I had a water hammer at my old house. It was miserable.. sounded somewhat similar to a generator...the vibrations. We had to call someone and they traced it to a water regulator for one of the evaporator cooler
I did too. I installed those water hammer arrestors and they helped, but not totally. I heard it the worst with Samsung washing machine because their valves are solenoid controlled to shut on and off instantly, rather than somewhat gradually like others. Puts a lot of shock in the lines.
I don't mind the sound but I am more paranoid about the pipes bursting eventually. Can that happen? I live in a condominium and when I turn off water, I can hear a loud sound where the HVAC is
Hey! I live in an old Berlin apartment building with very noisy pipes, especially these two external metal hot water pipes. I was wondering what I should use to muffle the noise? Can i put the car sound deadening material on these metal pipes? Or should I use something else? Sound is driving me a bit crazy...😅
