This was a great video! I'd say I've seen most videos on youtube on 5 out offense and this was one of the most concise while still covering all the important actions.
I love having the point guard dribble down the sidelines because the ballhog point guards like to be at the Top of Key. Having post player trail behind the ball and stop above the Top of Key promotes additional passing
Great video! Thank you for your time and guidance! This is legit super beneficial for young coaches like me trying to find an identity with my squad! 💯
1:32 actually in this case what you mentioned "strong side empty corner", that is the weak side, because ball handler dribbles the ball towards the other side. I like to call it as iso drag screen, because there's nobody in the weakside helper position.
I was referring to it as the strong side corner before the ball handler uses the drag, but I see your point. Also, I am stealing "iso drag" moving forward - love that terminology!
They can be both. However, for the most part early actions are unscripted and are typically determined by the spacing and where the ball is. A few quick examples would be flowing into a drag screen anytime the 5 man is trailing the ball in transition or flowing into a staggered screen when the ball is reversed through the trailer.
