I mean the juke r is kinda in a weird place. If most people where to see it in the street, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and a normal juke. I think a sleeper is less about the cost and more about the looks and performance.
Love the Chevy SS. Wish GM would’ve done more for it. It was between a 2016 SS or 2012 CTS V. Ended up getting the V but sometimes that decision keeps me up at night😂
The Buick GS has been a great sleeper for a while, best value on the list imo but the SS w the 6 speed is dope and the track hawk is just insane, good thing it isn't cheap.
Hi I just wanted to drop an honorable mention I own a 2015 AWD Q40 and surprisingly enough I found this car to be quite the sleeper. I wasn't expecting the power because I didn't buy it for it but it has a surprisingly quick off the line reaction time. With 338HP and AWD buying it for as cheap as I did it was a welcoming surprise.

It's made by gm, they have other brands over sees that are significantly similar, just as Ford has too. But Buick is fully an American car, if yall dont trust me google knows everything lmao
Great video. As an owner of a Taurus, it's an underrated car. I'd never recommend the SHO for anything but a lease. The engine is too powerful for the transmission. Asking for problems.
Lol so in Australia our SS Commodore was replaced by the GS which is badged as a Holden Commodore now. We did have sedans much more powerful then the SS, some had the LSA with a manual too. I was driving one today called a Clubsport R8 which is a supercharged 6.2ltr and it was manual 😆 amazing car!!

K, I knew I wasn't going crazy! The Holden was always great to me (the pick-up too), it would've been#1 for me especially since the Trackhawk costs an arm, leg, back skin, a gallon of blood, 1st born, & your left "family jewel"!!!
my Aunt had a Buick Regal GS 455 back in the day. On occasion i would be asked to go to the store to pick up something. Being around 18 years old I never said no. That car would smoke the tires for a block. Loved that car.
I think the perfect sleeper car is Audi S4 b8.5. its supercharged and most people think its an A4. But it can pack a lot of power and punch instantaneous throttle. It can reach 0-60 in 4.4 seconds but get it a stage one tune and u can easily reach the 3's.

The Juke Conspiracy: Nissan intentionally took cues from one of the most popular cars of all time. Rounded lines and corners. Unusual design. The size. And the biggest giveaway is the headlight configuration with the markers. You can easily confuse a Juke approaching you at night with the lights on with a vintage Volkswagon Beetle.
You went straight down the list of my favorite cars... Which in the number 1 spot happens to be the 2017 Buick Lacrosse, getting the numbers you mentioned at the end of the video. But the SS and the Taurus SHO are two of my all time favorites as well. And shout out to the 2019 Toyota Avalon! Not as much of a performer but damn what a nice car.
Love my 2010 Ford Tarus Sho I have my Sho tuned to 415 hp and trust me many people get suprised when i fly past them. So many good things with the Sho! Heated cooled seats push to start Navigation Awd Moonroof Massaging seats. I have about 184000 miles and still goes strong. When you take care of your car it will go for a long time. No engine light no issues
V8 engines are not classified as sleepers , now matter how bad they look ...it’s simply a powerful massive machine .. how ever appreciate your videos Keep it up !

The Chevvy SS as mentioned was a Holden Commodore, as Australia no longer builds cars (Holden/Ford/Toyota all closed together) after the govt made some stupid decisions resulting in the treasurer saying & I quote "We DARE them to leave" So they left. The Regal you also mentioned is for sale in Australia as the new Commodore. Australians REFUSE to even consider the Regal (Here ZB Commodore) because it's nothing like the aforementioned Chevvy SS Though the rest of the world really enjoy the Insignia/Regal/Commodore...Which is now designed/built in Germany, Aussies & Kiwis aren't buying it. Compare the top spec Chevvy SS with the new top spec Regal, you can't...They're nothing alike. Here is our sadness.
@@VehicleVirals Now I'm a Holden man don't get me wrong, but nobody ever talks about the amazing cars built here by Ford. Look into the Ford Falcon, Ford's life rival to the Commodore XR8/XR6Turbo & their FPV division. Holden & their HSV division or the V6 Commodore. Australia had a long history of vehicle manufacturing that the rest of the world are unaware of. I'd love to see a foreign content creator delve into that & really showcase that to the world
.....but you know that GM took the components production in small steps out of Australia long before the car manufactory lines stopped operating, meaning job losses and Ford did just the same. The Australian Government also stopped giving money when finding out that this boost to cover the high production cost in Australia went overseas to help out with overseas in the jamm situations. The ultimatum to use that money here and only here in Australia or else went on deaf ears. The even told the government not to interfere in their affairs and this is why the subventions really stopped.

I wouldn't call my 2012 Lincoln MKZ a sleeper car but it's 267 horse power 3.5 liter V6 engine, 6 speed slap stick transmission and full time all wheel drive surprised a few of my friends when I let them drive it right after I got it. It doesn't do a lot from the line but I like to watch their heads bounce off the head rest when we get up to 30 MPH and I tell them to floor it. The tach looks like a windshield wiper when it jumps from 1,500 to 7,000 RPM in a flash. Only a select few of my friends got to do that and only once.
If you look around, you can pick up used Caprice police cars that were never offered to the public. The top engine was 360 or so hp. But I believe many had V6s. The advantage of them is that you can modify the heck out of them without messing up your modern classic SS, and still have the look of the SS. Why GM only offered the top of the line SS to the public is confusing. They seemed to sell numerous Pontiac G8s of all trim levels, and probably would have sold numerous Caprices or SS cars with lower trim levels besides to just police forces if they offered them. Besides, the G8 had a 260 hp V6, whereas it is now over 300 hp, so a lower level SS wouldn't have been a slouch. They really should have studied the modern Charger for reference. The SS was a fantastic car, but to compare it to the Charger, at 415hp, it was slightly above Hemi, but not quite 392 (475 hp). And that was it...no base V6 or Hellcat competition engines.
I can see a debadged Buick being pretty sweet. The body style is slick, imo. It's just the taboo of the manufacturer name that is off-putting. Lovely car though!

Number 5. That be a Vauxhall Insignia dear boy (Opel Insignia if you're in Europe). Strange how it has a V6 engine in the US though. Biggest engine we get over here in the UK is the 1.6T 200ps engine lifted out of the Astra K. Though that engine is a bit of a sleeper in the Astra as it gives you a 0-62mph of 6.6 secs, rivalling the more expensive Ford Focus ST or Fiesta ST.
One thing you missed that distinguishes the Trackhawk: they removed the fog lights to make room for larger air intakes, so where the fog lights would normally be, you have intake vents.

The Buick is also a re-badged holden commodore as the late 2018 model and 2019 model and people hate it here in Australia because it's all-wheel drive and takes away the un-traditional holden commodore V6 and V8 powered rear wheel drive.
The Nissan Juke R....I drove the basic 30,000 car a couple years ago...It was a very nice car....Handled well....I liked the AWD in the snow and winter weather....decent gas mileage....I borrowed it from a friend, so I didn't goose it or push it too hard.
Should have added an Audi RS3. 0-60 in 3.6 - 3.9 seconds with 1/4 mile in 11.7 stock. Tune , downpipe with IC are banging out 10’s in the 1/4. Tuner car of the century. Launch control is fun. The 5 cylinder is a beast!
Valtteri Bottas what? Of course they are. The higher end models like the FPV’s and the 6 Sprints were not sleepers but the normal XR6 T’s were since they weren’t something too special. Plus it’s very easy to get power out of the Barra’s and chop a commodore with it mate.

My friend has A Straight Piped Chevy SS. First thing. The ride was so comfortable. That magnet suspension is legit. He had work done to the engine it was very fast. Main thing that was holding his Automatic back was the transmission. It was good but to sluggish to keep up with the power he was making. He is getting an upgraded trans. At some point.
I understand how SHO and SS sound less intimidating and are definite sleeper names, but if you say "I drive a Jeep Trackhawk", no one is going to say, "that sounds like a family car". Just saying.

Although the SS comes close, the GS is the only true sleeper on this list. It looks totally normal, but kicks butt. Maybe not completely, but respectably. My dream is to take an old Volvo 240 sedan or wagon that is showing its age but has good bones and drop a crate motor in it . Ultimate sleeper!
The Passat CC 2013 With the 3.6l V6 engine with 300hp is also a good car for this list.Dunno if you guys got the Regular Passat estate with the V6 (2007)..Now thats one sleeper car!
One car people forget as a sleeper is the Infiniti Q50 Redsport. It looks like just another boring 4 dr sedan but can really move. In fact, the G35, G37 and Q50 sedans are all fast cars but look unassuming.
A sleeper car/truck was coined in America back in the late 60s 70s as A vehicle that is modified above its original build to win races against existing known faster vehicles that could never loose a street race. Basically just to win big money against hot rods of the day because back then you could offer up a street race between two cars and rarely would we look under the hoods, but would rather judge who will win from just looking at the make and model, hence Sleeper , like a sofa with a hidden sleeper ....
2002 - 2003 Acura CL Type S with an aftermarket Turbo, exhaust, and intake is one powerful aftermarket for under $5000. The 3.2 L SOHC VTEC J-series V6 powerful engine for a car of that time
You wanna see a real sleeper? Look at the BMW X5 50i. I had one before I upgraded to a 2018 X5M which is ridiculously fast. The X5 50i can run a 4.3 0-60 and has a twin turbo charged 4.4 liter V8 engine that packs 480 horsepower and 470ish pound feet of torque. The roll on this car is stupid fast, can keep up with most super cars. I wouldnt count the X5M as a sleeper because 1, its an M series and has the M emblem on it so you should know its fast, and 2, the exhaust on it is one of the best sounding stock exhausts I have ever heard, a huge upgrade from the older versions. But for people who dont know cars and dont understand the M emblem, it would probably be the fastest sleeper car ever. The BMW X5M has a 4.4 V8 with 576 horsepower and the same exact amount for pound feet of torque. This results in a 3.6 second 0-60 and a quarter mile in the low 11 seconds. This car has a roll faster than any car I have ever been in and on top of that has almost a perfect weight distribution between the front and rear. For 120,000 dollars retail with everything included (but honestly you can get dealerships down to 100 grand even and maybe even lower since they are hard to sell since they are so expensive) it is the perfect car to showboat in, take to car meets, it is a perfect family car as well since it feels so smooth cruising at low speeds, and also a car you can bump your music in. The upgraded Bang and Olufsen speaker system is the most high quality speaker system I have ever heard in a car. You can turn it up a fourth of the way from all the way up and it will already be louder then almost any bass put in a car. And it doesn't lose any sound quality when turned all the way up. It is super fun to drive, and it has one of the most beautiful interiors wathith everything being either leather or carbon fiber. Amazing car, definitely a great buy if you can afford it. The X5 50i, although the lower version of the X5M, sitting a little cheaper at around 80 grand, also has all those qualities in the X5M, but basically just a nerfed version. By the way did I mention that the X5M has 325 mm wide z class rear tires (the same tires in a McLaren P1) and 285 rears.
I hope you look at Small Sleeper cars. My little Subaru Legacy blew a Chevy V-8 Malibu away off the line. He Never caught up. Thanks to the Boxer Engine and CVT transmission with Paddle Shift.
Not sure if you have the bmw m140i or m240i in the US but they look like a cute little 1 or 2 series bmw but with bmw M2/last gen M3 performance. Relative light and hug corners with 340bhp, just about sub 13 sec 1/4
