I feel the exact same about Star Ocean 5, except I don't even like it gameplay-wise. I was so disappointed. But I'm so glad the 6th game is as good as it is.
Yeah SO5 I had such high hopes for. I am determined to finish it sometime as I hate leaving games unbeaten, but man that's going be a rough playthrough lol. And yep glad SO6 helped bring faith back into the series
I think FFX-2 has aged quite well. I understand the harsh criticism because of the huge tonal differences from FFX. However, it has one of the best battle systems in the entire series
The battle system is fun and as silly as the dress spheres were, I enjoyed it as I like job systems in RPGs. It's just the direction it took with the characters and other areas that disappointed me
Haha it depends. FFX-2 isn't terrible but know you're not going get the same storytelling depth of other FF games. And yep I don't know why they did that to the poor Moogles
You’re definitely right about the fairy tail game. I am a diehard fan of the series for 10+ years and I expected more from it. I got all the dlc outfits and bonus content as well, and tbh it’s just a lot of padding. I still pick it up every now and then after reading the latest manga chapters or when I wanna spend time with the characters without having to rewatch episodes, but I’m always feeling like it could be so much better every time I pick it up.
Yeah I was hoping for much more with the Fairy Tail game. Like the combat is fun and great music, but the amount of padding and recycled quests just dragged the experience way down for me
The game itself isn't bad as like you said, the gameplay is solid and I enjoyed the dresspheres, but for what I was hoping and expecting with how much I loved FFX, it was very disappointing for me personally. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
While it's a shame to hear any game lets someone down, Fairy Tale DOES have a, ahem, couple of things I like at least. lol I was surprised there weren't better quality of life improvements with Mana; I otherwise did enjoy it but a glitch zeroed me out near the end and I couldn't bear to restart it... Best thing about FFX-2 after that groovy intro? Yuna's hot pants. lol For real, the dress spheres had such great FFV job system vibes to them and it was fun having that return.
Well the Fairy Tail ladies are for sure busty...I mean ehm busting lots of enemies heads...yeah that's it Me too as the Secret of Mana remake should of been much more. Hey, that's fair if it just doesn't click for you that's fine, but the gameplay in 3 is definitely my favorite in the series. 2s combat gets pretty good near the end, but there's wayyyyy too much bloat IMO lol
@@legoboy-ox2kx Xenoblade X is definitely my favorite from a gameplay perspective. Huge focus on exploration, tons of customization options. Still my favorite in the series, even if the story was a bit weak.

There are parts of Fairy Tail that are fun, but overall so many lazy and recycled content in it. Yeah it's too bad about Secret of Mana remake and FFX-2. And thank you Marc!
FFX is my favorite game of all time. I play it multiple times a year. I love it. FFX-2 is a game I can't finish. I wanted to love it but it's not for me.
Yeah had high hopes for Fairy Tail but it was a letdown. Like I said, I enjoyed KH3 quite a lot too. Just wish it had moved the story forward more and the absence of FF characters was disappointing to me
Yeah, I've heard many disappointing things about Kingdom Hearts III 😅 Great video Joey, for me I found Fire Emblem Engage to be pretty damn underwhelming.
Thanks Nimbus! Yeah KH3 wasn't bad just was expecting way more. I hear lots of people were letdown with FE Engage. I still need to play it, along with 3 Houses so I may end up starting with Engage and work backwards based on others opinions of it lol
This was a good video, but it'd be easier to listen to if you cut out the 'uhhh' and 'yeah' and the 'ya know', and to some extent the giggling over your own commentary, in post. I'm guilty of doing that kind of thing myself when I speak in real life so I get it, but for a RU-vid video you can cheat and just snip it out.
