Don't compare your chapter 1 to Chris's chapter 10. Be at your chapter now and make your own way through like he did, there's no shortcuts. The transitions are the hardest and highly contextual to you which can't be covered by rules or advice. Don't be hard on yourself, resolve.
Very well said. Just because there's a vast amount of knowledge on the internet doesn't mean we'll arrive at our goal any quicker. Learning these things takes time as we apply them in real life.
Main points mentioned in this video: 1. Learn how to have the money conversation. 2. Delegate some of the work you’re doing not to get burnt out. 3. Shift from hourly based. 4. Focus, focus, focus.
It's interesting to think about focusing on investing into yourself. It's nice to have a goal like that, to invest into yourself until your market value growth slows down, comparable to how much you're putting in. It's kind of hard to know what makes sense to invest in long term, so this is very practical and clearly defined goal. I like clarity. Small things like this can save years of my life. I've been through unclear life goals - not fun. I think you really have to know your stuff and have some contacts to start an agency. When you're competing with cheap labor market from Asia, you need to be more sure that you can deliver.
I am in my Year One doing Branding Projects, and this video means a lot for anchoring my 2023! Thank you so much, Chris! Will work out more on your #1 and #4 Points! Who knows, my out of Passion Branding Studio could be a Branding Agency by end of year *praying*
The Futur has been the best thing that ever happened to my learning journey! I went to school for business, but honestly feel like nothing really changed till I started implementing the futur’s tips! Thank you Chris, please keep putting out value 🎉
Your RU-vid content is absolutely amazing Chris!! I can’t say enough about what you’re providing for so many entrepreneurs and how concise you are at sharing it. You bring on amazing guests too. Thank you for all that you provide for the entrepreneurial go getters out there.
Chris, your advice and coaching is really priceless and so useful for all small business owners, not just design professionals. Thank you so much for the time and energy you spend sharing your experience so we call can learn from it. I’m definitely one of your million. Please keep going.
Chris your channel helped me go from jr graphic designer to art director this year. Didn't think it could happen so fast. Thank you so much from me and my family. Also, I'm reading Socratic Selling right now which you recommended, and damn... that's a good book. It's answered a lot of questions about selling that I didn't even know I had.
After months of not watching TheFutur, then I saw this in my YT recommendation. And This video is just straight up GOLD. It's good to watch their videos again and what's more in TheFutur channel.
Quite impressive but HOW!!?😊 I know it's possible, my colleague at work always get 40K every week, I would appreciate if you show me how to go about it.
@@miaangela5857 After I got up to $300k trading with Mrs Mary Lynn Crawford i bought a new House and I'm now able to send my kids to a better school in the states thanks to her. When someone is straight forward with what he or she is doing people will always speak up for them.
Probably the best video of 2023 for me thus far. This was super helpful, saved it for future reference also. The pressure equation and lesson on talking about money are critical in my area.
Thanks for covering the issue of money. If I could have my way, I'd just make things and never have to talk about it. But like you said, when we don't talk about money, it becomes this anxiety inducing thing that creates problems. Using the bracketing/range strategy to talk about price is really helpful :) I literally need the words to say when talking to clients because it doesn't come naturally to me
This channel has given me a totally new perspective on work and business. If you're looking to up your business skills, watch all this channel's content.
I really felt that "we are stressed by the things we don't say" deep in my bones because i don't talk much and a lot of times am stuck thinking too much
It always comes back to value. I have to constantly remind myself that "it's not about how to get money from the client, it's about helping the client receive value". Once I look through that lens, I just start asking the right questions.
Really loved this one. I get the most out of your videos when, like this one, you’re actually being very hands-on with your advice and tips. You’re killing it. 🖖
Oh boy dat was SOLID! After 12 years working way more than I would like as a solo-dev-preneur, I knew i had to improve my delegation skills and have been working on it, but the money-talk was an eye opener for me, I've done that before (price brackets), but I never Actually realized the psychological effect and how this can be effectively used until now. I've been learning those concepts the hard way so I have total respect and appreciation for what you are doing here Chris, Big Thank You for sharing your knowledge with us!
It's amazing how smart utilisation of initial success ($) can translate to even bigger success in time. Lessons 1 & 2 were really insightful, thank you Chris!
🤯 omg!!! My customers were never happy with my hourly based pricing. They were always trying to game the system. How can I get more out of her for the price? I hate custom jobs. They always try to get me to do things that aren’t my specialty. Then they aren’t happy. This was awesome!
It's mind-blowing how much I continuously learn from The Futur despite the amount of experience I have acquired. I forever wish to be eager to learn and expand my knowledge and experience no matter where I go. So keep up the good work, you all. Thank you.
Every time I've heard you talk about price bracketing, I've always heard you teach us to say the bigger number first. This video taught me there can be an inverse, which I can use in certain instances where I'm unsure of bopping up my rates. Rule of thumb though is to use a very comfortable price as the lowest so that even though the client thinks they got a bargain, I get a very comfortable pay.
Pure Gold! best thing I to kick start a new year with.. hoping to take big leaps in my freelance art biz! thanks Chirs! more power to you happy new year!
I'm here for Chris' happy face. And, yes, solid wisdom here. Especially 'saying no' to hone in on one skill. Incredibly difficult to do, but there's no other way.
Thank you for this...I was not allowed as a kid to talk about money and watching your videos, I see your talent! Wow! I will refer to these again and again! I have already sent this to someone for them to watch and subscribe! (by the way Space for Edit highly recommended your videos! She deserves a SHOUT OUT TOO!) Thank you again!
Shying from the money conversation will just make the deal quench the fire. Just tell it straight because a lot of times the decision maker is waiting for you to say the price. I've done a lot of outsourcing, closing deals, and hiring other people from my previous job in the construction industry and that's how we press the pulse.
Thank you so much Chris! I applying for a job and I'll need to talk about money soon. Also definitely agree, investing in yourself is one of the most valuable thing we can do as humans because it increases our energy and our self esteem. At the end unconsciously that is notices and valued by the people you work with. Also it is very important that part to risk but risk that responsibly and also to create value for people!
Chris, what do you see as healthy limits when negotiating prices on a project that can multiply its value by many times? E.G.: make a design where the client will "recycle" many times over without the need of paying you for every little change whenever they reuse it. Thank you for the passion and inspiration that you distribute through your channel.
Again, this channel and Chris' advices have been of the greatest value to me on RU-vid... and I have learn a lot via RU-vid. Keep doing what you do. - From Jamaica.
Well If i've known these things 10 years ago money problems would be out of the equation right now. But hey I'm alive and lucky enough to see you and Alex Hormozi's works. Thank you for giving so much value. You guys are changing how I see the business world and see a brighter path. The usual way i saw people work is to win by taking from others and I hated it. Winning by giving, sharing and creating opportunities is a great way of living and I believe it makes the world around us better. So much value in one video that I have to rewatch this several times and apply as fast as I can to digest what you're telling. If there is any advice you can give to internalize what you teach faster, I would appreciate that. Thank you for what you do.
Show me the Money!! 😅 Cheers Chris, thanks a million for the top tipps. Got the money talk tomorrow for a new project. Fingers crossed it works out. Big shout from Hamburg. 🤟🏼
I love when my fav people know or recognize eachother, it makes me feel I'm heading in the right direction . I been watching your videos when they were hour+ content II am happy that you have shortened it up lol. Appreciate this information !
Thanks Chris. my key take away is Focus. I have been doing so many things graphics, motion, web. And I realised I wasn't focused. its high time I decide on one direction. That's website design which am pretty good at. that will be my direction for 2023, I will build my brand around that. thanks for the advice.
The most topic I have learned and with have helped me all the time us the money talk thanks Chris for teaching us this very valuable potential as a designer
Wow, this is really valuable and rich, truly love the idea of investing in yourself. Your videos are always amazing and I learn a tons of things anytime I watch them. Thank you so much
i am starting to realize how shity I am selling my works I am from the Philippines and people around me don't talk about how money works thank you for your videos and my self breaking out from those people
Chris, I finish my bachelor's in February 2023. And I was curious about your recommendation: QUESTION: Would you recommend working for someone with more experience? Or building your own thing if you got proof you can earn more doing it yourself? I aim to sell a transformation focusing on a single problem requiring multiple skills I've already built during college (research, writing, design, front-end development). I've noticed that people who work at agencies or in-house design teams only get better at design & stakeholder management.
Hey Chris, thanks so much for giving us so much value! It feels wrong to listen to this for free ❤ If you or one of your team members could share what plug-in you use to achieve that paper cutout effect I'd be so grateful 🙏
Price brackets is also used by restaurants for their wine by the glass. Most people choose the wine just above the cheapest because they don’t want to look un-wine savvy by choosing the cheapest. Restaurants will mark this one up the most increasing their profits significantly. Best bang for your buck is the cheapest!
Thanks heaps Chris! So valuable. How do you delegate in consulting work without breaking the NDA because the client hires you as freelancer, not your company?
