@@Kafei01 Are you talking about players meeting Putin ? Where the heck is the Law that prohibits playerd meeting with the head of any other country... it's simply racism against ozil...
Andres Escobar is obviously the biggest one. But what about Roberto Baggio? He went into USA'94 as the best player in the world. He missed the penalty kick, and was never the same player again--internationally. He stayed on with the national team, though, even as a veteran, but he was never the same.
He also carried his team to the final scoring with only minutes left to tie Nigeria in the round of 16 then the game winner in ot. Scored in the closing minutes in quarter final to beat Spain, and scored 2 first half goals in a span of 10 min to beat Bulgaria in the semis. All this after nothing in the group stage. He wasn't fully fit for the final and people often forget 2 things from that shootout. Of the 5 Italian pk takers, only 2 Scored and even if Baggio had converted his, Brazil would still have won if they made their fifth kick.
I feel bad for David Luis he was one of my favorite footballer ever! He was all fun and had very good speed with the ball! 2014 wc David crying was really heart breaking moment!!
David Luiz' career was not ruined by the World Cup but his quality of sleep for the rest of his life was probably ruined. Even today, he still plays high-level football and helped Flamengo win the Copa Libertadores. That said, I'm not sure I've seen another player concede so many goals in big games.
I feel sorry for many Germans players who stopped scoring against Brazil. They could have broke many records. If i were the head coach of Germany , then i would had told my team to keep scoring more and more.
People got unsympathetic towards him because he called erdogan „my president“ at the heights of a strong refugee crisis conflict with many human rights violations between turkey and Germany. Erdogan is an authoritarian and stands against all European values. Özils „alliance“ with him and the fact that he doesn’t sing the national hymn is what made people strongly dislike him. Get your facts right, Özil behaved stupid and I won’t blame any person who isn’t fond of what he said and did
@@musiccer7446 it was way before that and the man said it himself "when we win I am German, when we lose I am not" that's clearly shows that he faced racism even before that picture+ his origin is Turkish nothing wrong in what he said and the world doesn't revolve around Europeans to decide what Erdogan is and what he is not just bc he is against your values, at the end he is a president of a sovereign country + Özil wasn't the ONLY one who didn't sing the national anthem, a lot of players don't sing it and it's not the end of the world, stop with these bullshit excuses under every comment about him it won't justify anything
Mustafi and Can are Muslims of Turkish descent too. Why are they still being called up and well respected by the DFB and fans? Because they didn’t go to Turkey under a authoritarian regime and made a political statement siding with the opposing country.
No DeGea? From WC2018 onwards he's not been viewed in the same way as the seasons leading up to it sometimes viewed as ManUtd's best player now he's seen as more of a calamity and he made mistakes which cost Spain goals in that WC I.e the first game 3-3 vs Portugal. He'd still be 🇪🇸's keeper now if he was being raved about like before.
oezil wasn't ''shuned'' because he took a picture with erdogan. nor because of his heritage. he was shunned, and rightly so, because he, a ''german'', took a picture with erdogan , and captioned it ''my president''
4:03 meeeeh... I remember the 2014 World Cup pretty well, and Özil wasn't a standout performer at all. He played really bad, in fact, despite his great goal against Algeria on round-of-16. But I agree the hatred torwards him because of his 2018 performance was completely undeserved.
not really. back then everyone was fascinated with Ronaldinho and CR7 also wanted to prove that he could samba. when he went to Madrid he changed his style of playing.
I would like to comment that David Luiz did found retribution. Yes, he left Europe to go to the Brazilian League, which on the eyes of some European's means that he will retire on a low notch. However, even thought he lost his prime, he is definitely one of the best Centerbacks here in Brazil, even winning the Copa do Brasil(Brazil's Copa del Rey) and the Copa Libertadores(South America's Champions League), and being one of the key players for Flamengo. David might have lost it all after 2014, but his carrer is not ruined for good. Also, fun fact, Flamengo did a 7-1 themselves in Libertadores this year, so he felt what a Black-Red team doing a 7-1 feels like.
I feel bad for David luiz bc he got left the backline and captain role after silva got red and couldn’t play next game and tbh they should of given the captain role to Julio the keeper or Fernandinho or Marcelo
As a player of the German national team, Özil shouldn't have given this demonstration of public support for the Turkish president who internationally known for hus totalitarian way of ruling the country. Özil being sacked was widely supported and reasonible in my opinion. You have to make your choices and Özil did.
Oh yes, because Germany definitely doesn't support even sell weapons to totalitarian leaders and brutal dictators (sarcasm), German precision-guided bombs drop on Yemeni children every day.
He wasn't sacked, he declared himself he's had enough within days of Germany's World Cup exit. And why would anyone sack him over a photo with the Turkish president? Gündoğan is still with the team four years later, he didn't receive any repercussions whatsoever.
Yes, it's also reasonable for Germany's exit in 2022 Fifa. What a sore looser! Exited with humiliation. Well deserved humiliation to Germans 😂😂😂. Germans will never forget 2022 Fifa world cup humiliation.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@yeahwellthatsjustlikeyouro7466 Might have been an emberassing performance, but Özil wouldn't have helped at all. He is way beyond his peak. No big clubs want him now. Germany doesn't need midfielders. What they need is an attacker and defenders.
You should mention Fernando Torres because he had the same issue as Ronaldo in 2010 in he never came back the same because he insisted on playing in the WC despite the injury
Hi, how are you I wanted you to make a video on kids at another level in Got Talent shows Can You make that video so that everyone can see those kids please.
spelled *CURSE wrong @4:10 and i strongly disagree with the Asamoah Gyan part. HE went to Al Ain for the money and actually the 2010 World Cup helped him gain stardom. playing in the Premier League is an honor, best league in the world so clearly he was doing something right even if he was playing for Sunderland, who were a mid-table team at that time.
i came here after seeing the thumb nail just to say that ozil slander will not be tolerated. he left because the german people did not appreciate the one in a billion player that he was. they did not deserve him. real football fans know the talent he possessed.
so nobody gonna say that it was the balls fault america got a goal in 2010 world cup the jubalani ball curves and even bounces after being saved and alot of spin or no spin can still make the ball move strange ways
5.David Luiz -idk what to say after the wc he was still playing on good teams and had some decent seasons 4.Rob Green -who? 3.Asamoah -he could had made more than this 2.Ozil -he was overrated anyways 1.Cristiano Ronaldo -he at least has a record for playing in the most streak wc and score in all of them
David Luiz literally put up the worst defensive performance in the history of the WC and you blame Marcelo? 🤣🤣 Just look how he used to make horrendous passes and used to step up to get the ball back only to be exploited in the space left behind. It's one of the first lessons you learn if you play CB i.e, to not commit. Marcelo on the other hand is a Wing Back. His job is to attack when the team's in possession of the ball. Are you from a different dimension or something mate? 🤣🤣
Ozil was ruined around 2013, after all he missed vs Dortmund in the Champions semifinal. In 2014 Germany played most games with 10 players, since Ozil did nothing
Booo take ozil off your thumbnail. The world cup didn't ruin his career. The way the DFB treated him ruined him! I still want Germany to do well, but they did Ozil wrong 😭
You look at goal though you can't have the time of life for your first game or a few hours before I see that being done for this year? You look like they are a bit you're not. But
3:25 so a player can blatantly bloke a goal with his hands... and all that results is a penalty kick? why doesnt everyone do that? that makes zero sense.... it should be an automatic goal for the team. wtf? how does this work?
yes that is the rule. player gets sent off and even can be banned from a few more matches in future but a block is a block regardless. lampard scored against germany but we didnt have var back then so it didnt count. even tho the shot was litteraly shown on big screens of the stadium referee didint do shit. what can we do rules is rules. best thing we suck it up
