Great discussion. Man the amount of brown / green / yellow tones I see from trendy portrait presets... not my thing. So many "styles" looking the same now. Then there are some standout photographers whose work is recognizable just from their strong, unique compositions.
the bar is low. there is so much low frequency work in the marketplace. all you need to do is make high frequency work and you instantly stand out for the right reasons.
It is like you read my mind. All of this has been excatly what I have been thinking about a lot lately. Especially when it comes to trends! It is hard not to fall into that trap sometimes! But when I don't and push to be my authentic self it so rewarding! This was the video I needed to see today! Thank you Carty! 👏🔥💜
Many thanks, Carty, for a great video. I pray that many more people find it. It's my 63rd birthday today. 8th March 1961. Stay well. PS: make a call to the NAIL SALON. GOD bless you.
Authenticity was such a huge hurdle for me in the first few years of my business. It was a bit of a hangover from my marketing and communications career, which never felt authentic to me, especially as a journalist. Once I rebranded to Big White Dog Photography and embraced the edgy, outdoors, foul-mouthed Angela, I started becoming more successful and attracting the kind of clients I want to work with.
