Ditto.. Best hybrid since the ESQ-1 and oh MW1... Something magical about the digital waves into bubbling analog VCA and filters.. The DSI Evolver is another worthy partner to this club..

It’s really cheap in my opinion. You can make nearly full tracks with this thing alone, but with a high quality sound

There are much more beautiful saturation points than just the asic bug. There is derez, analog vca overdrive, wavefolding, noise modulating anything, audio rate modulating oscillators with a looping free or wave eg, fm filters. So many ways to get dusty particulate out of this thing. It’s really a magical synth And it’s only overpriced in the U.S. because of Korg distribution’s added markup. You can buy outside of America for the actual price which is about $1000 cheaper

@@christdolphin69 Yes, thanks for adding that! I just mentioned the asic bug because it is such a unique and characteristic feature I wouldn't want to miss. I'm in Gernany and bought one second hand, so really can't complain about the price. I'm thinking about getting the voice expansion when it's available again...

1500 for a 8 Voice Analog-Hybrid, with Full-Stereo, 4-Part Multitimbral with Single Outputs Synth is expensive? I cannot find a cheaper option on the market , which also has THAT sound.

@@Ennuae You could easily just buy a Korg, Arturia, or something even from Sequential....but honestly I thought it was gonna be like 3 grand+ knowing Waldorf, so it is cheaper than I expected....not a bad buy. but my current car cost about the same.

I am sorry that WM still trying produce it in Germany, giving the job for subcontractors, german PCB producers. I am really sorry that WM have to charge 15 hundreds, trying to pay all taxes, good salaries and staying profitable in harsh modern economic conditions. And I am extremely sorry that synth community still can't cope the simple fact that UB is not investing into development, just copying old ideas endlessly, not paying for R&D as Waldorf Music does. It is really bad, that Waldorf M has aluminium knobs instead of cheap plastic, which are decomposing after several years (I have a couple of such synths with sticky knobs). BTW, I am personally as contracting developer for Waldorf Music pay the taxes from the money, which I receiving for this job. And, to allow the development, I am charging lowest possible hour rate for it (which is really, really bad), just to give a chance or better to say, possibility for the future M improvements. Please, try to think through this with no emotions. It is how the thing run under the modern circumstances, nothing less, nothing more. 🖖Live long and prosper, all of you.
