I thought your video was excellent regarding unconditional acceptance. I don’t agree with doing too much exposure anymore. The obsessions are already exposing yourself. What helps me is passively disregarding the obsessions and actively resisting the physical and mental compulsions.🌹

So for example if you have social anxiety and are afraid of looking weird, being stupid, imperfect... instead of saying I'm still am valuable, you would said "yes I might be weird and some people definitely think I am and what ?" It 's the same thing if someone criticize you thinking or telling them that they have the right to have their own opinions about you and it's ok even if it is not the best feeling to be rejeted/judged by someone. Because often our thoughts are like internalised criticism that we heard from others so it makes sens to talk to your thought the same way as you would talk to someone judging you.

Hey Renaud - that's a piece of recovery, but our deeply held beliefs will take time more time to deconstruct. Yes, the idea you have is correct, but it takes time to truly believe it,

Hi Renaud, I think you described that excellently - I’ll give my extra thoughts in my next video covering unconditional acceptance Q&A

Hi Jade, thank you for this video. So if it's rational to feel terrified when that fear has actually happened (e.g., went to prison for life), how do we make it so that we're not terrified of that possibility? It's a possibility we believe will/could eventually face. How can one not be scared? I hope I'm making sense.
@aguywhohikes1271
@aguywhohikes1271 Год назад
Hey Missi - In time we want to rationally look at jail from a more balanced perspective, "Yes going to jail would be tough, quite tough, involve many hardships and challenges, but we can change our black and white demand that it can never happen - that it's 100% horrible if it does happen". Slowly deconstructing the fears surrounding jail can be done, but we need to slowly change how we view jail.
@jadet1337
@jadet1337 Год назад
Hi Missi, Nick explains this so well in his comment below however I’ll also cover this is my next video which will be covering unconditional acceptance q&a

@@jadet1337 Thank you so much for a response. Below is my reply to Nick's message. I'll be sure to watch your next video. @AGuyWhoHikes Hi Nick, thank you! What if the fear is POCD? You see movies and documentaries of the perpetrator being killed in prison by other inmates. I don't see how that can be anything less than horrible.

How about unconditional acceptance for false memory ocd? Or when you believe people think a certain way about you when in fact that is all made up by OCD but it seems truly believable? Thank you
@aguywhohikes1271
@aguywhohikes1271 Год назад
Hey Louise - the most important part here is to not try and say, "All made up by OCD" as this would classify as trying to prove our way out. Unconditional acceptance applies for all fears.
@jadet1337
@jadet1337 Год назад
Hi Louise, unconditional acceptance is probably most useful for real event/ false memory because it works well alongside uncertainty- I.e “I can never figure this out and either outcome wouldn’t be the worst thing to have ever happened anyway” meaning you’re no longer petrified of one of the possibilities so it releases. I’ll cover this in my upcoming unconditional acceptance q&a

Hi Jade. How would you apply UA on strong feelings & thinking that I want to break up with my girlfriend? I keep telling myself, ok fine do it. But I feel very blocked from actually doing it until we have an argument then it comes rolling out and we get back together once ive calmed down from the argument abit
