5 of My Favorite Horror Movie Soundtracks on Vinyl 

The packaging on all those releases is just gorgeous. This is the reason why I believe vinyl is the superior format when you can hold those amazing releases with incredible artwork. One of the more recent horror soundtracks I enjoyed is Smile. I love the experimental nature of it: creepy, atmospheric ambience.

The packaging on that Season of the Witch is terrific, down to the Silver Shamrock label. I love that soundtrack and am a fan of that outlier in the series, as well. Does your The Thing have the 12" EP of "Lost Cues" by John Carpenter? I got the same Sacred Bones reissue, but I got a slipcased edition with the Morricone music on one record and these other bits on a separate one. I'm particularly fond of a Dead Ringers vinyl reissue on wax I got a few years ago. Lately, I have been listening to a cassette of Philip Glass's Candyman score (also love his retroactive score for the Tod Browning / Bela Lugosi Dracula he did with Kronos Quartet) and a CD of Michael Kamen's score for Cronenberg's adaptation of The Dead Zone: just conjures all those autumnal eighties childhood VHS horrors feels for me, a magnificent piece of work. Nice OG Christine in the background. I have a reissue and enjoy it very much.
