IMO, Sonic Utopia is the ideal for Sonic open world design and Sonic GT is a great template for what modern Sonic stages should be like. Things are a little too spread out, but with some refinement, excellent games could come from both concepts.
I agree; likewise, the two games would be what the ENTIRE game is like, and builds South Island with it's respective zones - Green Hill(s) (Sonic 1 Genesis; Sonic 1 Game Gear; Sonic 2 Game Gear; Sonic 1 Pilot; Sonic Mania Plus) Tokyo City (Sonic 1 Pilot) Bridge (Sonic 1 Game Gear) Marble (Sonic 1 Genesis) Moon Rock (Sonic 1 Genesis Shinsaku build / Kawarino; Sonic 1 Pilot) Under Ground (Sonic 2 Game Gear) Labyrinth (Sonic 1 Genesis) Auric East (Sonic 1 Genesis Shinsaku build / Kawarino; Sonic 1 Pilot) Spring Yard (Sonic 1 Genesis) Sky High (Sonic 2 Game Gear) Jungle (Sonic 1 Game Gear) Star Light (Sonic 1 Genesis) Gimmick Mountain (Sonic 2 Game Gear) Scrap Brain (Sonic 1 Genesis) Sky Base (Sonic 1 Game Gear) Scrambled Egg (Sonic 2 Game Gear) Crystal Egg (Sonic 2 Game Gear)
@@IncrediBurch sabes que sería genial?,un juego online en 3D,un juego de mundo abierto donde se podía hacer lo que quisiera, ser cualquier personaje, algo como dragon ball xenoverse, pero con más libertad
I've wanted an open world Sonic game for years. What I think would be the best way to do it is to set the game on an island like those mentioned in the Genesis era games (South Island, Westside Island, etc). You're given a large island to explore and it's made up of 6 or 7 large zones. The focus is on exploring the island's zones & uncovering secrets while also being able to run across the zones at high speed. As Sonic, your goal is to find the star posts, which work kind of like shrines in Zelda Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom. You collect rings to build up enough energy for the star posts to open portals to the Special Zone where you complete challenges for Chaos Emeralds. That's just my rough idea for how I'd want the game to play out.
It better be great. I want sonic to succeed and be the greatest. I believe sonic and his series will find the big bright light in the tunnel with sonic frontiers. We gotta keep supporting and loving sonic as much as we can with our love and amazing fan projects such as these fan games right here. Giving up is never the answer. Sonic would never give up.
Sonic GT is the most favorabble for my opinion. This should havbeen the number 1. Even tho it is short with tghe story and gameplay. Still feels like a compleeted game
The second game gave me the thought that it would be cool to dynamically switch the ground textures based on speed. The streaks in the grass help sell the speed but can look off standing still
When videos like these pop up in my recommended feed, it always reminds me that most fans have no fucking idea what they actually want in a "good" sonic game and are just as bad or only a smidge better at game design than Sega. Edit: i will not elaborate any further
And also to be fair frontiers is the one here that looks more polished and fun, im guessing you have not played frontiers and u have only seen the gameplay
@@jkveri2002 That is why i'm saying this. To give devs of these games my impression from their games, so they know where to go next with their stuff, if they ever gonna make their games happen in the future. Cause, there is a lot of fan made games like these, that never seen the full release.
If you want open world sonic games to be effective, you should put objectives within that world similar to Sonic JAM. Sonic JAM was a small environment but had a set amount of things you could do in that world. Sonic Utopia imo would fit well for that kind of style of gameplay.
No no no! You can't allow the player to keep playing while you explain how to play the game. You have to assume your audience is dumb and keep abruptly interupting the game play by pausing it every 20 seconds.
Green Hill Act 2, Utopia, and GT all look significantly better than Frontiers. Sega needs to take a page with what they did with Mania and have such hardcore fans make their 3D open world Sonic game.
@@Sonic_Beyond Then why the other version, which for some reason dissappeared from the internet, runned at 60 FPS perfectly fine on normal graphics ? Because on this version, my PC lags at 20fps on minimum graphics.
@@paulo547 this is happening to me too i think this is because the game is defaulting to your integrated graphics idk how to fix it because the game is a batch file and not an exe file
i could say i tried to play GHP zone, level looks great.but wait! controling spindash and jump with mouse?!! you really? thats fucked of all game.just why:D
