A quick demo of the POG2 from Electro-Harmonix. Playing the usual Nash T-57 telecaster into a Morgan RCA35. Find one on Reverb: reverb.grsm.io... More Info: www.ehx.com/pro...
The 5:00-5:20 mark makes this the best review of this pedal ever. No one has ever shown this feature. Nearly All other reviews (that I've seen) just say, "Make your guitar sound like a 12 string." Or, "Make your guitar sound like an organ." Yeah, we know that. It's an ehx pedal we know theres some crazy cool stuff buried in there. Thanks for making the best review/demo ever for this box!
+Andrew Malenda Thanks for watching! Saving/Recalling is pretty easy, actually. To save a preset, you just hold down that big white button at the top right (looking at the video). All the lights below it flash to know it worked. Easy. Recalling you just press that big button once to get into preset mode - the LED on the bottom left above "preset" lights up. Then one of the 8 lights on the right under the white knob lights up to let you know which of the 8 you're currently on. If you stomp the preset switch, it cycles through the 8. So if the POG is on, and you're on a preset, all you have to do is step on the preset button once to go to the next one and it's instantly recalled. It's really user-friendly live....I just used two presets from it in my set last Sunday. :) Hope that helps!
+Ryan Kiesshauer You're right. It's pretty easy. I'm embarrassed now. After watching your video I figured it out. But more importantly, after watching your video i customized all of my presets. It's like having 8 pedals in 1. Thanks!
Thank you for focusing on the features of the pedal and illustrating them succinctly. Almost every pedal “review” video I’ve seen opens with tiresome noodling around on the guitar followed by more of the same with different settings. Your video made it easy to quickly understand what the pedal can do. Hats off to you for not using the video to show off what you can do. I’m sure that you play as clearly and eloquently as you think.
Great demo, thanks Ryan - I love the fact that you can tinker and then save your presets - EH have certainly knocked the ball out of the park this year with new pedals, the two organ machines and the soul food being great examples.
My boyfriend has this pedal and I can't wait to use it every now and then, maybe combine it with my zvex lofi junkie so having it explained like you do will certainly help me
I'm a little late to the party but finally got the POG2 on my board this week. Pairing it with the Source Audio Collider and I can honesty say it has cured my long battle with pedal GAS. Who'd of thought 🤔🤣👌
Great demo man. A concise 10+ min. Got right to it & did enough to help see all it can do. I got some of my own ideas for how to use it without you having to show it because you explained everything well. I'm getting one.
Hi! Im Troy McClure. You might remember me from such pedal demonstrations as “the shame of boss on your pedalboard” and “attack of the bad quality buffers”
Great review. I'm buying one sometime soon hopefully and I learned a ton from this vid. I wish more people would make reviews like this. (You should've gone on longer. I was really enjoying it haha)
Excellent explanation/You hit the prime feature's.I'm using a Nano P O G primarily for a Bass effect.Sounds glorious w/ My Engl Fireball N is Super fuzzed out w/ the Amp's distortion/Thinking of picking this one up since it's very versatile.Nice demo gotta check out the rest of your channel...
love this rig unit ,the pog 2 ,it earned a spot in my new contempery christian title cut track ,The Lion By My Side, works really well with other units i am currently using
This pedal stands apart in terms of usefulness and variety. I'd probably just set up 8 presets...and never tweak the other knobs very often. Simplify. Play. Connect. Carry.
Q doesn't add a "crispyness to the high end". It makes the resonant peak of the LP filter sharper. If you move the LP filter slider with the Q button engaged you will hear what it does.
well if you move the LP filter slider down, it's not going to be crispy anymore, but the resonant peak will still be sharper. www.propellerheads.se/substance/discovering-reason/img/part36/Fig-2-resonant-LPF.png
+Rishard Lampese Thanks Rishard. I thought I did...whoops. You can program 8 presets by just holding that big white knob, and you cycle them with the preset switch. :)
I'm pretty sure the Q button is effecting the resonance of the LP Filter ... if you were to pull that LP filter down with the Q button on ... you'd notice more of a Wah sounding filter ... its pretty cool.
which is why you hear such a change in the high end when the LPF is all the way open and you're hitting the Q button ... because that resonance is happening right up there in that high end.
I don't come to Rick's channel to listen to forbidden songs or riffs, he's a good teacher and resource that ONLY helps perpetuate people's interest in music. Goddamn, industry people are stupid. Maybe the cars could work with Rick with 2.14 million subscribers and make money instead of getting nothing from a removed video.
hi, can you confirm that when you unplug the power cable the presets remain saved in the pedal's memory? I read that the presets disappear when you turn it on.
Yeah, I'd say so - it's an octave pedal, and 12 string guitars are just octaves on the extra strings, so you can definitely get 12 string sounds in my opinion!
Hi, could you help me? I would like to know if you know the function that reduces the amount of presets, I've looked in several forums but I haven't found it.
I just didn’t know if you were making a joke or not is all. :) Nothing wrong with a capo! Sometimes you need one if the part uses an open string and you change the key. There’s a pedal called a Drop (I think) that will fake tuning the guitar down and that can be useful in some cases.
+Stack Prone Micro if board space matters most to you and you mainly just want an octave effect -- Matthews Effects does a cool mod for it, too. But if you want to be able to auto-swell and want more control over the parameters, buy this one.
why are you using a gold monster but the other cable is a garbage planet waves? Ive had nothing but problems with planet waves cables. they are not very sturdy
I used to love the POG 2… but three sliders died, and the power jack has a shakey connection that spikes the amp brutally every time it goes in and out. I took it apart and cleaned all the sliders, waste of time. Now I have a $400 piece of trash. I have pedals that I have had for thirty years that work great… that were cheap. I only had this for five b4 it failed. I will never buy anything from EH again. Overpriced crap.
