5 MIN Evening (PM) Skincare That WORKS | Moisturizer & TRETINOIN (Retin-A) | CONSISTENCY is KEY
My current nighttime skincare routine is altogether no different than any of my prior routines I've shared, and that's precisely by design. It's been my experience in the nearly three decades of caring for my skin that, more than anything, consistency of routine is THE KEY to both efficacy and long-lasting success. The boringness of consistently performed positive habits, plus waiting to see results and staying focused on your desired outcome requires discipline and patience, but the return on your investment will be well worth it.

Hey Jen if you would lose 15 pounds, bleach your spotted skin, lighten your eggplant colored eyelids and undereyes with makeup, stop putting Filler in your face so that your mouth pulls up like a puppet on the sides, fix the skinny left side of your upper lip and wear green contacts, you would much better looking. Jennifer from my own personal experience, I have found that a really good eye cream is essential to preserving one's under eyes. Although you do not use an eye cream, you do use something much more moisturizing on your eyes than the rest of your face, which is the castor oil. I don't think one has to use an eye cream but even an oil will help. I personally use a very emollient eye cream and it has made all the difference. That being said, I absolutely agree with you on so many things. I also do not believe in getting work done, and I love that you do this consistent skincare. I have been using Retin A and I am just starting to get glass-like skin here and there after peeling, after like 9 months of use, but I can only use it twice a week at this time. It is actually better for aging to use the same ingredients and not change it up too much, which will disrupt the PH balance of one's face causing it to age more. Your skin is goals! So flawless. Hope you are well and so good to see you back on here! :)

Are you using an organic brand? They don't tend to make the eyes water or cause eye bags, at least, not usually...It might interest you, but I tried something ridiculous for my face lately and I see a difference in my skin quality/eye bags. It's the Nivea skin firming body gel lol. CoQ10 seems to be the answer for my skin.

@@6tatev Thank you for the suggestion. That might be it! I use castor oil…I have to check if it’s organic. I also probably should use “black” castor oil.. I heard that’s the one that helps with hair growth. Thanks again for taking the time to answer.

@@ginolino2072 you’re welcome, I had the same issue. I have also heard that black castor oil, because it is roasted I believe, can be an irritant as well (it has ash or something like it), but have also heard people have success with it. Good luck!

6tatev I just checked and my Castor oil is in fact organic BUT I checked he expiration date (I didn’t think there would be one on this oil) and it expired earlier this year, that might be it. I hope this helps someone else who is developing under eye bags from using Castor oil.

A fun little thing: I've been on tretinoin for 1 year now, and my eye skin now tolerates tretinoin... This is from someone who used to struggle with eczema and broken skin a lot, even had a year ish long eczema flare excatly around the eyes because of a sunburn. I'm using Cordes Vas 0,05mg, which supposedly corresponds with 0,05%, and theres just not the same soreness happening as there was one year ago. That soreness was mostly the neck, but eyes really did seem off limits. Now i can put it anywhere in the face, next to no negative reaction. Did also probably build up tolerance having used 1%retinol arond the eyes during some of the process. Just an anecdote.

Hi Jennifer thank you for the updated skincare. Please keep making them. Do you use Tretinoin on your neck and chest. Do you use moisturizer first to buffer. Also do you have any sunscreen recommendations for sensitive skin. I appreciate you sharing all your knowledge on skincare. It has helped me simplify my skincare. I used to use so many products, but the simpler my skincare is the better my skin gets. Thank you again. 😊

Do you feel the use of acids is needed if you are already using tretinoin regularly?
@dianarusnov292
@dianarusnov292 2 года назад
I have watched her videos for quite some time and I don't believe she uses any acids, apart from Vitamin C! You'll get great results from Tretinoin alone as evidenced by her skin, but I personally love adding acids in myself because I'm quite oily and prone to comedones. They help exfoliate and give a glow, but they're not necessary at all.

How do you get a prescription for Tretinoin if you have no acne or other visible skin problems? Your skin looks so flawless but you're still getting prescriptions for it. I would really like to use it too but I don't know how I should convince a dermatoligist that I need it since I have no acne and I only want it for anti-aging and beauty purposes.

Hi Jennifer, you are my biggest inspiration, I have started my tretinoin journey because of you, although I was already familiar with the product. My skincare is realy simple: spf, moisturizer, cleanser, tretinoin and that's all, I don't wear makeup too. But I'm thinking about using vitamin C in the morning, but I don't know how will my skin react to it because of tretinoin. I feel like tretinoin is a spoiled baby that doesn't go along with anything really. Any advice?

I've heard that vaseline is great but it shouldn't be a substitute for moisturizer so you could use any non comedogenic moisturizer available and then you could use vaseline over it
