5 Loved BFDI Characters that are now HATED! 

I can only imagine puffball's akward face when she lost and didn't get the prize, or how she'd break down and try to steal the prize

Honestly, I thought that Loser was gonna be #1, but I wasn’t thinking and Pencil and Match was a way batter choice. Pencil used to be my favourite back in 2014 but then she just became a whole new person in BFB 1. It was definitely the best to see FreeSmart in BFDIA/IDFB, because they were always so entertaining and made the show even better than it was.

I miss the good days of Pencil and Match. I hope one day they will be brought back in TPOT.

When ruby got eliminated, I almost cried. She was my favorite character. She has reasonable flaws, and she was pretty funny sometimes. “Am *I* still a member?” “Ruby, put your times tables away.” “People can’t *actually* die of sadness.”

Can we just appreciate how fries literally still is best friends with puffball even after bfdia 5e and how he forgets it. That just proves fries is a pretty good friend, even if he is a bit bossy and controlling sometimes.

im questionable about gelatin. He made it to the final two, and got more votes than teardrop, who was probably a fan favourite. Sure he did made it to the final two a lot, but still survived. Although flower might’ve crushed him in the finale of BFB 30, he still was liked by people. (my opinions btw)

The weird thing is, Cake never really developed even after Loser's elimination, and even if he did, his moments weren't so memorable

The reason spongey is now hated is because he started talking again, spongy almost never spoke in bfdi then he started talking more in bfb

Technically, Match was never a toxic person, she was just blindly following the actual toxic character, pencil. Pencil was probably the harshest character as she killed anyone she wanted to, killed bubble just because she didn’t want to talk to her, tore up bubbles test cause of the most random thing, and was generally an awful person towards anyone she talked to, she literally discarded ice cube and book as just “alternates” like they weren’t anything more than just extras, even book herself said the team was getting unhealthy for her and ice cube, so they left. After pencil got eliminated, match was still a jerk, but she wasn’t as bad as pencil, who If were being honest was probably a sadist given the fact they enjoyed seeing Fanny getting electrocuted by lightning, match was seen to grow as she realized that spongey cake was a mean game and actually played it with spongey, despite the two hating him. All in all, match can be a good character if she doesn’t hang around pencil anymore, pencil is a toxic influence on her

Seriously I don’t get why people hate the mean characters. They have the potential to develop a lot. Take blocky for example, he got a lot of character development during the split.

I never understood why these characters were so hated it was always just due to one slip up. if you were forced to stay on some weird island for days on end and going into compititions each day i dont doubt i would get to you. take foldy for example, she "defended" her friend the only way she knew how. and is now one of the most hated contestants + she had so much room to change. she coulda pulled a flower on us, i guess not tho

I have faith in Pencil and Match. Some people changed for worse, but sometimes change involves breaking a few walls

The Rocky one made me really sad because he's my favorite. I legit screamed in BFDI 22 when Flower got less votes than him, since at the time I hated her (Now I love her!!). RIP, he doesn't deserve all the hate.

Update for #1: Bubble has now joined Ruby in the brb. So this proves that the alliance that we all knew and loved will never be the same again.

The reason why Leafy got so many votes in the aloe vera episode was because people voted her with the thought of ELIMINATING her, not SAVING her.

It's kinda sad to think about the top 2 on this list. Puffball was one of very few contestants that were at their best in BFDIA (majority of contestants from all seasons were either forgettable, ok or hated in BFDIA while they were at their best in BFDI or BFB) and she was perhaps THE most popular contestant of ALL TIME. But then her controversial prize addiction episode happened and she was hated immediately afterwards, being set to go in the next episode with a RECORD amount of votes of ANY object show at the time had BFDIA not been cancelled. Since then she has not recovered from it and nowadays in BFB she's very forgettable and overlooked. Then you got the absolute TRAGEDY of Pencil's story arc throughout her history. She legit went from being a truly ICONIC and very likeable contestant and the leader of a cool little alliance in BFDI, to a still likeable contestant and leader of a KICKASS and bigger alliance in BFDIA, to such an unlikeable and hateful contestant that was SO bad and hated she ended up being THE first boot in BFB. Both characters' arcs are truly disappointing and devastating.

Pencil, match, and bubble used to be my favorite. Now it’s just bubble but I wish the best for the alliance to come back in a few years.

The Thing about old BFBI compared to new BFB is that old BFDI was much more simpler, you could almost explain each characters personality by one word because they were simple, now it’s a whole lot different, longer videos filled with a variety of conflicts

Just because the characters hates someone doesn't mean they deserve pain

I absolutely loved pencil and match in bfdia, bfdi, and idfb. But when BFB came I despised them, now with them in the EXIT, I feel like I’m starting to like them again

i used to like pencil but after seeing ep. 1 i changed my mind. It was truly sad to see one of my favorite characters to be hated.

Though Pencil was really mean in S4E1, it doesn't mean she deserved an elimination. I was hoping to see Pencil's personality in BFB shine brightly. And Match, even though was quite mean to Bubble for demoting her on the Quiz, could've changed. She was quite nice since she only asked Lightning to zap 1 (or 0) person, unlike Pencil who's asked Lightning to zap 2. Their Alliance was mystic and possibly one of the oldest in Object Show History. The split saved a lot of hated characters from getting eliminated by the viewers too, contestant-voting is really rare to see due to how Object Show Creators would prefer the power given to Viewers.

I feel like Spongy shouldn’t have been just an honorable mention, since of the following reasons: -He got eliminated on BFB 16 with literally THE BIGGEST VOTES EVER ON THE ENTIRE OSC COMMUNITY. Like he got more than 20.000 votes, which is A LOT -When Spongy was saved by the split, he was still the first one eliminated from his team, meaning he is hated (BFB 16) and he also doesn’t have many fans anymore (BFB 18). So that’s why I think he should have been at least number 3.

I hope that pen is not here he is one of the best characters and he is great friends with blocky and blocky is my #1 favorite character!

Is it just me or did anyone forget that puffball even existed before this list (Sorry for my trash grammar)

It's sad that Spongy is overhated. He was my favorite character for being unique. He's the only big yellow squishy contestant. I always wonder why he is incredibly hated. He was eliminated with the highest votes (22 thousand) at the time. He also got voted to rejoin but got eliminated AGAIN in BFB 19. Why? I have no idea because he is the most hated and I can't think of anything to write right now.

Even though pencil and match are mean now they still are probably the most iconic and interesting characters in the show, they don’t deserve all the hate

Match kind of recovered in BFB 1 to 7 (Said good job to Bubble and Ruby for the small amount of votes, befriended herself with Spongy and Flower, was useful for her team a lot). But then BFB 8 had to ruin her reputation once and for all for a petty reason even though she apologized in BFB 11. She continues to be hated, it's not her fault that in BFB 16 she appeared as a second Pencil again, due to the influence of Pence Pence. The blame goes to the viewers, for not giving her a last chance after her redemption and character development. I hope she rejoins to recover fully from the hate she gets.

Update: The only surviving members of Freesmart are Ice Cube and Book, but they’re both in TPOT. Edit: I made this when TPOT wasn't out yet, so it seems as if Freesmart has completely collapsed as of TPOT 1, with Ice Cube and Book splitting up entirely.

I could probably make an entire video on Puffball in Season 2 (which I won’t), I remember it very well. Also, people figured out Puffball was eliminated *WAY* before JnJ confirmed it, especially considering how the voting system worked.

I never understood why people hated spongy just because he wanted respect. Him ditching his team was honestly the best choice in my eyes. He didn't deserve to be eliminated just because he didn't want to be seen as a let down, fat or annoying. Let alone a tool to win like in bfdia

even if people hate em, Cake will always be my favorite. I just hope he gets more screen time now that Loser is gone. Something of a redemption arc where he becomes more independent

Match and Pencil went from likeable bff's to straight up bullies. They made Bubble feel like she meant less and less to them. Eventually scaring her until she agreed with what they said and had no objections. Match and Pencil weren't my favorites, but now I completely disrespect them.

I am saying this again Woody went from scared, to being the cutest, still scared BUT willing like how he TORN Foldy. Gangsta. Also, he CARES for his friends. In the lava episode, he didn't want to leave Cake and Naily! If I see a single person going against this hippity hoppity keep off this property.

I still stand by the fact that Pencil and Match's personality shift, although not completely senseless for who they are, was the most JARRING shift and it completely excludes all the development Pencil was implied to have in between BFDIA and IDFB, independence from the friendship with Match, coming to become really good friends with Book and Ice Cube. BFB just ruined it all. Edit: just noticed I already watched this video and raised the same points as before. Guess I really am a diehard Match n' Pencil fan

I don't get why a character automatically gets eliminated just because they did something quote unquote "mean". Puffball used to be a fan favourite but now people still hate her only because she threw a challenge at her team to get a prize. Spongy has constantly been used and mocked, Whether it's his team impaling him on spikes just for their own benefit or shunning him when he got revenge, The viewers voted for him to leave when he got well deserved revenge. Pencil and Match used to be the most iconic characters on the show, But all (and only) because they bullied Bubble everyone hated them, And the next episode Pencil is literally the first one out of BFB, I guarantee you 95% of BFB character tier lists have Pencil and Match placed in the worst tier. Stapy was a well liked character among the community until he cheated, Take a wild guess at what happened to him next episode. We've seen characters like Heather doing stuff that are way worse but we still loved her, So why not these poor characters who get a ridiculous amount of hate for one mistake? But i guess like Nickel from Inanimate insanity said: "The audience is like a hungry pack of wolves who will eat you up at the slightest act of rudeness." Lollipop, Pencil, Match, Puffball, Stapy, Spongy, And others deserve a hug, A character's entire personality can't be summed up in only 30 minutes, Sadly the fanbase that gives these characters shit are either the 8-10 year olds who make up 90% of the community who whine over one "negative" remark or those who have nothing better to do than to follow the majority.

Rocky went from the most loved character period in BFDIA, to being eliminated twice in such a short time span.

Firey was widely unliked in the earlier episodes of BFB. Leafy too. The main reason Firey and Leafy get so many votes now is because of their relationship. If it wasn't a thing, they could have been eliminated already.
