It seems I've finally solved my _"Skyrim has failed to allocate memory"_ crash, so now is the perfect time to tax the elderly game engine even further!
JK mods are awesome but they don't cover solitude docks so Redbag's solitude might be the perfect fit for me ! If you are going to try Jkrojmal interior's the cross interior with distinct interiors by Sokkvabekk with the JK distincts compatibility patch by Czasior are awesome in my opinion and it still works with the jk's interior patch collection by Janquel😇 I can't go back to vanilla since I use them 😁
Hey ya Bard! Two videos in one week? Now you are just spoiling us! :) Great video, you found some really nice city outskirt mods. I always appreciate your videos, so thank you for all your hard work!
I'm on a roll - editing and recording non-stop, everything about this just makes me feel happy and full with life. So thank you for appreciating, I appreciate your appreciation!! 💚✨️
Yes for well latrines are important. Cause they make the whole game much more authentic and atmospheric. ^^ Last but not least I can kill a guard while using one.
Great video as always, I have been trying to convince myself to boot up Skyrim but it all feels so overwhelming. These videos help me inch closer to the eventual reinstall.
@@BardsCollegeGraduate You're right, I do not mind the idea of curated modlists that are more or less plug and play but as someone that like the idea of customizing my own game fully and good forbid, enjoy the process of picking out the mods myself one by one. It is simply a big time investment 😭
1:45 I been wondering, why only bandit camp got makeshift toilet, i know its just a bucket and a hole but why the citizen of civilization got no toilet in skyrim?? 2:12 hohoho looks like someone use their more decent and modest armor but forgot to build it first.
Just got back into Skyrim and am currently modding it. How I missed some of JK's mods and others I just don't know. So thanks for this video. Elysium Estate owners, one thing to watch out for. JK's Outskirts add some walls that mix with EE's walls. Some disabling will have to be done. And if you don't mind the question. In your opinion is Redbag's Solitude a better mod than Solitude Expansion?
@@BardsCollegeGraduate After comparing those two mods to JK's Solitude I decided to do the same. Besides, I use so many of his mods already. Got to keep the loyalty going.
I just got an i5-9600k with an rtx 4070 super and 32 gb ram...i got all outskirts mods plus enbs plus over 16000 different animations added and compiled,i run at 2k resolution at 60fps np...if u want i can upload a vid and link u my data folder once u got a semi good gaming rig😀
Always get annoyed how these modders on RU-vid worry about some of the dumbest crap and they're modding like ooh it is an outhouse or we've added extra stables if the game doesn't function or run then all the extra things doesn't matter not everybody uses a PC some of us simply use consoles which are crappy for this unfortunately especially Xbox
I'm new to modding Skyrim. And apart from being a steep learning curve it is also exciting to see the huge number of mods available. I played Skyrim originally on the XBox 360 before SE/AE was launched, so see these reviews is really helpful. I'd love to see a complete overhaul of each city with the interiors and all the needed patches to make it work. If that's something you can do I'll defo be hitting the like and subscribe buttons ;)
Good luck modding! It's an adventure to be sure. If you get overwhelmed, remember that there is Wabbajack and the Nexus Collections to help you out, doing the work for you. For cities, I will always recommend JK's for both interiors and exteriors, but if that's too demanding for your PC, try Spaghetti's!
i wish we had mods that would add more to The Wolf Queen quest. Solitude is fun to explore, i just wish there were more quests to do there outside of Interesting NPCs and a few others.
I swear, Whiterun has to be THE most picky out of all the city overhauls. It has the worst fps drops and it's on top of everything the central hub for everything. JK's outskirts overhauls it pretty well, even with an fps drop but it doesn't add much liveliness into it. Whiterun Valley massively overhauls it to the point where it feels lively and a whole other game but it brings with itself the worst fps drops you can come across on the nexus. Ryns Whiterun brings in good visuals, good performance but it's practically empty regarding NPC activity. That's why I rarely overhaul it and just leave it the way it is...
Yup, Whiterun is so hard to mod. I liked Ryn's outskirts version well enough, but haven't tried Whiterun Valley yet. Wondering what kind of beast of a PC one should have for these mods to have absolutely no effect on the performance 😳
@@BardsCollegeGraduate Dude, you need to make a review on it, it makes the tundra region between Whiterun, Riverwood and Rorikstead SOOO lively. Different merchants with mules carrying bags and other stuff, wizards entering Whiterun to trade and buy stuff from the market, new mining town between Whiterun and Riverwood, also there's a new district in Whiterun called "The Marsh". Like it's a beast of an overhaul and much more. Only cons are the lack of patches for other mods and the somewhat bad optimization. Otherwise it's the best mod out there for Whiterun. On my RTX 3080ti 12gb it drops me to my 40's but I manage to play through them. It's just that worth it for me.
@@BardsCollegeGraduate Whiterun Valley - Hold Expansion I'll seriously die from joy if you actually review it. Btw I base my fps diagnosis judging off my own setup. I'm running a lot of SMP stuff, plus Nature Of The Wild Lands, Bjorn ENB and Ray Tracing, so... I get the reason for dropping my setup to my 40s. But really, it's an amazing mod combined with Dawn of Skyrim or Capital Whiterun.
JK’s Markarth Outskirts is great, but boy is it insanely performance taxing. Trying to run Rudy ENB and that mod destroys my fps down to the low 30’s 😂
@@BardsCollegeGraduate Me too though I think Modpocalypse has an NPC overhaul for the added people who look kinda strange. I patched in Blubbo's trees for Solitude and now it's just perfect. Never changing it.
I'm curious to know gow many mods you're running and if you have any CTD or freezes. I still play on LE and follow every mod detail to the letter and still have issues. I wonder if SSE or AE are just that much better to avoid these issues when running mods.
Very rarely any CTDs and no freezes at all, ever! I do suggest you switch to SE, it can handle a lot more, and there are a lot less crashes. Good luck!
"The cities are smaller which makes them more personal but there is nothing outside of the City walls like Lumbermills outside of whiterun or vineyards or orchids" "... by the nine, she's right" I've taken the economics of Skyrim a few times on my own research and said multiple times "How the hell are these people even eating or building anything?" and yet never thought about it more than that or even about adding onto it to actually make it economically stable. You videos are like someone cast Vision of the Tenth Eye, the Master Illusion Spell but at the last second put it on me and I had a 1,000 yard stare for like a minute as I saw the problems of the universe or something. Whiterun is a trade hub with 3 market stalls, 2 inns, 2 Blacksmiths, 1 Alchemist and 1 general Store. So where is the everything else like Fishery, woodworkers, Stonemasons, Enough farms to feed the people, ways to make money etc. Windhelm is old and wethered but legendary and yet it has 3 farms, a Blacksmith, an Alchemist and a general shop. Where is the Stonemasons or a local snow clearer or a Fishery or anything? MARKARTH IS IN A CLIFF and there is no way the Dwarven city under it supplied everything. If anything the cheese wheels inside were so old that they turned into blue cheese and killed the first person who took a nibble of it. How did I never realise any of this!? While I am thankful for the smaller and more personal cities (Because I get super lost in the giant Witcher 3 cities) like seriously, how do these people live!? Aside from Blacksmiths and Alchemists and the like 3 total Woodworkers, everyone else should be starving and on the brink of death Towns outside of City Walls were absolutely a thing and it solves a lot of problems, especially for food. You can't plant crops on a stone path after all. In some cases the towns outside of cities were 2-3 times bigger than the city itself and this mod solves this. I really have to thank you this time for once again changing my skyrim's characters life around him and her every time I log in. Also damn, what kind of body mods do you have? I've never seen a player character or NPC look so good in this game. I've also gotten it into my head that your in game bard is a perfect replica of you irl. Whether that is true or not, I do not know and most likely never will know but I can at least say, you look great! And it's true! Markarth is a maze! I honestly hate that city the most out of the nine. I try to stay out of it as much as I can. High Rock can have it back for all that I care but I will say the Silver is an important trade for Markarth and Skyrim and then by extension, the Empire if the Stormcloaks don't win. So that's something I guess considering they also have a Gold Mine at least half of the time when the Forsworn haven't killed all of the workers for the 5th time that month Yet again another outstanding video. I can now say with certainty that this channel is my favourite Skyrim channel out there and it has drastically impacted and in many ways, improved my own Skyrim game. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video
Interesting thoughts! It really is true that the scope of the game can't be that large to include everything that *should* be there, but in modded Skyrim, those things are fun and immersive to have. And yes Markarth is a terror to navigate in! Someday maybe the layout will be learned, maybe just before the next TES game comes out I use UNP body mod with Bijin skin - all the rest should be in my mod list :D there are quite nice character creation mods out there. Thanks again and see ya next time :)
There are many nice mods our there and "favourites come down to preference" and what you consider/feel about "lore friendly" The Great Cities is another set of overhauls that has continual fans,as well as "Holds........" to name A few ,there is Also "Helen Reborn " and A mod that lets you experience it before the Dragon attack also, via alternate start mods....
I'm a big fan of Jkrojmal's JK series and Redbag's mods are new for me. These mods add to Skyrim's cities and towns what Bethesdoesn't. The only downsize of these mods is they are incompatible with the mod "Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul" because they can disrupt or disable the AI added by "Immersive Citizens". 6:26 Nords have cold resistance, remember? Nice video, as always!!
Ah yes - the compatibility with other mods is the biggest downside, with a lengthy modlist it can be annoying to be sure to patch everything 😅 and haha you're right! How did I forget?!
JK's skyrim only says 'Partially Compatible. Possible NPC pathing issues in Falkreath and Rorikstead and clipping in Dawnstar' and there is also JK's interior patch collection which includes patches for Immersive Citizens for JKs interiors. Might not be perfect but Im going to be trying a new game with both of these installed and ill let you know how it runs -- might also be worth switching to AI Overhaul by mnikjom since its a lot more compatible
I love JKs Mods and Redbags. JKs Interiors are also great. The only complaint I ever had/have with JK is the amount of patches one might need especially in larger Mod Lists. I for example create Modpack [Wabbajack] and/or Collections [if using nexus and not MO2] (for friends and personal use) and let me tell you, sometimes finding the patches and stuff for JKs stuff (or any HUGE overhauls like this) can be quite difficult lol. But that's also part of a Modpack makers craft lol.
@@BardsCollegeGraduate Thanks, it is indeed a task, but there is also this great satisfaction that you get when you finally create a nice and stable load-order and if your me....play it for like MAYBE 20 hours and start on the next pack lmfao.
Have been really enjoying your content these last weeks I find these videos very relaxing I have searched vids for lore friendly animals and creatures mod showcases but can't find many of those May I recommend you do one like this I the future Keep up the great work always
Love jk’s stuff! But the amount of patches I’d need for each one would drive me bonkers lol. So I stick to most of the temple interiors, the major city general merchant interiors, and the major city inn interiors. And then markarth outskirts and riften outskirts. If they make a solitude outskirts… I’d absolutely love that. There are so many solitude mods, but until a jk outskirts, I think I settled on solitude bathhouse, my solitude gardens, spaghettis solitude, and solitude docks (updated???).
@@BardsCollegeGraduate I dunno why they don’t much exist except for the hot springs lol so I’m glad there’s some mods adding them. I’ve downloaded a winterhold bathhouse mod, and a riften bathhouse mod. I don’t think there was a Markarth one? Can’t remember. I was making a bathhouses mod myself, but then when I reinstalled everything after a typical Skyrim crashing clusterfudge, I realized I’d actually forgotten to save the esp somewhere so. Rip all that work lol. It’ll be a while before my energy levels and brain work back up to that idea again.
@@roseinskyrim I think in vanilla, there 100% should be at least saunas!! So that's 8 o thing mods do nicely :D If you ever have time and motivation, do try again - I'm always interested 😌
@@BardsCollegeGraduate hell yeah thank you. I'm irish and obsessed with celtic stuff and it's pretty similar to Scottish stuff. Could be a cool video idea! Hehe thank you for the reply
Jk’s Markarth Outskirts destroyed my FPS but damn if it isn’t worth it! For me, visual quality over performance any day. As far as JK mods go, I’m using every single JK interior out there, they really are outstanding especially when you pair them with a good lighting mod like Lux.
I really wish JK's mods didn't conflict with so many mods. I really want to use them but the chance of something being incompatible is just too high for me to use any
@@BardsCollegeGraduate He's missing his lower jaw and eyes. I'm currently playing with the Sons of Skyrim mod that adds this armor. That should not be happening. And hasn't happened for me so far. In fact all of the helmets, including full-faced helmets, in the mod at least show the eyes. There's no void effect like here.
