Yeah, that’s true. Just I wanted to show that you can still use a longer handle with stab type blades so you have great reach, quick move set and can stagger quite easily :)

Not necessarily. Sometimes you can eat the damage penalty for stronger dps overall. The point of the system is to balance the possible speed of heavier weapons with fast handles and viceversa.

I don’t speak from experience, but I think there is substantially more benefit in using the rapier head with slash handles than most other non-congruent combinations. There is the large decrease in damage, yes, but the pros are a very fast head, great reach, and a number of sweeping attacks you’d lack on a thrust moveset. The vice versa for comparison, Mjolnir head on the rapier handle, would end up with the opposite of all of these on top of the reduced damage.

i agree with you, but sometimes the comboes, fable arts, technique, size and shapes of the handle and weapons gives better attack opportunities

@@DipreG you have an overall 25/to50% damage reduction, so the statement make no sense, since pairing the blade with a compatible handle with the same speed will do so much more damage. do you want a longer reach on the rapier? acidic spear handle. Thje first combination we see in the video is far better with the same blade (ment for stab) on the salamander handle, is faster than that with no penality. You can do the same but withouth the penalities wih all the weapons. Even if the numbers in your stats is the same, if you test you'll see the drastic debuff to de damage you have

I would be very surprised if I don't see FromSoftware take a leaf out of the weapon system! Tbh, i'm surprised it's taken this long to have this kind of feature to be included in a souls-like game - It's genuinely the best thing to bless the genre!

Yeah, I slept on the booster glaive in my first couple of playthroughs of the game - definitely one of my favourite handles now!

Yeah it would be nice to have a difficulty slider/choice - Would then cater for everyone - I too felt that this update brought a lot of fresh things as you can use any weapon essentially now :)

When I say casual what meant for me, I don't like try hard, Tbh honest I almost gave up in the begging because I couldn't pass the first puppet guard, after die many time, never played or enjoyed any soul-like game, the reason I loved Lies of P since before release was the trailer my first thought that would be one of those normal slash RPG, like Kingdom Hearts, and you focus more on the lore, level up,story, fun combos than the difficulty itself, when my friend said that would be a Dark souls game but with Pinocchio theme I got so sad 😭, I just waited to update 1.1 almost 1.2 to play for real, even tho I have game pass and "played" (not really) on first day release. But what made go through all the rage of dying zillions for Fuecoco, kage bunshin ninja lady, Brotherhood siblings the return of the undead, all the hell the was fall to your death in the cathedral and zombie cave. Was just because I loved truly the game, not all that dying and frustration, now that I have everything full the game and with this update, I can finally focus on py attention in every single detail and make 100% of the game, (still in 92,5%)

embrace 'self difficulty' limit your health stat to make every hit count. the enemies maybe easier to deal with but limiting your health would make every hit on you feel dangerous

Great suggestion. I put this together last night and damn what a fun weapon, especially that charged heavy!

@@asraiSOA I absolutely love it. I’ve learned how to time my attacks based off of this combo. I’ve upgraded my puppet string to max it out. I usually just puppet string and hold it to flatten whatever enemy is in front of me. Then wait a second until they start to get up. Hit them with a charger heavy. Rinse and repeat. This can usually stunlock anyone!

On top of that U also have concentrate for extra age, apply an elemental buff, use the fable art buff then use the blade fable art for quick and hi dmg

this - I see so many recommending combinations that ignore the damage penalties and how that translates to stagger. There are other daggers that don't get penalized with slash that you should use instead. I find the Rapier with the City Spear handle to be a great combo.

@@TheKhoener yea they definitely matter especially if it’s tied to the heavy attacks. If it’s a down arrow on it pretty sure you can’t even break stance. I was confused why my booster handle with the acid spear wasnt doing it and it’s cause the heavy is a slash and the blade was a poke weapon only.

There's only a certain amount of Max Level upgrade materials within each playthrough - the other materials can be bought in the stores but I believe there is only enough to max 1 or 2 levels each run (I haven't played the game for a while so maybe they've added more since)

Yep, had that in my previous vid - those types of builds don't really seemed to have been nerfed, just more the lower end weapons have been brought a bit closer to that kind of power! :)

Just picked up the acidic great curved sword - going to try that with the master chefs handle. Thanks for the inspiration!

It can be to make a balanced weapon - again the power in the vid is from NG+4 so the damage will be lower against the enemies in the vid compared to say your first/second playthrough. Some combinations still work well, just means the type of attack you’re doing will change/be different for what the weapon was intended for :)

On my first play through rn and I am also rocking the tyrant blade on the city spear handle. Like you say it attacks hella fast and the long range is super useful. I just fought the black cat and he couldn’t even hit me

Edit: I like the circular buzz saw handles dodge r1 attack, you do a front flip downward slash almost it looks so sick

Yeah, I think they know that OP weapons don't need to be touched and well aware it's just a PvE game so no need to nerf stuff. Just doing more of what they've done and making it so every weapon/build is actually useable is more than enough to give replay-ability using all sorts of different combos. I'm still looking at other combos and I'll be sure to give some of those a try! :)

Acidic curved blade is giving me crazy dps in ng+2

I was thinking of doing a video showing the best weapon/build of each class (so technique, motivity, advance) but wasn’t sure if that would be of interest! Might have to get to work ;)

I did try the pistol rock drill but found other combinations to be better - I didn't try it with the spear handle so i'll definitely have to try and give it go! :)

Maybe try something like the holy sword (boss soul weapon) along with some amulets to help with weight - that weapon does a butt ton of damage when fully upgraded and you can respec your stats if you need by using the golden tree at the hotel :)

There’s no magic builds in this game…

​ stat based as in Acid, Blitz and burn DoT build (Advanced Stat) All these builds are based on Technique or Motivity

@@mistom77 unfortunately the advance builds aren’t the greatest in terms of flat damage, you can take pretty much all of these builds and put an advance crank onto the handles to help with the status effects but it’ll be doing less damage that what is shown in the video :)

Fun fact - just because the game tells you they’re “bad” combinations doesn’t actually mean they are :)
