Hello. RU-vid randomly recommended your channel. Good video. You have a bunch of good films. I think my most rewatched gothic horror film is the first Candyman.
The Woman In Black, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Various Hammer films like The Gorgon, Vampire Lovers, Black Sunday, House of Usher, The Pit and the Pendulum, Sleepy Hollow, Universal's Bride and Son of Frankenstein. Just to name a few .
Thanks for the shout out! I think your Gothic picks are mainly what I would list as well except for Captain Kronos. I'm not familiar with that one. Love Crimson Peak the most too, the strange red clay that the mansion sat on and the decrepit interior with the falling leaves add to the eeriness of the surroundings.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter has won a special place in my heart, quickly became one of my favorite takes on Drac. Van Helsings also makes my list, the way the monsters look just feels very on the nose.
Yes! Last Voyage of the Demeter was awesome. Dark and mysterious. I almost didn’t watch it because of the Smashing Pumpkins song in the trailer. 😂 The only Van Helsing I’ve seen is the one with Hugh Jackman.
@@firesatmidnight that's the one, Hugh Jackman, Kate beckinsale. The aesthetic is fantastic. Like I said the monster look exactly like they should, at least in my opinion. Anything l with a different take on Dracula pulls my gaze: Demeter Van Helsing Dracula 2000 Dracula Untold All Amazing movies and I love watching them over and over.
@TheListofMrRaguso I’ll have to watch it again. I probably haven’t seen it since it came out. I remember Dracula 2000. I thought that the movie Vampires with James Woods and Near Dark were great different takes on that genre.
@@firesatmidnight I don't think I've seen Near Dark, but I have seen Carpenter's Vampires, that was def interesting, its on my To Buy list. As is Both Fright Night and its remake.
Bram Stoker's Dracula is one of my favourite movies! Pretty gothic-ish would be The Pit And The Pendulum and Masque Of The Red Death with Vincent Price (great -over-actor). Gotta check Kronos. Hammer has great movies overall.
Jessica Chastains character WAS the villain in Crimson Peak. Mia something or others character was the one warned by her dead mother. And that movie is my all time favorite Gothic Horror. But they did the poor dog wrong, damnit.
