1 ice in front of fan 2 set ceiling fans to counter clock 3 soak clothes in ice and hang front of fan 4. 2 fans, one near window, one on opposite side creating cross ventilation 5. Use a humidifier. For those as impatient as me!

Yes, you are right, cold air is heavier, however ceiling fans create an airflow that moves air from the top (hot air) to the bottom, thus pushing the cold air to the top and so on. This creates a loop of cold air being circulated in the room and gives you that nice breeze feeling.
