I agree. Slice into a dish, add jam, nutella etc cream and ice cream and some nuts and enjoy. No need for fiddling. Or just dip the banana in nutella, cur out the fiddly bits.
Such a waste of plastic - makes me lose faith in humanity knowing that the people that invent, fund, manufacture, and market this crap that that thought never even crosses their mind.
The proposed advantage of the snactive over regular chop sticks is that you can use them while playing video games without putting down the snactive whereas chopsticks you'd have to put down to pick up the controller or mouse etc
You would have to put that thing down as well, do you play video games? No way you'd want to wear those things while handling a controller, mouse or keyboard.
@@PlaySA depends on the game. If you were playing something like the sims or chess, there really wouldn't be a need to put them down. For super active games, yeh, you'd put them down, but you also wouldn't want to be eating while playing, cause you'll lose in the process. This tool is clearly only for games where you can take a little time out to eat/pick things up with your hands during the game & with those, there should be no reason not to leave it clipped onto your fingers & sitting there above your fingers while playing
@@PlaySAI do it while playing with a controller just fine... but I see your confusion because he was actually using them upside down... holding it correctly, it takes up as much space on the controller as wearing jewelery
For the second item, adding a curve would create a gap which would cause it to be less effective at holding foods anywhere but the tip. Some texture could be a good idea.
The control in the first experiment may be flawed. The time to fill the piping bag is not accounted for (non bakers may require some time). However, the time required to fill the gadget plunger is included in the time count.
I think Snactiv and Pizza Pack are good ideas. Snactiv seems good if you’re on the computer or using your hands. Pizza Pack seems like a sustainable (instead of using a plastic bag) way to store pizza in less space than a box.
A box is very flat though. It's much easier to find space in a refrigerator for a wide flat container (since you can just put it on top of other things) than a wide, almost spherical thing that takes up a lot of shelf space. Also, microwaving pizza is gross. Much better to put it in a toaster oven or eat it cold as Italian Breakfast Toast, in my opinion.
Sure! Recycling metals require transport and energy. Just clean your tray. The original pizza packaging is flat, however I could not put it on my fridge, since it has trays and jar with different sizes, giving no flat surface for the box.
@@liambohl while I don't think there's clear evidence yet as to how dangerous the silicone/plastic this is made of is to health, it is well studied & confirmed that aluminium causes Alzheimer's. The more aluminium you ingest, the more your risk is increased. Rinsing & reusing is therefore a really bad idea, as the older it is, the more aluminium pieces will flake off it & be ingested. Cooking with it is also a really bad idea because heating also causes some to merge with the food. Aluminium's melting point is well below the heat of a pizza oven
I must say that the snactive came in super helpful when I broke both my thumbs at once last year. I couldn’t eat with chopsticks for a while and my friends gifted me two of them 😂
The Snacktiv thing is actually more specifically designed for gaming. So you don’t get a nasty controller or keyboard, so dexterity isn’t really an issue there. It’s a specific product solving a specific issue and it works great for what it does!
@@ashleyjustice3008 Yup. It’s just meant to keep your fingers clean while you do another task while staying on your fingers so you don’t have to keep picking up chopsticks or whatever… I actually own and use one for when I knit and do paracord while watching tv… it keeps me from getting my yarn and cordage all gross.. I’ve literally eaten veggies and hummus with mine before! Hahaha
Just realized that he is wearing a shark fin! 😅 That banana gadget is cool but looks like pain to clean! Plus I feel I would not be using it much or forget what it is used for! 😅
The Banana Loco was doomed to fail just due to the shape of a standard banana. A straight corer will never go all the way through without a breach. I can see a use of the pizza pack. It has niche usage, and I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but it looked it stored pizza a lot neater than cramming slices in a container. There's also a bit of playfulness of having a pizza slice shaped container.
I've had the snacktiv for a while and my friends loved it and got it for themselves too! It's much easier than putting down chopsticks while doing things, and it's pretty compact which is great!
The turbo tresser might also benefit from longer hooks for the larger turkeys. Maybe have one set for a larger turkey and a smaller set for a smaller turkey? I'm just throwing that out there.
The best thing in the pizza pack being collapsible is that it takes up less space in the cupboard when it's not being used. The plastic boxes usually take up as much space empty than when they are full, and usually not stackable at all. And the only drawback of the Snactiv over a pair of chopsticks is, that eventually the plastic will give out and not open properly, or even break.
I actually have some of those Snactiv chopstick thingies! had them for about 6 months, no complaints for anything really but I agree with the redesign--a bit more texture at the ends would be helpful and would make no appreciable difference in washing/maintanence. Thanks for the vid!
@@anthonymiele4320 I will admit that i bought them after watching the episode and i really do love them. i use them for snacking while working so i can still use my keyboard mess-free and i dont have to set it down like you would for chopsticks. certainly not a necessary product by any means, but they do exactly what they say they will and it is easy and intuitive to use.
@@anthropomorphicpeanut6160 lol i guess its possible that they rushed to a store, bought the gadget, rushed back, and started using it, all in the one hour since the video came out, but this does seem sus indeed
i think that pizza pack would look good hanging in the frozen food section next to the pizzas. also i back when i worked in a factory people would reguarly stuff pizzas in a plastic container and could definatly see them using the trays in that container as a plate instead of a paper towels and they could get to the microwave quicker as there would always be a line
He's actually pretty calm and reasonable. About that banana thingy, I'd look whoever invented it and punch tehm in the face just for not keeping that stupid idea to themselves.
another great delivery, the snactiv looks pretty good, much more practical than chopsticks, you need to be a lot more dexterous to use chopsticks, and if you're doing other stuff, you don't need to put down the snactiv at all
Part of the point of using snactiv vs chopsticks is the point of using the snactiv while working, so you can keep your fingers clean while typing on your keyboard.
The whole point of the little Chopstix that go on your finger is that you’re able to type and grab things while still eating. If you have regular chopsticks in your hands you can’t grab anything.
They have released a Snactiv that has some texture at the ends to aid in gripping the food. There also appear to be copycats that have done the same thing.
The reason for foldable food containers is for easy storage in the cupboard, not for when they are currently in use with food. We store left over pizza in their boxes in the fridge. If the kids take any to school they would just put in an appropriate sized lunchbox.
The Pizza Pack has a simple, natural competitor: a gallon-sized Ziplock. They’re able to fit any size or shape of slice, from the baby pizzas to a football slice to Sicilian. The bags’ corners are triangles, and you can fold the bag any which way. As for the “trays”, wax paper.
I just use chopsticks to eat snacks all the time. It's good practice, helps with pacing and its just fun ngl. Although, this product would be useful for accessibility.
The turbo trusser thing should of had springs I think is the thing I’m talking about but it’s able to be stretched out and then when take off back to its original shape!
I hit the like and subscribe button when i laughed out loud when you brought out the NY Pizza, or as you like to call it.... pizza. I like the style of how you go through the testing and your process overall.
The banana one is a classic example of solving a problem that doesn't exist. "Do you ever stuff bananas?" "No" "Well, if you did, don't you think it'd be awkward?" By introducing you to this problem, it creates more problems: bananas are bent, the corer and stuffing pipe are straight, the stuffer requires both pressing the lever and estimating the banana movement. If you core the banana using air pressure, why use a straight bit instead of a curved one? If you're using a straight one, why not use an Archimedes screw or some bit at the front that digs into the banana while pushing it inside, to make use of the rotated insertion? When you stuff the banana, why have two separate motions of pressing the filling and pulling the banana? By pressing the filling, a designer knows exactly the displaced volume of the filling, and with a set cross section, he can tell exactly the distance the filling moves. With a lever or some gears, the device could either push the banana away at the same rate the filling flows into it, or it could pull out the pipe in the same rate. That way there's no guessing of amounts.
I would just slice the banana lengthwise like a hotdog bun and fill the groove. That seems a lot easier and you can do it with one tool that backfills its own wake
That root beer float thing - I've seen something very similar being sold at a state fair circa 2007. I'm not sure if they still sell them, but they were disposable and pre-filled with ice cream. When you purchased a root beer float, all they had to do was screw the little cup to the lid. Even though I think our world could use fewer disposable things in it, I could envision using something similar for a kids' birthday party or something, where you need to serve quickly to a bunch of hungry little sharks. All-in-all, I feel like it may have been a rip-off of that state fair root beer float I bought once many years ago.
An interesting usability test with the Snactiv would be to alternate using it with a remote controller / gamepad to see if it would make them dirty. I think this is probably what the Snactiv was designed for
The differce between the Snacktiv and chopsticks is length. You can eat out of the bag with chopsticks without sticking you whole hand into it and getting even your knuckles dirty.
back in the early 60s we had what was called the Fizz Nik which was a hallow plastic ball that fit on the mouth of a soda bottle and you put a scoop of ice cream in it. The soda would go into the ball onto the ice cream and you drank it. Instant float and they worked great.
There was no way I wasn't clicking on this once I saw the Banana Loca in the thumbnail. Still get flashbacks from the Project for Awesome livestream of John Green's "Twinkie stuffed with Dr Pepper baked beans" crime against God
