Here in Canada our family of Swedish descent always had Angel Chimes and Tompte as decorations as well as Swedish chocolates sent by my Gr Aunt in Sweden.

I discovered that Swedish Christmas traditions are not so far from Italian ones: we also have advent calendar (I always choose one with chocolates!), Lucia (in some parts of the country), a flower called "Christmas star" and something about burning an object in the squares. And also the celebration of JULAFTON and ANNANDAGJUL! The big difference is that we eat particular food during this period, not the same of Easter or summer! Thanks for these interesting videos and of course... GOD JUL!!!

Lucia is totally stolen (and re adapted) from Italian culture. So for sure there is a lot of 😬similarities. Thank you for your positive comment! 😍

Coca-Cola are the no1 of soft drinks sales except during Chrismas when the sales of Julmust skyrockets in sweden. Coca-Cola spends a lot of money in sweden on commercials during chrismas trying to change our behavior but i guess we like our traditions

Tack så mycket för videon det är intressant! Grazie tante per il video! In Italy we have Lucia, “usually you recive or give sweets and little gift” ,Julstärna and Julbocken too. But Julbocken is celebrated on 6 January “Befana”- “witch” There are some little differences with the celebrations from North and South Italy but very little

Is Julmust similar to the Spanish "mosto" perhaps? 🧐 "Mosto" is, in short, the juice of the grapes before it starts its fermantation and becomes wine. In Spain mosto is easy to find in bars all year around
@FunSwedish
@FunSwedish 5 месяцев назад
Not 100 % sure it is the same. Julmust is without alcohol. But Mosto sounds really delicious!
@portclaire

8:01 the only julmust I've ever tried is the Ikea rebranded one, which I hear isn't the best. To me it tastes kind of like grape soda with added hops.

I wish we had something like Julkalendern for CNY or maybe Koliada🤷‍♀️ Too bad we don't- it'd have made said festivals more enjoyable (than they already are, ofc :D") 6:09 But you're not ugly though🥺 Wtf were people thinking making you wear that gingerbread man suit😭
