Love your videos! Especially the glide bait stuff! Do you ever fish a rat? It blows my buddy’s mind how I catch 2lb spots on Lanier with a 10 inch rat!
thank you! heck yes i love those swimbaits/ glide baits. super fun to throw. i have fished a rat but i actually have not fished one in while especially on Lanier. i used to throw it on ponds. maybe i should pick it back up!👀 it is mind blowing the size fish that will attack a bait much larger than they can eat. what is your biggest fish on the rat?
Totally agree with your top picks. Those picks work at Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn and Lake Fork. Why aren’t you at Lake Fork catching those pigs like you did last year about this time of year ?? I’m headed there next week and will definitely be throwing a big Swimbait on windy main lake points.
yes they do! i wish i was! trip didnt pan out this year i have a slammed next few months. ill get back there sooner or later. i love that lake. that is awesome! i am jealous. let me know how the swimbait fishing goes!
3/8oz for both the swimbait and underspin in deeper water (20-25+ feet). then 1/4oz for shallower fishing. swimbait trailer size depends on the size of baitfish.
A white spinner bait has a special place in my heart from growing up fishing Florida. A chatter bait is another excellent one, I’ve caught so many big ones from both. A swim jig with a chunk D trailer is another good one for me. A trick shad and Medina mini glide are two of the most productive glides I own. Great video.
great information! i can tell you have Florida roots😂 sounds like one of the guys i fish with and he grew up fishing in Florida. its a different world down there with some giant fish! man those are some solid glides very sneaky. thank you.
I found your channel looking up things for Hartwell. Absolutely loved your map breakdown of ditches. I struggle with finding structure and what stage the fish are in. I’m really impressed with your content! New sub. God Bless! Edit to answer question: I’m neither spinnerbait or chatterbait but only because I’ve only caught 1 fish on each lure my whole life 😔😄
appreciate it! its tough to consistently stay on fish no doubt. they move so much especially spotted bass. thank you! that is funny you should try throwing them more... they work!😂
@@campetro10 I believe you! I grew up in Florida and EVERYONE I seen fishing was throwing a spinnerbait, especially before the chatterbaits got big. I enjoy throwing both. I just can’t figure out what I’m missing? I never have confidence with trailers or colors, size, weight, or blade combos. Of o could figure that out for them, maybe I could then actually learn when to throw them?! 🤔 God Bless!
@q8381 dont overthink it. like a lot of things in life you just have to do it to build the confidence. i would start with a white spinnerbait and a white chatterbait. throw a 3.3 or 3.8 white keitech on the back or just a small fluke style trailer and you will get bit. throw them on docks, rocks, and wood blowdowns. throw both now! they work year round but now is the time to build the confidence. hopefully that helps!
I had a highschool fishing tournament at lake oconee about 2 weeks ago and since we’ve had a ton of rain recently here we did pretty good there with the chatterbait
@@campetro10 I had thought about trying that on the underspin because I love the Cast stuff but I like the spotchoker and didn't want double eyes. Looks abnormal to me. I'll have to give it a shot. I assume you were just very careful pulling the eyes to not tear the plastic too much.
