Great introductory video! I’m growing bottle gourds for the first time and want to try and maximize my yield…so I’m just checking out what different people say. I plan on giving mine one small dose of gibberellic acid when get about halfway to the flowering stage in hopes of increasing blossoms. We’ll see if it works out 💪 Thank you for the video!
Harvesting vegetables and gourds in June! Can’t get better than that. Last week it was cucumbers and now bottle gourds, superb achievement indeed👌. The weather certainly helps. My chayote plant was vigorously growing outside but suddenly turning yellow. Added some epsom salt and is well watered. I will be really grateful for any advice. Oh I see that my question from the other video is answered here regarding pruning and hand pollination. Do we need to keep pruning every side branch after 8 leaves? I have never planted bottle gourd (or any vegetables before). And so, just to clarify for me, after the main stem has about 8 leaves, we snip off the top bud. Then we wait for all side branches to grow, and for every side branch we snip the top bud after about 8 leaves, and keep going on like that? Or do we stop at some point? Very very sorry if my questions sound too dumb. But I am really clueless, and yet very interested in learning how to do this. Thank you so much.
