Due to late lactation it has become late to breastfeed my baby. So we started formula milk. On date I started breastfeed her but that is not sufficient so continuing to use formula milk. Hello Indira , the more you breastfeed your baby more milk will be produced . Drink 2-3 glasses of milk in a day , add porridge’s in your diet , include green leafy vegetables and take adequate rest , drink adequate water. Put baby to the breast after every 3 hours

I forgot to testify ooo We pulled through it... Now we have enough milk anytime we want to eat. The reply I got here helped me alot. Taking enough fluids like water, glasses of milk, soups, oatmeal, I learnt to relax mind and stopped panicking due to lack of milk supply 😢, I started to eat VERY VERY well (I ate more of beans), get enough rest by sleeping anytime my baby sleeps (I stay alone so, I learnt not to rush myself anymore but do my housework when my baby is awake and not disturbing, I also started to cook once a day, enough food to last me for a day or 2) whilst I support with oatmeal, glasses of milk, pap... They really helped me. At first I felt like it's not working 😢 but before 2weeks runs out, I noticed small small changes which encouraged me to continue and today we have enough supply... Hello savitha , you have to latch him oftenly to the breast with your support . The more he sucks , more milk will be produced. You drink 2-3 glasses of milk daily . Keep snacking in between meals and you will definitely get milk supply .

Hello Aarti , thanks ! Start massaging both breasts daily before bath with coconut oil . Assist baby to latch correctly by holding nipple with your fingers and putting in baby’s mouth . Once baby gets the idea of sucking then the size of the nipple will change in few days and baby will get use to both breasts

Speaking from experience (I’m a breastfeeding consultant and a mum of 3 all born via c sections) You absolutely can breastfeed right after c section. To recommend to give baby formula instead is rubbish. The sooner you get the baby on the breast the sooner your milk will come in. Also if you offer baby a bottle right after birth there’s a very high chance of baby getting nipple confusion & bottle preference which will lead to the baby refusing the breast completely.
Hello Ola , yes we do agree with you but unfortunately majority of obstetricians prescribe formula milk to baby as mother is not in the state to breastfeed after c-section in many cases specially during first 6-12 hours . This video is in support of breastfeeding .

Hello pinky , use a nursing pillow , help the baby to get started by placing your nipple, with the areola, into her mouth. Compress your breast lightly with your fingers to make it easier for her to latch on, and keep trying until she succeeds. If your baby doesn’t seem interested in your breast, try expressing a few drops of milk into her mouth to give her a taste of what’s in store. Try with these tricks and most important is that you should be calm while these attempts. Don’t get frustrated with the failures. It’s very natural and you will succeed if you try and try .

Thank you mam for this information. In my case it was due to child being ill and admittted in hospital for 3.5 months. Definitely my stress levels were high at that time.I used to express, but only two times and he could be given breastmilk only for 1 month because later developed temporary lactose intolerance due to acute diarrhoea .That is resolved now. Can you please tell me how I can increase milk supply? Child is reluctant to breastfeed as he is habituated with bottle and also because my supply is very low. Will try the ayurveda food items you mentioned. Other than that please advise what I can do ? Should I be expressing every 3 hours and giving instead ?

Hello Annapurna, you have to latch the baby even though if she cry . Once she understand that milk comes after sucking the breasts then she will be interested to suck. So try and try again to latch her without frustration.

Hi, my name is Adina and I am from Pakistan. My baby is not eating anything or drinking any other formula feed other than breast feeding. He is almost 11 months old and he doesnt like anything to have in meal. He was very used to eat three times in a day while 5-7 months but when he started teething he left all his eating habits. I wonder if PP depression would even exist if we all lived in the ‘village’ environment. Motherhood was never meant to be this difficult! I’m ever jealous of tribal women who support breastfeeding, baby wear, co sleep and nurture each other with no judgment. Here in the UK, our partners return to work within a couple of weeks of the birth leaving the mother to figure out everything alone. When baby finally sleeps mums in western society wonder if it’s possible to nap while showering while eating lunch!

I delivered 4 month back under c section. Lscs done in 36 wks. Because my baby don't have blood supply in uterus. I don't have milk supply. Later I I have low milk supply. Hello dear, if you have low milk supply then the issue in your case seems like incorrect latching. Work on your latching technique and assist baby to latch with lot of patience and love. Once the baby gets the hold of sucking your milk supply will automatically improve.

Hi mam, Very informative. When my baby is 9 months and started taking solid food she refused to take milk from me as it will take time to fill her stomach. So milk supply got reduced after 10 months. I realized that and got breast pump to feed her . I used to pump at different timing this further reduced the milk supply. Now she is 12 months old. But I am able to pump only 30-50 ml of milk per day. I want to feed her at least 2 times a day now. If I pump consistently at a regular time does it help me to improve milk. Suggest me madam.

Hello Doctor.. my baby will turn 3 months old on 19 Feb.. I suffering from low breastmilk supply since day 10. I took care of everything diet shatavari halim garlic methi and proper water intake. Also took perinorm and lactare on doctor's advice. But no results were there. My baby is majorly on formula, I take him for latch before every bottle feed. Don't know if there is remedy left coz I have tried almost everything.
Hello Vindhya , try with massaging breast daily . Use coconut oil. Also though you don’t get milk still latch the baby to that side for some time everytime you feed.

Hello dear , first of all stay calm. Try to latch the baby with very calm and fresh mind, singing songs or by talking to the baby while you latch. Help baby to latch with your assistance like hold the nipple and areola with your fingers and put it in baby’s mouth and press a little to make baby understand that milk is coming from there. Hi mam my baby is about 9mo. We introduced him formula at 1mo but just to make a habit of bottle. We gave only 30ml milk to him. Other than that he was exclusively bf. During his 6m we tried to inc formula from 30 to 60 but suddenly baby started refusing bottle. And till now he rejecta it. I got my period just next month post delivery. All was ok till 6m but 6moth onwards just before and during periods my supply drops a lot. And generally also its decreasing. Now baby ia on solids but refuses formula entirely and it seems my supply ia dropping too. Although i feed him regularly. How to help with formula feed apart from bowl spoon option and how do i increase my supply. Plz help
Hello Swati You can try with A2 cow milk . Add 25% water to the milk and boil it . Try that milk with small silver glass directly. You can drink more milk . Ensure you get 7-8 hours sleep in a day. Add whole grain porridges with nuts in breakfast.
