Was on dutasteride for a year after also trying finasteride for a year. Sadly I didn't get any results that were significantly better than when I was on finasteride, although i did find I could lessen my dosage frequency with dutasteride and still maintain much easier than finasteride. I do think you have to be aware of the excess testosterone that dutasteride promotes on the scalp as it is androgenic alopecia and for some people this can cause more damage and is why you probably hear horror stories of dutasteride ruining people's hairline etc. Overall 2 great drugs but I would definitely recommend RU instead instead dutasteride as you're essentially already blocking dht enough with finasteride and you'd get better results promoting hair growth and maintenance using a different pathway methodology. Glad youre getting results man! Waiting on getting my hairline transplant as I'm 22 rn.

Wow you're back. We missed you. So excited. I just decided to cut my hair about a month ago. Started taking msm because I heard that it works for hair growth. I did notice that in the area at the back where the problems are that there are fine hairs really fine baby hair where there was literally nothing. The treatments were becoming a bit expensive with no results. So I stopped and I guess accepting the situation also brought relief. Something seems to have worked. We'll see how it goes.

I don't like that since I like my natural skin tone. But want a more natural alternative to grow my hair. Fenugreek is good too. You can pick it up at your local grocery store as a herb, or seeds and powder which I pick up from the local Asian stores. Taking Finasteride will help hair to go back to its normal state which is thicker so your head will look like it has more hair. Some will regrow and those are the ones that still have a dormant follicle or are super thin that you can't notice them.

I've also been using dutasteride for five months at a dose of 0.5mg per day. During the previous five months, I used dutasteride once a week and finasteride the other six days, but that made my hair loss progress rapidly. It seems to be more stable now that I use dutasteride every day. It was a bold move by my dermatologist, but it's the right choice for saving my hair. Over two months ago, I started using oral minoxidil and foam minoxidil every day. It might be unnecessary to use both forms of minoxidil, but I really want to regrow the hair that I lost between December and May.

[23yo] Was taking dutasteride 0.5mg daily and quit finasteride completely starting June 26th of this year. Was fine for 3 weeks and then dht levels got so low that I started experience pretty bad sexual side effects (ED) and testicular soreness. Went down to 3x/week and still experienced ED. Currently on 1.25mg Fin 6x/week and 0.5mg Dut 1x/week. All sides are gone at this point. Experienced a pretty crazy shed during July into early August which is now long over. Shedding much less hair now than when I was just on fin. Hard to notice any regrowth because i keep the top a bit longer + i had a HT back in April. Crown has been suffering ever since I stopped using Min (didnt see much regrowth from it anyway). Curious to see how the Fin + Dut + Dermarolling w/ Essential Oils will help in the future.

Eventually just go dut every day and drop the fin. I did it, and 3 years later best decision I ever made. Started fin 1mg ED September 1st 2018, went full Dut 0.5 (ED/7x week) October 15 2018 and never looked back. Regained some ground for about 1 year, nothing crazy but a decent portion, noticeably a lot thicker then baseline (October 2019) then stabilized there. Added 2.5mg min tablets August 15 2020, and by the 7 month mark I started seeing a significant difference in density where I could grow my hair out a lot longer and still improving as of today. Only shed the first 3 months of fin/dut, then only regrowth and stability. I started seeing regrowth 2 weeks into Min tablets, and it's only been uphill ever since with no shedding ever.

@@keratinbrotherhood Whatever works for you, experiment and test your results. Maybe look into oral Min and experiment there as well, studies show it's more effective then topical and probably more convenient then rubbing it into your hair twice a day. it happens to everybody shedding after taking Finasteride. That is the OLD hair follicle that was meant to fall off but Finasteride stop DHT from completely making your follicles thin and gone...so next it is the "regrow of the hair" BUT if your shedding has to do with genes (hereditary) then there is NOTHING you can do to stop it.

I’m currently past the 1 month mark with dut, didn’t notice any side effects as far as I’m concerned, been having some brain dizzyness every now and then, but it’s more likely due to the fact that I’m reaaaally overworked lately and just have a lot of stress. As for any gains, I think that my shedding is kinda slowing down bit by bit, used to lose a lot of short hairs every now and then when I was on fin, and now it seems that dut will maybe stop it, I dunno, hope so since that is the main reason I decided to completely nuke my dht 😅. I’m also noticing quite surprisingly a lot of small baby hairs just slightly before my present hairline, I wonder whether they’ll develop into anything concrete, since I’m also still using minox daily and doing microneedling when I have the time. Also, your hair is lookind quite dense right now, most people who don’t know „the struggle”, would not even notice any significant thinning I think ☺️

I've been feeling really insecure lately about my hair. All the men on both sides of my family went bald at a pretty young age. I'm 20 now and I can already tell it's starting to happen to me too. I just started treating it using Finasteride and Minoxidil this week. I hope it will help prevent any further hair loss but I'm anxious about it still.

@@Mike-dt1yg I haven't lost too much, I still have a lot of hair. But no one told me not to start on minoxidil early on. Minoxidil has been kind of a pain. I've been applying it for about a month now. Do you think if I stopped applying it would that have negative effects?

Hey man, thanks for the updates! Have you had your liver enzymes checked at all? I've heard Fin/Dut can raise them but it might only be in certain individuals, I don't know, just heard about it. I know you're into the literature so you may know about this subject already :)

Hey DJ i have been on finasteride for a little over a year now with zero side effects. I didn't experience any shedding when i first took it. I am 27 with a receded hairline but no loss anywhere else so obviously im trying to prevent any future receding. I have been thinking about adding dutasteride as well as staying on finasteride daily, how many days a week do you recommend i take dutasteride? Thank you in an advance for the response.

Hello Sir, I would like to ask you something about Topical fibers. I heard some of them (Toppik) contain ammonium chloride, I also heard that in general inhalation of nanofibers over a long period of time present health issues (in your lunges) Can you tell me more about it ? Or maybe it can be the subject of a future video ? Thanks

Taking Finasteride will help hair to go back to its normal state which is thicker so your head will look like there is more hair. Some will regrow and those are the ones that still have a dormant follicle or are super thin that you can't notice them.
