In this video we take a look at 5 common Airsoft myths. This can be advice that is commonly thrown around the communities and is not always the right way to go.
Primarily this is for new players to Airsoft looking at some things I've seen a lot of new players do or be advised and in my own opinion do not need to worry about. We will cover some tech issues and budget as well.
The wealth of options available to us as Airsofters now is great, but it can be confusing when we are just starting out. I hope that the 5 items we look at here will help point you in the direction of having fun.
I hope you enjoy this video. If you would like more content from me then check out Rock Bottom Airsoft on Facebook and Instagram.
Thanks for watching.

If it's not broken don't fix it. Best advice ever.

I couldn't agree more mate. It can apply to lots of things in life.

I played with the idea of doing a whole series on buying a budget aeg kit like the elite force m4 cqb for 150 us dollars that includes battery and charger and use it till it breaks and do upgrades then. That way its still cheap airsoft. Just to prove it doesnt take a lot to get into airsoft.

That's a great idea. I have always been of the opinion that while Airsoft can be expensive, it doesn't have to be to get into it. I toyed with a similar idea, that was to take a budget aeg, upgrade straight away and compare it to something much more expensive. If you do that series let me know, certainly something I would watch.

The only thing ive done to my arcturus ar01cq is a new 21tpa 25k rpm motor as the old motor couldnt keep up with my finger gearbox would jam and was slow of trigger response. Other than that ive only bought a tracer and a flashlight

This is the best way to do upgrades. You used it, identified an area for improvement and have got the result you wanted.

I have bolle pilots, and they are super great, only twice more expensive than the trackers. They have really big view window, and you really dont even notice them. I have been shot right between eyes in them like 5 times, it does show scratches at that specific point, but you dont feel it, and it hasnt cracked whatsoever.

I will give them a try. Always like Bolle products whether for work or when I'm skirmishing. Thanks for the recommendation.

Very interesting point about the mosfet I've been told by a few that you need a mosfet to run an 11.1 battery to stop this and that

It's vague sometimes. You must is quoted a lot. However if your running 11.1 it's worth having a Mosfet just to protect the trigger contacts. You don't have to of course but with 11.1 it's worth it. As in the video 7.4 or nimh is fine. As always though a mosfet is a great upgrade but doesn't have to cost a fortune. You can get a basic one for about £20 with a few features or a base one for less.

Is there any advantages to mil-spec springs or none linares springs ?
@rockbottomairsoft
@rockbottomairsoft Год назад
There is a train of thought that non linear puts less strain on the system overall. This is due to the initial ease that the spring is compressed. So start up current should be reduced. However it usually boils down to using a spring that suits your application. I tend to use non linear.

I cannot stand elitist in the game. See so many older players laughing or joking at new players. Like fuck me mate we all started somewhere

I completely agree. Elitism causes problems in all sports and hobbies. Like you said, we all start somewhere. I like all kits as long as they work and the person using it enjoys it.

mosfet is the biggest scam. they are expensive and do basically nothing unless its a programable mosfet. its cool if you want a realistic m4 with burst fire/semi auto like the real thing. (yes the m4 is burst and semi, m4a1 is the auto/semi model) or binary trigger for a super cringe high speed low drag speedsoft build but generally not worth the money its just one more part that can break.

A mosfet is a type of semiconductor its best to think of it as a switch. The programmable functions are extra. I agree that plug and play generally just allow these functions and are not protecting your contacts from load. However a basic mosfet is very affordable and usually offers protection to the trigger contacts and a slight bump in response. I agree though that mosfets can burn out. Still a basic mosfet is a decent upgrade. The very costly trigger units, etc that are programmable are more on an individual basis. If you have the cash and want the features then great but otherwise a cheap mosfet will do the job.
