Why the heck can't they make it so you can use your clips from the bin and then color grade them afterwards? Just makes it so much more Cumbersome to say the least...
when i use text and add outline that’s as thick as mrbeast’s captions, after resizing and rescaling it starts cutting off all weirdly. Honestly something about resizing or rescaling text in general would be great because i don’t know the difference
It’s safe to say that a lot of these tips were found by accidental clicking 😆 Really wish there was an option to move the inspector to a second display
one thing i find weird about speed ramps is the preset percetnages they offer, cause if i film something at 60fps and want to slow it down i want to go to 24fps meaning i want to set the footage to 40% but they don't have that as an option its only 50% ?
I think that’s based off of 30fps being the standard. It would be nice if it took into consideration the frame rate of the selected clip, and your timeline! I set Opt B as a keyboard shortcut to do “automatic speed” which saves me from setting it manually to 40%, as it automatically sets it to the proper speed based off the clips frame rate.
You can try copying and pasting attributes! Command C for copy, Command Shift V to paste all the changes over to your other clips. Unless I am not correctly understanding what you're after?
@@TheFinalCutBro I tried making the video look like vhs footage and stretched them back to normal but each clip is slightly off I'm just trying to make them not seem jittery between clips haha.
Alright, wow… double click on dropzones, really. Never did it ever occurred to me. Needs a similar magic trick but for the selected starting frame and duration and playback speed 😅, how far does that double click nugget spiral goes? “Hey Siri, remind me to try alt double click all over Final Cut Pro too”
