I was thinking the exact same thing. My Yamaha ll16m sounds and plays better than anything that costs more that I have including my Eastman e6dtc with Swiss alpine spruce. Great smooth resonant strummer to say the least
Sorry, but it really doesn't help when you fingerpick one guitar and strum the others, in different percussive styles. It would have been helpful to fingerpick and also to strum each guitar, to let viewers compare like with like...... The Eastman was nice........
When comparing guitars, you need to play the same chords or tune in all, otherwise you cannot really compare tone. It looks like you were favoring the Eastman from the beginning, not an honest comparison 😢
Guys I have to give a shout out to the Yamaha FSX3 andcFSX 5 here in this price renge I asume the reason you dont have one on the list has to be because you don't have any in stock because the Red label FSX3 OM or FSX5 Dread are incomparable for me in he £1000 range And I know they do go quickly because the vast majority of reviews say the same thing, when people play them against other guitars like the ones youve demoed or any others in this price range the chouce is clear Ive tried all the comparable Taylor and Martins in this range and the Yamaha is head and shoulders better IMHO Its a reissue of course of the Red Folk guitars of the 60's so Its not heavy on the bling but the sound and playability is impeccable, balanced, exceptionally clear and warm with great responsiveness as well off the top sound board All solid woods Sitka top and Mahogany back and sides with the excellent workmanship you exoect from Yamaha, ( fast comfortable neck and frets) And It plays beautifully even out the box without a set up though I'd still reccomend one with any new factory line guitar that isn't custom made Also the pick up systèm beats the ES2 and I'd say outside of the LR Baggs Anthem is the best out there unless you go into the realm of external clip ons like the the DPA 4099 which costs half the price of the actual guitar ! I own an FSX 3 and Its, like a little sports car for me, so easy to play and clear and balanced, its my guitar of choice fior small gigs znd Open mics and the one I olsy the most And I say thos owning 2 world class custom shop guitars, A Taylor 2017 NAMM Sinker redwood /Amazonian Rosewood GS , stunning and totally unique warmth and richness and a Furch Rainbow Alpine Moon Spruce /Cocobolo GA which Is the BEST guitar I have ever played or heard In over 35 years of playing, its like Its from another planet or on steroids Both are north of £5000 mark, the Taylor well North BUT Furch for me make the best guitars in the World on a price to Quality ratio with you paying a premium on the Big USA brands I think there £1000 and Sub are the Violet séries ? Have you tried them out ?
