@@heavensdork2943 nair doesn't kill. Palu is amazing at dealing damage and good at killing but her kill options are likely the worst part of her game (still good though since she's top 10)
@@opheliavalentine6058 finman's former self was uninformed I looked at this just today and I realised that, although palu has a little bit of hard time killing at the top top level, but palu doesn't remotely struggle to kill overall. Got a god damn fucking kill throw
@@finmin2k Yay! Glad you see it. I agree. She does have to play smart in top level tournaments because her kill options can become predictable. Oh and that nerf to her down throw back air combo but that was balanced out cause they gave her uptilt.
They have super fast reaction and perfect timing They go for unrealistic options and move choices They throw out random bad moves They don't combo well They don't think like a human
Your vids have helped me develop as a player and have made me the #2 best player in my school. I’ve been subscribed since 10k and I want to thank you for your help.
Having fun actually improves your memory, in case you didn't know. So if you have fun while playing Smash, the stuff you're trying to learn (like new techniques and combos) will stick with you better.
So sorry about your computer! But this is another super helpful video without any extra fluff! You make another great point about reads. People want to make a flashy play and show how hard they read something, but it is often best to just commit less with a combo starter rather than a smash attack. I know I'm guilty of it.
I have 5,000,000 GSP with Little Mac even though I only took him for a whirl a few times. Meanwhile, I'm currently looking to main Joker and I only have around 2,900,000 GSP with him.
Song as the end is part of the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X Cute Medley “Idol Sounds” featuring Mitchie M’s “Freely Tomorrow,” “Eazy Dance,” “Ageage Again,” and “Blooming the Idol,” all of which are sung by Hatsune Miku ...Just in case anyone cared
Pikachu Main here, too easy to combo heavies once you've landed that first up tilt or down throw, predicting combo starters is the way to go in matchups like that one.
I’ve picked up on my habit of trying to block smash attacks a lot, which drains my shield a lot. Luckily I now know that there are only certain moves to block. Also, I know that some people wait out a shield to fake out their opponent. You helped me realize that noticing patterns is one of the keys to victory.
The Kill Mode is so true for me. One match I'll play exyremely well and have the advantage and the other I feel like I am doomed to lose from the start. Maybe it's just my beginner's lack of knowledge on how to gain the upper hand on most fighters but a lot of that thinking plays a part into this.
Heres some advice for the characters with falling dairs like ridley, if your going to use it offstage just assume you are going to die and find more optimal options if there are any
Oh my god this video came out at the perfect time and went over practically everything i needed help on, thank you so much man. i love your content, it’s entertaining and informative. keep it up
This is awesome! I'm a melee player, but I still love these kinds of videos as they are extremely thoughtful and apply to any smash game. Keep up the good work!
1:02 that clip comes from a Vice documentary about a mexican tradition that consists pretty much in that, the man who makes the biggest explosion hitting gunpowder with a hammer is recognized by the others. You can keep scrolling down the comments section.
It’s a good way to practice short hopping. Then fast falling on the short hop. Learning how to attack while rising. And falling on the short hop. Then fast falling with them
The two channels I watch that have helped me so much with smash are SmashBrosNovaScotia (Say that 3 times fast) and BananaBoy you really helped my with my bad habits and also made me improve so much (btw I main Ridley) I really love your videos and enjoy them very much thank you for the hard work you put into your videos
I have really benefited from these videos(like all of your videos) because i struggle online as a player(I have had literally every problem that you have mentioned), so thank you for making them! nice music there at the end btw
That first tip is ON POINT! I use Ganondorf and I rack up their damage super high and then struggle to kill. *_Let me remind you I'm using a character that kills at 30_* Will definitely keep all of these tips in mind. Thanks for helping me become a better Smash player!
Haha I needed this video. Sometimes I am very guilty of just fishing for the kill or spot dodging like my life depends on it. Thanks for the tips BananaBoy. :)
Each of the things you covered have been noted by my opponents giving me feedback and other people reviewing my sets over the course of about a month (since I started going to tournaments). My work is cut out for me for sure, and I have quite a bit of optimizing to do. However, I have confidence, motivation, and importantly, time, and I truly believe that with time and practice I can finally reach the skill level and awareness needed to reach for a place on my state's PR rankings.
For those of you who feel like you'll never be good, hang in there. I remember when I first played and sucked so much, then I trained for hours every day and kept getting beat over and over. Sometimes you just have to find the right character for you. It took me a while but I found the right character for me and learned their timings perfectly. After all the trial and error, I'm still ass.
# 2 is HUGE. I recently hit a plateau where I felt like I wasn't improving at all, yet was still losing almost every game. After looking at some of my replays, and looking at different unorthodox methods of practice (Amiibo training can be surprisingly helpful) I realized I was over committing on everything. Every hit I got I tried to combo off of, even if I knew it wasn't safe. I was going for reads I didn't have, and trying to pressure with moves that were easily punished. As soon as I realized where the fault in my playstyle was, I improved exponentially.
I'm actually really guilty of constantly trying to ledge guard. I try to do it even when opponents have already come to the ledge. I have plenty of bad habits, so I'm glad to see that these videos are a thing.
Watching BananaBoy for Smash tips, check. Watching BananaBoy for good commentary and humor, check. Watching BananaBoy for Miku Hatsune, also check. This is gonna be a good time.
How do you deal with spammers I run into a lot of spammers and I don’t mean projectiles I mean smash attacks because is shield but after the smash attack they quickly do something that punishes me
1.) Don't get hit by the smash attack. If you're getting hit by raw smash attacks, you're either being predictable or getting punished for something you committed to (like jumping). Sure, it'll happen to everyone, but it shouldn't happen a lot. 2.) Parry 3.) Find the option out of shield that comes out faster than their ending lag on their attack. You will not be able to shield then smash attack, but you can probably grab them.
