1. barcodes - save wallet space 2. Home Automation launch any task. 3. hands free navigation. 4. To do list, notes, tasks 5. Hyper localized rain forecast. 🇳🇱
Hi. I know it has been about 2.5 years since your review of the apps for Garmin. I am sorry to let you know that "AccuWeather MinuteCast" app is not as good as you say. Main problem that many users report nowadays is location/positioning issue often being quite far away (by 20-100 km) which makes "minute forecast" useless. In fact, it is now so bad that it gets about 2.4 score out of 5 (over 1000 feedbacks), which is quite "rubbish" actually.
I'm having trouble syncing the maps Nav app to my phone through vivoactive 4s. I launch the app on ym watch and nothing happens when I open maps on my phone.. It doesn't detect anything..?
Hi Man. Thanks a lot for sharing with ur list. U seem to be a very practical person. We have now a rainy season and now i can plan my walks more precise!!Also bar code widget is really dope!!!I have all my cards on a wrist now. Thank you
Hello! Thanks very much for your very informative video - One question please --> Are there any downloadable map apps that allow you to view the actual map navigation on your watch screen, with Garmin Forerunner 645? (like how you showed on 3:40 , but with the map showing on the watch screen instead of phone screen? Thanks a million @JSyntax ! :) :)
I believe there are! But unfortunately I don't use any of them. I rely on the map navigation app I mentioned. Some Garmin watches come bundled with maps
@@JSyntax Great! I'm currently trying to choose between the Garmin forerunner and the Huawei GT 2, and am trying to weigh-up all the pros & cons..! --> Decisions, decisions! :D Thanks for your very quick response, and again, for your very informative video. Best wishes from Ireland!! :)
Great video! Could you please help me what are the steps to start to work the map app on my watch? I downloaded the app already, just can't use it 🤪 I've a venu watch. Thank you very much in advance!!!
Nice video! Also i really like your dog! I haven‘t seen such a beautiful and healthy german shepherd as where i live (austria) most of them are overbred. I‘m actually happy seeing yours being healthy and cute 💜 I have three dogs. They‘re the best companions.
There are more good apps for Garmin but still missing good titles like for wear os watches. I use on my Vivoactive 3 Camera Opus app to control fully my cam in phone. It detects movement too. The app is promoted by Garmin. You should update your apps review. Good videos, added sub.
I still haven't been able to get any app (nor the app you recommended) to show me Google maps directions. It doesn't send me a notification on the watch when I have started navigating on my phone
You clearly don't live in Vancouver where they have no clue how to predict weather. They will tell me it's sunny and I'm standing in the middle of a down pour. Weather forecasts in Vancouver are pointless. Assume... rain.
@@JSyntax I'm saying the suggesting a forecast is "accurate" at any capacity is not something one would say living in Vancouver. The rain comparison goes without saying.
load and recovery are not features in the Venu or Vivoactive 4 as they are considered "lifestyle" which is unfortunate because they are the best looking IMO. Let me know if you found an app to replace this feature as I just ordered one to replace the 6s pro Garmin overkill watch.
Hey man thanks for the MinuteCast recommendation. I really hated how Dark Sky left us out in the cold and I wanted to find a replacement for it for the longest time. Like it doesn't make much sense for me to use it in California but still I like the rain predictions. As for apps that I use, I am trying to get into the habit of time tracking and just starting off with a basic pomodoro timer. I find it somewhat useful but it'd really be better as a widget rather than an app.
Hi, Thanks for the great video! I was wondering if you know if it's possible to transfer apk app i have on my android to my Garmin Vivoactive 4s? (Obviously i can't find it in the IQ store) it worked great with my Fossil watch and i can't figure this out. Thanks!!
Great video, basically I have the same watches at home as you do. Vivosmart 4, fr245m and va4s, I have mainly used 245m and I got used to pause button during activity. I can't find this button with Va4, if I press up button stops my activity with no ability to contiune... any help
On the Va4 just use the upper botton to stop/pause and again to continue. If you want to pause for a longer time, for example to eat something, i would lock the screen. For that just hold the upper button a few seconds after you pause the activity and then click on the lock symbol. Otherwise you might save or delete it by mistake.
Really struggling with this watch. It is basically eating my wrists alive. I clean it with isopropyl alcohol and water twice a day and alternate wrists every week and it still leaves rash after rash. Crazy. I wore a Timex Ironman for 20 years straight -- NEVER took it off, day or night, and was nothing like this stupid Garmin Vivoactive 4. Garmin has a real issue on their hands ... or on our rotting away from the Garmin watch wrists i should say.
Garmin watches major in the fitness tracking and battery life. They have the best GPS trackers of any smart watch manufacturer and the longest battery life of any smart watch manufacturer, particularly at the top end. If you want a fitness tracker go Garmin. If you want a smart watch for apps and are less bothered about how accurate the GPS is or that you might not be able to use GPS for a long bike ride without the battery dying then other products are available. I gather the apple watches are very good and the latest Samsung ones are ok. My Samsung watch active was useless at GPS and the battery would die if I ran much more than 15km. I'm going Garmin from now on.
I do a HIIT workout on a treadmill. It consists of a warmup, the workout, and the cool down. The workout has 8 segments of 2 minutes each with 30 seconds running at 7.6 mph with 90 seconds of walking at 2.5 mph. Is there a fitness tracking watch that can contend with that? I'd like to add jumping rope to this routine with 8 segments of 30 seconds of speed jump roping and 90 seconds of rest. Can any fitness tracking watch deal with that?
I just picked up a fenix 6 pro on sale and you can program absolutely any type of workout you can imagine on it. Takes a bit to figure it out, but you can definitely do what you want to do
Nice video brother. I am currently using forerunner 245, i want to use accuweather and map nav, but accuwether unable to get data fordm location and map nav keeps asking me to stary nav at maps. How to troubleshoot these problems
I downloaded the nav app and started it. I also started maps on my phone. I can’t get it to work. Any suggestions. Where do I find the forecast app after I download it?
I was wondering for the Maps Navigation app with turn-by-turn directions, do you need to bring your smartphone with you? Or can you leave your phone at home and rely completely on the watch? And I assume you can set your own destination right? Thanks in advance!
Hi, could you please help me what are the steps to start to work this app on my watch? I downloaded the app already, just can't use it 🤪 I've a venu watch. Thank you very much in advance!!!
"MinuteCast is available in the following countries North America: contiguous US, Canada Europe: UK, Spain, Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Denmark), parts of the Czech Republic, Gibraltar, and Liechtenstein Asia: Japan and Korea" :(
Hi. Thanks for this video. I just got my Venu yesterday and this helped me a lot. Just a question. I downloaded the Maps Nav and I cannot seem to make it work. When i open the app on my watch it says launch A navigation on Maps. And after I do thatbon my Note 10 plus, nothing happens on the watch... Would you know how I can fix this? Been looking for more tutorials and no luck... TIA!
Great video.. Maps nav is laggy on my vivoactive 3..connected to huawei p30.. Just set up the barcodes but haven't tried it yet.. Must do the Microsoft grocery list soon
Fantastic video - so useful! The Microsoft ToDo list integration is a killer app but I stumbled on your video looking for Google Maps integration - why is this not native?! Thank you.
VivoActive 3 is real cheap right now ($130). I bought a VivoActive 4 for $280 to upgrade, but took it back because my VA3 was nearly as good for my use and VA4 was not worth $280 to upgrade. If I was purchasing from scratch, I probably pop the extra $150 for the VA4, but the VA3 for $130 is a great deal.
Cool and all... but - why go to the trouble of doing all this on the watch? Your phone is in your pocket - use any stock app to achieve the same things and save all the trouble of mucking around with connect IQ and the limited interface on the watch.
Hi there! Thank you so much for the reviews, very insightful. Was wondering, did you find a way to stop notifications from whatsapp groups? there is no way I can do that and it drives me crazy ;(
