I was the eel!
I went to the Ely Eel Fayre 2022 to draw with the Cambridge Urban Sketchers and through a chance of fate ended up in the parade as one of the nine folks piloting the eel.

Pretty views interesting how you were volunteer to perform but that must have have been quite a experience....i mightve felt claustrophobia...lol well done on going with the flow...thanks for showing the sites you were painting..👩‍🎨🎨✍

Thanks for your comment. Ely is a lovely town with many pretty views. Once the weather is better, I hope to get back there and paint some more sites. Being part of the parade eel really was a once in a lifetime sort of thing. Right time and right place. My husband and I now use the phrase "eel energy" as our kind of short hand for saying yes to opportunities, even when they initially seem out of the comfort zone.
