You can put those lyrics over the first pokemon theme, and Gilligan's Island theme, because they're all the same meter

He’s tryna show u that rhythms r important because there’s a reason it works for multiple sounds , if that makes sense , have u never seen Ed sheeran playing popular hits with the same 4 notes on a guitar ?? Pretty dope but originality is always better but theres always a good balance u need

Ikr. I watch this Then I turn on Nirvana for a break and the lyrics to one of the tracks are: (chorus) " Doll steak. Test meat"😂 Partial verse "protector of the kennel-- ectoplasma ecto-skeletal ---obituary Birthday 😂😂😂😂 I love the way he turns those words and seemingly offbeat phrases that don't match, into beautiful hits.

Hey Tony, your videos are excellent. I'm playing guitar a while and I've tried to put lyrics to some chord progressions recently, but they always sound naff and consequently I struggle to finish a song. I've watched several other RU-vid videos on songwriting, but they're difficult to apply. Your videos are clear and comprehensive, so when you explain the songwriting process things make sense. For these reasons, I subscribed and downloaded your helpful cheat sheet...very many thanks. BTW, do you offer songwriting workshops in Dublin as I'm a Dub myself. Cheers!

I am four minutes in and I am lost lol. You had me up until about the three minute mark. I understand the stressed versus not stressed, but I don't understand why it's so important in the song. When I write lyrics I don't even think about that

I was always confused as to why some syllables are stressed while others are not. For example, the word 'see' in the phrase "see eye to eye" seems stressed to me but you said it's unstressed. Can you help to clarify this for me? Thanks and I love your videos!

You can put stress on any word but as a rule of thumb you want to stress the words that have the most meaning to what you are saying. Those words tend to be verbs, nouns, and adjectives. When speaking (most english speakers) place emphasis on the nouns for example "there's a HOUSE on the Street" da da DUM dada dum. when there are adjectives before nouns you place emphasis on the adjectives "there's a BIG house on the Street" da da DUM da da da dum when there is a denial in the sentence then you place emphasis on the denial "there's NO big House on the Street" da DUM da dum da da dum

I am new in this channel and I am really loving the way you explain thing, and above everything the use of Hooktheory as a tool (independent of you being one affiliate), for me that is the mos powerfull tool ever invented by human being to really understand melodies, rhythm and harmony visually, loving the way you gave us the tip to work on a sucessfull rhytm and create a new song, that were ideas in my head since I bought hooktheory but never tried , thanks a lot keep walking and sharing your knowledge with such a generousity bravo!!!

Nice and useful but the most important is the acutely of the words in rhytms.not so much in English as for other languages like in latin or Italian songs.Can you make a video for this?Is so important to our language that we have a lot of words in penultimate.

Is the “stressed syllable” always landing on down beats in the music? Or is it categorized as “strong/stressed” because of some other factor, like common practice pronunciation?

It varies depending on the song, there's also syncopation in a lot of songs. General rule of thumb is to put stressed syllables of important words on strong beats.
