Godimm isn't evil, contrary to popular beliefs. He wants Geralt to win, because he wants Geralt to live. That's the only reason why you can win in the first place : Because he said so.
Yes, so powerful that he was the only one able to absorb and neutralize fully uncontroled and devastating Ciri's power, even in his weakest form. He was the only one who opened e real gate between worlds (only the most powerfuls can do that). He fought all the wild hunt alone several times, Eredin, Caranthir and Imlerith with their soldiers to let Ciri flee and the fact that he fell to a very powerful and ancien curse doesn't remove anything from his power. Still even being cursed he continued to be only focused on Ciri's safety, because himself knew how to remove the curse as he helped Yennefer with the correct spell finishing to remove the curse. He's an Aen Saeverne as Ida Emean and Ida also is very powerful (the most powerful of the lodge, even Francesca treats her with a very great deal of respect), being the one who said to Yennefer how to undo that curse.
You can tell me whatever you want but the unseen elder is unbelievably scary. I remember walking in that cave and seeing this guy hanging from the roof and then quickly turning around and grabbing me by the neck. So freaked out after that.
Geralt has a solid chance against any mage; we've seen this in both the books and games. They may have more raw magical power, but his speed and reflexes paired with his protective signs give him an edge. Even Yen and Ciri both said they couldn't beat him in a straight up fight. The Unseen Elder definitely would be a problem for Geralt and I don't know if he could beat him. In fact, any higher vampire is an issue for Geralt. In the 3rd book when they first discover what Regis is, Dandelion asks Geralt if he could beat him if it came to it. Geralt says he truly doesn't know if he could win; you should have included Regis haha. Regarding Gaunter, yeah he's truly on another level. Geralt did manage to out smart him at his own game, but only because he allowed it. Gaunter can literally control time and a lot of other things. He plays games simply because it amuses him, and puts in rules, because without rules, there wouldn't be any challenge for him
@@Stuartw100 I doubt vilgavortz would beat the unseen elder. He is extremly powerful but was defeated by geralt and the help of others. Unseen elder on the other hand "defeated" regis with a few words and completly destroyed geralt. Vilgafortz would prob. put up a decent fight but would die in the end. Just my opinion
I don't think O'Dimm "HAS" to abide by the rules of the game, he CHOOSES to play by the rules because otherwise it is no fun. He is so overpowered compared to mortals that simply destroying them brings little joy (he killed the man with a spoon and didn't play a game, simply swatting away a fly) because he KNOWS he can always win, therefore he makes rules so that mortals have the potential to win, even if it is implausible.
But when O'Dimm said he doesn't know where Ciri is (hidden in the Isle of mist) Is he just trying to stick to his own rule, or was Avallach's magic so good, thus he genuinely didn't know?
@@Torome86 you can’t try to go bro a deep analysis of one plot point and then say or it’s plot armour in that instance. Obviously you haven’t thought through your points.
@@pedrojuan8050 i think its more about known dimensions where they may hide.. Ciri was in some sealed state and thats probably why Gaunter couldnt find her, same goes for Eredin. Eredin could only find Ciri as soon as she woke up from her slumber. And we dont know the full extent of Gaunters full power, maybe hes only omnipotent in his own realm.
In a straight up 1v1 with no preparations: 1.O'Dimm (cause he can literally just stop time, summon a storm , make you trip over and break your neck , trap you in a picket dimension filled with shaded and mosnters etc all with minimal effort) 2.The Unseen Elder (literally can kill Geralt before he could even react or defend himself and is so powerfull even the likes of Detlaff and Regis are scared shitless of him) 3.Geralt ( his arsenal and skills make him one of the most versatile individuals in the series, not to mention he's beaten other witchers, sorceresses and Detlaff, albeit barely) 4.Ciri ( although she hasn't mastered her powers, thus we never see her maximum , but the fact that she was trained by effectively 4 different Witchers along with her ability to teleport and dash at superhuman speed she is definetly one of the most powerful beings in the series, but she would still lose to Geralt in a 1v1, she admits it herself) 5. Eredin (I feel like the King of the Wild Hunt doesn't get enough credit. The guy held his own against Geralt and has been shown to insanely durable, resisting Ciri's power when everyone else was being killed by it. We also have the fact that he's lived for a VERY long time and thus has even more experience in combat than even Geralt. Add his magic om top of that and you have one hell of an opponent)
@Johan Liebert Ciri outmtached Caranthir in every way. He only "won" because Ciri aimed for, and broke his staff which sent a shockwave that knocked her out. Replace that magical staff with any other weapon, and as Ciri proved, he is far inferior to her as a fighter. Now if Ciri is a bteeter fighter than him, which she proved, Geralt would eat him just like his king Eredin. He never shat on Geralt before that. And he only nearly Killed Geralt because for some reason Geralt stabbed him in the chest, leaving it there for about 3/4 seconds, twisting it, when he could have easily taken slit his throat just like he did with Eredin.
@@nadiahaji9808 Ciri is more powerful in terms of potential than anyone except from The Unseen Elder and G.O.D. That being said, Caranthir defeated her. He was the one that ran to his staff (source of his magic) to get in contact with Ciri to knock her out. And, they wanted her alive. That's why they tried to grab her all the time instead of burning her head with energy blasts. Obviously he isn't superior to Ciri without the stuff. That's like saying Geralt isn't superior to a certain monster without his swords. And Caranthir was veery close to defeating geralt without his staff. With the staff he would've demolished him. He froze an entire army easily, summoned the white frost giving both him and keira a lot of trouble, froze them all in kaer morhen (could have killed them), bested Eskel with barely any magic, bested Ciri and was the only that appeared conscious and focused when Ciri was screaming during the events of Kaer Morhen, saving Eredin.
@@tanguyenbao4791 Why that? 50x avalac'h + 50x catapults deck would do 😂+ He could also have Geralt spawn 10x poor fuckin infaltry and if he tries to redraw he gets more of those.
If we’re going by the video game canon, I think geralt is easily one of the most powerful beings in the Witcher. Him defeating Detlaff and Eredin on his own is evident of that, and that he’s clever enough to outsmart Gaunter at his own game. The only creature he probably couldn’t defeat is the unseen elder. I don’t think any other character in the games or books could pull this off.
True. Geralt is op, although he can't kill Gaunter only beat him in a game. Gaunter could outright kill him if he wished like he's killed many passerbys. The unseen elders as well are more powerful and potentially Ciri if she learned to control her power. Everyone else that appears in the games would have a hell of a time.
1. The only reason Geralt survived against the Wild Hunt is because of plot armor. Remember the battle of Kaer Morhen, when Geralt was frozen solid by the White Frost magic but completely untouched by the Hunt as they walked past him? 2. Geralt only won the challenge because O'Dimm gave him a chance. O'Dimm had complete control over his dimension, yet he deliberately left a fountain as a solution to his riddle.
@@brahmantyoihsan5938 Gotta agree there.Geralt is strong but at the end of the day he is just a witcher.Just as Ciri said. There are higher powers that he cant dream to defy.

@@burakkartal2156 I did no dismiss inquisition quickly but it is ultimately what Andromeda is to mass effect. Accepting mediocrity is what got us into this mess.
Olgierd von Everec should be on this list, the man is immortal. Only O'dim could put an end to him because that's where Olgierd got his powers from in the first place. He could probably defeat detlaff and Eredin since he's not at all bad with his magic sword.
I don't think that he is skilled enough to hurt detlaff, and since both are immortals detlaff could probably shred him into pieces before he regenerate
Geralt bested Olgierd on a duel, so that says something. He's just human with excellent sword skills, but he lacks witcher reflexes. Olgierd could win in a battle of attrition against most I guess, unless they behead him and kewp his head away from his body lol.
Nah we’ve seen in multiple forms of media that doesn’t really mean much. Detlaff would shred him to pieces, and bury them separately before everec got anything more than a cut in. Geralt already beat him in that fight - and yes, it doesn’t matter if he didn’t die. He beat him. If the fight continued, geralt would just chop it off again along with his limbs.
Remember the 'Who Is Skyrim’s BIGGEST Idiot' video, could you please do a 'Who Is Witcher 3’s BIGGEST Idiot' and perhaps a series on Witcher 3’s Why is an Idiot or genius like you did with Skyrim :)
The problem is that witcher character are either dumb enough to be played as a joke either are pretty smart, I played the game like 2 times and in none of them I wanted to facepalm myself like in skyrim, If you are talking about all witcher games than Iorveth would probably be the nr.1 pick.
@Johan Liebert dijkstra and roche, the first and second idiots organized the assasination of a tyrant that killed hundreds , you could say that dijkstra is an idiot cause he tried to seize the throne gor himself but he would have gotten away with that if it wasnt for geralt.
@Johan Liebert triss is not naive, she seems more childish especially for her age of 40 I believe, but that s it, she organized and tried to help the mages of novigrad for months, she miss steped once and that was after reuniting with geralt a(and if you played witcher 2 you d know that this was pretty significant) after a pretty rough break up so she didnt paid attention and let her guard down. Cant really say anything abou skellige tho, they are based on vikings and those guys werent the brightest so of course the majority of them are idiots, but thats mostly cause they are uncultured dumbasses . Either way compared to: oooooo, lets bully the most powerful morthal into doing my job and treat him like shit, force him to kill a good ally (delphine), or stab him in the back(astrid), or let s not realise that destabilizing my own country when talmor and empire tensions get worse each day seems like a good idea ulfric.
@Johan Liebert the dijkstra thing i feel like it s mostly a gameplay thing, in previous game an entire nilfgaardian camp is like 10 dudes and geralt still beat them so yeah, also you shouldnt look at combat sections when thinking about stuff like that, I mean the skyrim civil war were like, 5 people in an army, it s most likely an attemt to not overwhelm the player with 50 enemies and to not make their computers burst into flames, roach is mostly blind to that since he s desperate and would take anything, he s leading like 100 man vs an empire , his king was assasinated 6 months ago, his troops are few and get even smaller by the day and while guerrila warfare is efficient you cant use that on nilfgaard, they are so huge it doeant matter so his hopes were probably that temeria would get independence even temporary and that he s gonna work out from therw.
@Johan Liebert what i m trying to say is that even if their actions seem idiotic if you take into account the backgrounds it makes much more sense, in skyrim if you take them into consideration is much worse, delphines orders come from a long and dead faction that fought someone , astrids db was going downhill than the dragonborn and cicero come, they get that shit running but she s butthurt caise she d get replaced ,at least ulfrics is slightly understandable with him hating the talmor and having this dumb idea that the empire are hand in hand with them.
Just to ask why did you not mention Eredin like he is stronger then Emhir his fleet is better and he alone is really powerful while having really strong generals and or bodyguards
We must have different Yens in our game it seems, aint no way my Yen would lose the the elf, Avallach may be extremely smart but my Yens got style and raw power. Hard to put the list together but judging on the big names and who would win in a duel: 1. Geralt (Plot armor) 2. Gaunter o Dimm 3. Ciri ( Yes ciri would win against the elder, lady of space and time can drop the dude in white frost land and zip out, elder being stuck and frozen to a popsicle) 4. Unseen Elder 5. Detlaff, no questions asked. Not the entire nilfgaard or any other army can kill him when he can summon his own army of vampires to aid him.
Gaunter O’dimm always reminded me of Mister Mxyzptlk from DC comics or at least his race of 5th dimensional elves who are so advanced that they seem like gods compared to even beings like superman.
My top 5 for the witcher 3 would be 1) Gaunter O Dimm 2) The Unseen Elder 3) Ciri (Potential) 4) Caranthir 5) Regis/Dettlaff Characters like Avallah, Eredin, me, Yennefer, Triss or Vesemir are also very powerful but those 5 are something else
Regis and Dettlaff are miles ahead of Caranthir. Sure, highly skilled elven frost mage, but you're talking about an immensely powerful, immortal vampire. Geralt defeated Dettlaff, but could not kill him, for only a vampire can kill another vampire.
@@ruski77 That makes sense but even though Dettlaff can only be killed by another higher vampire, he still can be and was overpowered by Geralt. Maybe Regis could beat Caranthir but Caranthir has enough feats to be able to consider him Top 5
Lets not forget probably the most powerful witcher 'geralt' i mean look at his backstory he subjected to more additional trial of the grasses (more mutagen) and with pain caused him to be more stronger than your regular witcher and he defeated caranthir(weakened)imerlith eredin and outsmarted o'dimm and defeated a higher vampire (regis kills detlaff) and you can count this quest called 'turn and face stranger' where you learn about the griffin witcher who's father was trying to reverse his witcher mutation instead deepend those mutation and skills and geralt can make himself much stronger
People just don't *get* how powerful Gaunter O'Dimm is. Remember the Unseen Elder, the vampire that could kill Geralt or Regis with a single strike? Yeah, O'Dimm could take that sucker out with a spoon. A fucking spoon...
Only one I strongly disagree with is Emhyr. Political power =/= actual power in the strict sense of the witcher world. His military successes and general influence have gone to his head (at least in the canon of the game), he is arrogant enough to totally disrespect and talk down to Geralt and try to order him around while they are standing alone in his royal office, as if Geralt couldn't chop his head off in 2 seconds before he could even call for the guards. Having the great influence and and the amount of spies that he has means he should know better than try to provoke Geralt, his emperor status means jack shit in front of a Witcher.
I’d Actually Put Olgierd At number 3, Provided It was Before The ending of Hearts Of Stone. My Argument: He Wouldn’t Die From Anything, And Further More he Can Kill Any 2 Individuals, He can Basically order a hit on them, Via his Wishes.
Wha makes o dimm so scary is he looks like just a normal regular person passing by. You don't realize him, you don't pay attention to him he is like your neighbour or the newspaper guy. Just think about it. One day u wake up and u see your neighbour walking in the fucking sky and turns to devil. That regular man is devil. Holy fucking shit.
Avalach and Ciri are sure powerful while Avalach is very knowledgeable and he is very powerful but i don't think he could beat geralt, geralts reflexes as a witcher are super good and on top of that he is almost always dubbed as the best witcher while there are people like letho who were stronger physically and eskel who was a better sign user geralt is much more superior to most due to his special mutations and his experience would definetly give him an edge and same for Ciri she has a lot of potential but definetly not enough combat knowledge to outperform geralt
I honestly think the Unseen Elder could possibly contest Odimm, mostly because he says "time and it's effects do not rock me so as mortals or lesser vampires." So I don't think O'Dimms freeze would work. Would be interesting.
1: Roach 2: Roach 3: Roach 4: Roach 5: Roach Roach is so powerful her theme song is Telstar, because she goes to space every chance she gets just like the telecom satellites of the same name. That horse stands on roofs inexplicably like her cousin Juan, who stands on balconies. She does yoga on fence posts and stops randomly and seemingly to Geralt, for no reason, just because she wants to look at a flower. Roach is a literal God amongst men. Roach is eternal. Roach is everything.
Emhyr is a bit weird nomination for this list. Pretty much everyone else can destroy Geralt with varying level of easiness. I mean, emperor guy is smart just like every nomination in their own ways (I think it's safe to say Unseen is very intelligent despite his "slow" speech) but until 3rd place list screamed "these guys rek Geralt".
I doubt that there is anyone more powerful than Ciri except for O'Dimm. Which might not be true at all. She is the lady of time and space. The ancient powers she posseses are feared by literally everyone. Even Avallac'h claims that unless she learns how to control them, she is the greatest threat not only to her world, but also to all other worls, being able to completely destroy them. If there is a being with the abilitis to maybe defeat O'Dimm, whatever that means, it's her.
O'Dimm also controls time and space as seen during the plot. As well as being older than time itself. Although I don't know if he can go between dimensions like Ciri can or stop the white frost like she did.
I don't agree with the characterization that the Unseen Elder lacks intelligence. He's alien. He isn't from this world and has literally no interest in it... but its sort of implied he was ancient even by the standards of some incredibly old and powerful Vampires... He is a monster. A very old, very alien to human thought processes, monster. But that is to say he could be so intelligent that speaking to a human would be as passively frustrating as it would be trying to teach a Spider how to speak. Like. Two wild feral dogs walked in on him sleeping, what did you expect was going to happen?
Maybe when u play i can beat ciri at a snowball faight and the waild hunt all alone the last 2 are hard to beat but the rest are weaker then grifin armor.
I feel like the team shat the bed with the crones. They set them up as one thing, only to tear it down near the end of the main story. When you meet them they're basically these eldritch beings as old as the land they inhabit and influence, who have struck a bargain with the struggling people living there to help them get by in exchange for human sacrifices. They were less humanoid beings and more mystical, almost like forces of nature unto themselves, their physical bodies put together rather than born and grown. In the mission to rescue the baron's wife, when one of the witch hunters says something about the crones being there, Geralt highlights their power by saying something on the lines of "They're not here, because we're still alive." And then everything that makes the Crones of Croockback Bog so awesome is ruined when when they're given health bars, turning them from otherworldly constructs which might at best be trapped, like the spirit in the tree, into just another trio of mooks which can be permanently killed by slashing with a silver sword enough times. Lame.
It's hinted in some ways. He could also be a genie as some books in Olgierd library might suggest, although they also seem to point out he summoned something he wasn't exactly expecting, ie. a demon of sorts.
Svanrige is imo the best for Skellige but completely ooc for Geralt to choose that. Best compromise is Cerys who is second best for Skellige and she is someone Geralt would choose (assuming that him investigating the clues would actually choose Ceryr as Geralt would wanna find out the truth and whos behind it as he wouldnt care about any coronation stupid bs).
@@Dark_Voice idk svanriga hurts the culture the most and he probably cares the least for his people because he's willing to rage a massive war against his own people so he can take more control Hajmar leads a lot of them to their deaths but I get the sense he does care for them and cerys obviously cares but if nilfgaard attacked svanriga would probably be the best defender because Hajmar doesn't know diplomacy and Cerys makes her people weaker fighters
@@alfieshepherd2942 Its not like that at all though. First, Cerys vs Hjalmar is easy as hell. The game essentially tells you the whole time that you should pick Cerys AND their introduction for the missions is (Cerys: Lets find out who it is; Hjalmar: Lets murder some people to clean our name - completely easy to see that Cerys is the reasonable one from that, although I think doing both of their missions would be incredibly benefitial, its impossible => Cerys is the easy pick) Second: Svanrige means both Hjalmar's army streangth, Cerys' thinking as well as making the king into a power figure not really just a symbolic bitch of the Jarls => Svanrige is for me the best option (obviously there can be discussion about this and its matter of opinion and personal preference between liberal and authoritarian type of government/ruler) Third: Is Radovid the worst though? (In my opinion he is BUT Ive seen several people commenting about how Nilfgaard can be just as bad if not worse than Radovid AND even more people how unlikely it is for Geralt to participate in the politics; even more unlikely is him siding with Dijkstra) As the Radovid issue - Radovid winning the war is canon imo. If you choose Dijkstra or Nilfgaard winning you're just creating your own fan fiction. Geralt is against politics and stays away from them as far as possible, assassinating a monarch is not one of his priorities + Philippa Eilhart dies 1 year after the books during Witch hunts and is viewed as saint and martyr - who would do that if not Radovid? I think W3 allows you to create some alternative universe of hyperpolitical Geralt who chooses Triss over Yennefer and is not fucking every woman he sees BUT that simply is not Geralt.
@@simgarfu Disagree. From what we see of the Crones, they're certainly powerful. But there's nothing they've done that suggests they can take on an entire freaking army. Geralt was a match for one, and I can't see him taking on over 100 men at once.
geralt underwent a second series of mutations in the trial of the grasses, one that no other witcher has had. that’s why he has the white hair and is so much more powerful than the other witchers. it’s like if you gave captain america the super soldier serum twice
Yen says Geralt is stronger than her. Geralt kills multiple mages throughout his travels, many of which show destructive power far beyond anything Geralt himself is capable of. Avallach hardly shows off anything that spectacular. And he has to enlist a bunch of people, Geralt included, to do things for him. Plus, he's weaker than Eredin, who Geralt defeats. Ciri is only able to beat Geralt if she does the uncontrollable magic explosion she did at Kaer Morhen, as she states after that event that Geralt is still stronger than her. Emhyr as an individual is not powerful, he's just an average mortal. I'd also point out that none of his schemes or plans pan out in the end, mostly thanks to Geralt. And short of getting all the mages in Nilfgaard to teleport a small army to Geralt's location, he has no way of dealing with Geralt. Plus if he's on the list Dijkstra, Radovid, Clan An Craite basically anyone with an army should also be on it. Unseen Elder is obviously stronger, and O'dimm is basically omnipotent so that makes sense, but Regis and other vampires are missed off the list, even though they are immortal and in a one of one fight Geralt can't do much.
Skyrim's dragonborn is overpowered? Hello have you even played the game? Do you know what beings the elder scrolls universe consists of? Also Geralt canonically defeats in the witcher games Eredin along with his general and fucking Alvin who is arguably way more powerful than ciri when geralt fights him. But yeah geralt isn't strong at all, as if he weren't that'd make the witcher games better than the elder scrolls
@@Dark_Voice that was just a cutscene, she killed him and all his hencmen with no problem while I was playing, she's faster than the unseen elder when using her powers, and now the Wild Hunt is gone and the winter is ended she's even more unstoppable.
@@tafana She's not faster. He casually killed Geralt while nobody else could speedblitz him. I think Ciri would probably get killed by Olgierd as well. Wild hunt was owned by Geralt not by Ciri though. I dont think the winter is ended but the Frost is such a Deus ex machina, last minute addition to the story that I dont even take it seriously. Ciri is gameplay is doing 0 damage (the Vampire would probably outheal her damage), cannot do any defensive measure like Quen or parry. The speed is of her blink is not as fast as his speed when he kills Geralt after asking too many questions. His physical streangth is also probably incomparable. Ciri can get hit in any of her actions and a hit from his is easily a oneshot as he demonstrated with Geralt. Nope, Ciri has no chance there AT ALL.
So again this person does not even know what he's talking about. Dimm is neither omniscient nor omnipotent nor immortal. If he were he would never have helped Geralt find Yen without a contract. He would have simply snapped Eredin and the white frost out of existence because of them endangering his fun. He can stop time and grant any wish. Sure. But so can any Djinn. So no points there.
