@Usachatnow same for me. I have been on finasteride for 12 months and it didn't do anything, not even altering or slowing down my crazy hair shedding. Now it's been 8 weeks on dutasteride and I am shedding too much hair( even more than prior to start it) and I can definitely tell that my hair volume decreased a lot in these recent weeks. I don't know what's wrong or if it's a normal process. It's so stressful
I've been in finasteride for two years and my hair hasn't got any better. On duatesteride now and it's my last hope. I would recommend people start on fin first as people have had great results from it but if you're not getting much after a year get on duatesteride or just take that from that start if you're aggressively balding.
I spent 3 years on finasteride and partially messed up a few hair transplants while having to prove finasteride wasn't completely stopping the loss to get prescribed dutasteride. Now I'm sure fin did help and the damage would have been way worse without fin but slowly losing ground is still losing ground.
oral? and how long have u been on it & when did it start working for you? what dosage? and is there some tests u do to periodically check ur fertility and sexual life ?
All great but you're presenting your particular case vs. scientific findings presented in the video. With all duta respect (haha), the latter are more applicable or relevant to most of us.
I used propecia for 3 years i started to notice a little more progression. So i switched too advodart 2 years ago havent noticed any further loss and no sides so far.
Dutasteride master race here . 0.5mg a day = zero side effects whatsoever. But much more regrowth than with finasteride (yes i was on 1mg finasteride everyday for about 2 years before i made the switch to dutasteride).
@@zequinha340 wow! Do you know at what levels are your total testo? I’m switching for dutasteride and my testo is jumping to 1.000 ng/dl. I wish i could use more frequently (i’m at 2 times a week) but i’m not sure if this high testo is a concern. Can you share your experience so far?
@@paulosergiodepaula my total test is in 1000-1100, with finasteride it grew to 900s. For what I know it is not a cause for concern. I use dut everyday and stoped using fin, i dont think that using both drugs is a great idea (personal opinion) because you have data with each drug in many doses daily but not both at the same time and also if you take both you have an extra if one doesnt have the benefit of the other in some way, but this is alsi true for side effects ;) just an opinion, i prefer dut :D. Hope it helps, lets grow hair together 💪
I'm sure you know that dutasteride and finasteride have a pretty much equal side effect profile which is the only thing that matters because outcome data is more important than the theoretical stuff. Don't overthink this too much by talking to "experts" who tell you to stop finasteride every couple of months or that dht is important until 21. Clinical data ALWAYS has more weight than the opinion from a single person no matter the experience. Dutasteride is the objectively better drug and DHT is a trash hormone which every male can savely supressed to infinity after puberty.
"Dutasteride is the objectively better drug and DHT is a trash hormone which every male can savely supressed to infinity after puberty." You got scientific data on that?
@@juniorslice9618 Watch the videos from haircafe. DHT does contribute to acne, increases the risk of heart failure, gives you backhair and protects your brain from a stroke. The side effects are probably from the change in balance between testosterone and estrogen otherwise fin and dut had different side effect profile despite decreasing dht levels by different amounts.
@@aaquibkhan4421 As for me: I got watery semen and weak erections, but other than that my hair feels very refreshed My acne also shutdown and my face skin looks flawless now. I have no idea how that happened. I swear my face skin hasn’t been like this since before puberty!
@@genny9410 great. Not major change between fin and dut regarding efficacy for my case (I’m on 2.5). Besides that yeah everything is perfect still have good hair
I've been using oral Dutasteride daily (0.5mg) for 3 and half years. No side effects and still hanging on to the hair. I was on Finasteride for 4 and a half years. Edit: I don't want or plan on having children, so the sperm count situation doesn't bother me.
Ginseng, Protein Powder, Citrulline, Taurine, Lysine, Tomatoe products, B-Vitamins, Glyercol, Ashwagandha, Maca Powder All those vasodialators and herbs help with erections, tesosterone balance and libido, the protein powder (or anything with protein powder) will instantly increase the size of your ejaculations waiting a couple days with sexual activity and avoiding porn (avoid overstimulation and stroking too hard) will also help
Hey man, can you do an updated video on your current daily hair care routine and how you apply your topicals? I've searched your channel but the last routine is from 2 years ago.. thanks!
Interesting and valuable video. Nevertheless, I personally feel better on dut than on fin. Morover, I'm even considering upping the dose from 0,5 to 2,5 mg.
do you think a hair transplant would work for a 20 year that stabilized their hair for 2 years prior to looking into surgery (with meds), and doesn't want to alter the hairline (just add density), provided that their donor area is very thick and coarse?
that depends, some clinics will take you because they want the business, and some more honest ones will deny you because you are too young and its better to wait more years to see whether your hairloss is still on going (for a longer time period of data). personally if you stablized it at 20 years old, i would wait until you are at least 27 to look into HT if you really need it at that point. if it hasn't affected your hairline at the moment then you are good, i think you're overthinking the density part (but im not sure because I cant see what yours looks like)
@@kerem7188 you can still save it with the medication and if you need a HT after it will not be as bad as if you don't do anything. I started thinning at 20-22 and if I was more aware of the treatments and misinformation, I would have saved all my hair. I got a transplant now at 35 and starting topical min+fin to save my mid to crown area
@@kerem7188Weather the storm soldier. Do you know, 5ar2 enzymes go through only a few periods of High Activity and then they return to normal again? This is the reason why kost people reach a norwood level and then don’t thin until a few years later. So don’t give up yet. *Throws Avodart at you*
I was one who swore fin wasnt giving me sides. I was spreading gospel and now regret. 1 years into usage in my latest daily stint of usage “load” size became watery and very weak. Which also impacted my feeling of release. I dont want to stop and lose hair but im certainly not interested in amplifying sides. Very disappointing. Also i got Gynecomastia and wow and i just frustrated
Hello ,one thing happened to me am using minoxidil and doing some physical exercise which made my hair dense with in. 3 months but from the last month There seems no effect of minoxidil ,hair is shedding, and I stopped excercise due to work, is this because of exercise or minoxidil reached its point?
Dude it's just a shedding. Hair are going throughout cycles your whole life. They fall then regrow then fall then regrow etc... Minoxidil doesn't stop working. It works forever (as long as you use it). And its peak result are around 1 year . But after one year it's gonna get stable (as long as you are also on finasteride or dutasteride). Don't freak out about the shedding, the hair needs to go to come back stronger and thicker.
I used it for 12 months but stopped because of heart related sides. I was more sensitive than an average guy but I would advise anybody to do blood pressure before test and EKG before.
I agree with what you said But topical did not affected at all All the side effects disappeared And no hair loss on I decided to changed back to finasteride topical and all the sexual side affects came back I’m ending finasteride topical as well I will start dutasteride topical again Until new medication appears
I am on Finasteride for 9 Months and I don't have any side effects. I consider also to add Minoxidil but I wonder if that is good idea because I defintely need a hair Transplantation. What would you recommend to add Minoxidil or do a ht first and than add Minoxidil.
I took Fin for 20 years and trued Dutasteride recently. After 2 months of use I started to experience dull headaches and then extreme light headedness. I stopped taking it, and it took a couple of weeks, at least, for the light headedness to go away.. Unfortunately this medication was too strong for my system. Back on Fin now and everything is fine. Although it was very disappointing to deal with a shed 4-6 weeks in and not see the fruits of it.
I have heard recently that because of dutasteride molecular weight its harder to cross the blood brain barrier in comparison to finasteride and may actually have less of an effect on neurosteroids in comparison to finasteride.
@@davidomeara4704 I have heard that before but this is what someone said: Studies indicate finasteride has good bioavailability and penetration into sebum, hair follicles and skin after oral administration. It can be detected in semen and cerebrospinal fluid. So it has decent BBB permeability. Dutasteride, with its higher molecular weight, is likely unable to passively diffuse as easily through the BBB lipid membranes. Studies show lower central nervous system penetration compared to finasteride. Levels of dutasteride detected in semen and cerebrospinal fluid are much lower than levels seen with finasteride.
Molecular weight is only important to consider when using topical products. Yes, dutasteride's molecular weight is higher than finasteride's. But if you use it orally, it does not matter because then Fin or Dut can travel to any tissue with 5 alpha reductase enzyme presence and exert their action
Because of more data on topical finasteride + micro-dosing topical finasteride compared to topical dutasteride. Many clinics and doctors I have visited and spoke with do use topical Finasteride with their patients more and more.
all those finasteride normies are just leaving hair on the table, litterally. dutasteride has regrown my crown in a matter of months with no side effects. not sure why this channel is named ''let's get hair'' when the guy is going all half measures with a lesser drug that doesn't reach completely his hair follicules.
For me your opinion about oral finasteride vs topical finasteride IS oriented because now You're using a tropical form INSEAD of the oral form. But WE don't know enough thé topical form (especialy in the long term) compare to thé classic oral finasteride
Dutasteide is a better inhibitor then Finasteride with almost no systemic side effects when topically applied, unlike finasteride that goes systemic immediately. For this reason the topical Finasteride is not better messier version of the oral form (unless used at very low concentration).
I am 2nd month post HT with 6.5k grafts done. I was sort of No 5 to 6ish. Started using 1.25mg of Finasteride a month ago [so 1 month after HT], and I already see new hairs sprawling out on temples area where the grafts weren't transplanted. This is crazy!
@@roosvelt1984 Well im taking it only 3 times per week, with no sides at all so I think its a pretty okay dose. That is what doctor prescribed me for 6 months. Thats due in mid March, so I guess hes going to lower the dosage as well.
Was on finasteride for a 3-4 years- no side effects and hair loss was slowed but didnt stop. Decided to switch to duta which i've now been using since 2016- hair loss effectively stopped. Just to note that whilst the hair has been maintained, its quality seems to have reduced slightly with the shafts not as smooth as they once were. (Dont believe this is a side effect as my hair had started to become progressively more coarse from the crown outwards ahead of my hair loss- but the important thing that its still on my head!).
I'm 22 and I've been taking fin from the last 2 years and my hair still falls off when i toch it I don't see cosmetic changes that i can notice but its still falling so i have been thinking to ad dutastrride twice a week, can someone tell me should i start taking it twice a week or should i start taking it daily and stop fin
Hair shedding is normal thing , if your hairline is the same as when u started taking fin then congrats , fin is doing what it is supposed to do , you don’t need dut
100%. Once you know you’re losing ground the overall consensus is to start one per week … down the road even two…. And further down the road more …. as you keep aging toward old-man/ship lol. :)) . Im at 3 and 4. Alternating weeks. So EOD. And enjoying the new growth. Cheers
@@3897-s4uthe dream is to be on full dutasteride but its too expensive at the moment. Cursed world. I have to cope with dut twice a week with fin the rest of the days. DAMN.
Almost a year on dutasteride and I have no side effects. On the other hand however, I've been almost three years on oral minoxidil and recently I'm starting to feel a couple of side effects, so it is time to reduce the dose or take a break of it.
Yeah you make a good case that Dut is more of the nuclear option. With more strength, comes more side effects, which means the question is: how much are you willing to risk? Mood, anxiety, and depressions risks are something I want to avoid, so Dut is the last thing down the line. As for your analysis of Topical Fin being the more narrowed modality for targeting hair loss (compared to O.Fin), I would say you have some logical conclusions as well, but you neglect to mention that Topical Fin is much more expensive, while Oral can be super cheap. Unless you want to mix your own stuff like in a chemical lab, which can be sketchy.
Bro, these drugs don’t give you depression/anxiety/brain fog. You’re giving in to the fear mongering. If anything, these drugs PREVENT you from getting depressed because they let you keep your hair!!
Fear mongering dutasteride when in reality it is actually the safer option. I have way less sides on oral dutasteride than even topical fin or low dose oral fin. You need to understand that DHT is a trash hormone and it is not responsible for nitric oxide in the penis. It is testosterone
Dutasteride field report, week 2; I feel zero side effects. My libido is normal. Still fapping a few times a day. No mood changes. Im very sensitive when it comes to *my feelings* . I can immediately detect and trace any smidgen of unease in my mind, but i didn’t find any unusual mood problems at all. My mental acuity feels the same too. I mention this since dut shuts down brain DHT unlike finasteride. As for hair: Its only been 2 weeks so not enough time for any effects to become clear.
I started DUT 10 months ago. First 2 months increased LIBIDO. Now 8 months later suffering from ED & Lower Sex Drive. As you said in the video, this might have to do with the 20% free TEST converting to estrogen later on...... I'm gonna quit DUT now, It sucks that it will still be in my system for months. I will do wonders for your hair though
I took fin 1mg every day for one year lost ground had sometimes had side effects I now take 2 dutasteride and 1 fin a week and my hair has stabilised no side effects but I’m thinking I should change back to a higher fin mg
I was on topical fin for 6 months and did not see any results. Added dutasteride 2 x a week. Fast forward 6 months with no sides, I got pretty significant ED sides which are slowly improving but I'm off everything now and regret adding it. It's easy to be greedy for hair gains and I am the fool for it now.
