100% spot on. The americans figured it out ages ago. Playoff basketball is where it's at. We need real playoffs. 16 teams or at least play-ins, best of 5s until quarters, best of 7 semis/finals. Final fours are for college amateurs and cup formats.

Basketball in general needs to be more homogeneous like coach Trinchieri said. Its ridiculous how the rules etc are different in almost any other league. We must unite under one global basketball banner, under one set of rules etc and we move from there.

Play in qualification for the euroleague - winner of Eurocup + seeding from leagues around europe like with football champions league. Breaks for National team games Breaks for players to rest in offseason like Trincheri said. Conferences, Playoffs is unnecessary. Better scheduling so travel is less of an issue, 2 games per week is already pushing it.

The euroleague games are so entertaining they shouldn’t change anything except of one thing. The times for the games. Why do they have let’s say 3 games at a time instead of distribute it to the entire day. That’s they only thing that really bothers me tbh.

Playoffs instead of F4 is just stupid. Nobody will care for 7 games between two teams except the fans of these 2 teams. F4 involves fans of 4 teams, it's the highlight of Euroleague tournament and most of Euroleague rememberable moments are because of F4 and its surprises. Also playoffs instead of F4 will only make sense if there is a limit in teams budgets, otherwise lets just give the trophy from October to the Dubai team that euroleague idiots are planning to include

I’m someone who has been getting into Euroleague since euro basket, though I haven’t been able to constisntly watch games due to being in America and having other conflicts of interest or losing track of the season. Still, from what I’ve watched I have appreciated the focus on team play and the atmospheres that are similar to football in Europe. I also like seeing players not in the NBA and appreciating their talent and success outside the NBA. Still, as much I have and will try to continues watching as much European basketball when I can, it’s still hard for it to the top NBA for me right now. I think the big issue that will obviously be hard to fix is that the NBA, even if I agree doesn’t do a great job in putting a quality product of fair competitive basketball compared to its entertainment approach, is that the NBA just has superior talent and even if Euroleagie gets better talent wise, it came never steal most of the best players from the NBA. I think another issue is that the effort to advertise it isn’t great and also at least for me, when I steam games online, I notice there is always one guy commentating, and there is no color commentator to analyze the game. Why is that? I’m getting used to it as best as I can but I admit it just weirds me out and feel it will be great if they just add that to make the broadcast of games more easier to follow and in general most team sports has color commentators. Overall, I think they should really try to increase popularity and try to attract NBA talent young or old.

If they're going to change the format they should make it a tournament. Top 3 from domestic leagues qualify for 32-team tournament. Best-of-5 series for round of 32, 16, and quarterfinals. Then, we go to a straightforward final four held EXCLUSIVELY in Europe, so no Dubai.

Euro league needs a bit more star power. High level tactics + high profile players = higher viewership. The league needs more money to survive. Coach’s suggestions were all good but I don’t think it will captivate casual fans.

Nothing that Trincheri suggested adds any value. Euroleague is fine the way it is. It just needs to accommodate the National Team games by not scheduling matches when NTs play. This is not FIBA's fault, it's Euroleague's as they should be the ones accommodating and not FIBA. The only changes that needs to be done is to adapt the NBA game: larger and wider court, 7.25 m 3 point line, no zone defense, play-ins, etc. This will make the game more enticing. As for money, since they can no longer depend on Russian rubbles they half to rely on the Turkish Lira and Gulf State Dinars or perhaps Renminbis.

Doesn't have to have 2 conference.... 2 Groups are fine... That way it is only 22 games and you don't have to play against the other group teams.... And you add more play off games.... Sounds like a very good plan.

Basketball is a mess in Europe. We have Euroleague and FIBA… 4 european competitions. Plus, each country has its own domestic league. For a change, I’d say only one organization to rule european basketball. Then, create 3 or 4 divisions. Basically the way football operates, with Champions League, Europa League and Conference League

How would conferences even look? South Western Europe vs South Eastern Europe? I guess train rides would be easier for S-W Europeans. Also just change the TV schedule and play the games on fridays-saturdays-sundays.

you cannot have Euroleague in format close to the NBA when all of the Euroleague teams play national competitions each weekend.

First change is giving the biggest contrabution country in Europe in basketball reapect,sorry but my coutry Serbia give more then Spaine,Italy and France together,i know that we are poor but look at 50 best players contrabution in Euroleague and couches and nobody can compare with Serbia...

Final 4 needs to stay. On the one hand he says less games, on the other he is asking for 7 playoff games instead of final 4. Is he sure he knows what he wants?

My opinion will most likely not be well accepted here, but reality is, that current format of euroleague is unprofitable for most or maybe even all of the clubs involved. Basically whole league is based on financial support from generous sponsors who will never see the profit from investing into euroleague team and/or from wealthy individuals who have means and passion to support the local club... This kind of format is not sustainable in a long run. Yes, there is certain charm of todays format with all of the darbies and relegation/promotion of the clubs. But in reality, if euroleague wants to at least come a bit closer to the level of NBA, it has to be a closed format league like for example the failed superleague project in football. That project failed, because football is just more profitable compared to basketball in europe. So to finish it off, euroleague needs better closed system, which will be based not only on subsidized means, but could finance itself with better marketing.

Don't try to turn the Euroleague into the NBA. NBA's format sucks, from regular season to playoffs. Especially the playoffs. Who really wants to watch 5 or even 7 games in a row between the same two teams?! Spare us with that BS!

Smaller amounts of games means you won't be able to understand the true quality of teams and players. This is why people disqualify lockout years in the NBA

Playoff format is not a solution. This is not the NBA with huge star power. Barely anyone knows the players in the teams. Maybe the Spanish would like to watch 7 games Barca Real, but who else in Europe would watch 7 games Real vs Efes.

National leagues are really unnecessary given the quality of those games are mostly low. Plus they usually have limited to none commercial value. Players are unnecessarily get tired and being have to travel. So 30+ euroleague games 30+ national league games obviously don’t work
