like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ru-vid.comUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

To end a call on Google Home Mini, you tap and hold one of the two sides. On the standard Google Home speaker it's just a tap on top of it. Furthermore, you don't have to wait for the LEDs and sound after you say "Hey Google". You can just talk to it like you would to a person, disregarding the delay. Google Home will understand what you're saying just fine.

I bought 10 of them. My house is 3500 square feet. It's great playing music throughout the house. I paired them with Hue, Nest, Wemo, Roomba, and tv. But, with all that, cable wifi really slow down. So I upgraded to 1gig internet speed and bought 3 Google wifi. Everything works great. I also changed the Google wake up command to "hey Ghoul" or "Ok Ghoul"

I really love mine it’s great. Alarms work well, same with reminders. My family mainly use it to cast things to the chromecast, which helps because we can accidentally choose the wrong device since we have 4 of them in the house.

Thanks for actually covering HOW one of these can be useful. Most of these videos don’t begin to explain WHY you may actually want one. I’m still not sure it has enough features to be much more than an occasional novelty use for me, but this was the first video that tried to show how it may actually have potential for everyday use.

Everyone who has one of these I suggest you plug your device into a smart outlet. The reason is, you can set your smart outlet to only turn on during times you need your Google Home or Amazon Alexa. If you don't do this, your device will constantly use your bandwidth and at the end of your billing cycle, you might use up all of your data with whomever you have your internet through. This happened to me twice and when I researched this, this is a common problem. Mine only turns on for 15 minutes before I go to work and for a few hours after I get off. On weekends I keep it on a bit longer but also your Google Chromecast dongle should be plugged into a separate smart outlet. Just something to think about in another video.

It is also very useful for when you you can't find your phone, you tell it "I lost my phone" it will offer to make your phone do a noise on max volume 👍👍🎄

My google home mini had picked up the voice commands from your talking... they’re playing Harry Potter theme for classical music which is incredible :D

The Google Home Mini actually has a pretty good speaker. It can get louder than some of the speakers at the same price. I got it on sale for $27 at best buy and it definitely is worth. The only MAJOR flaw is that it has to be plugged in to work.

Using the Google home mini for alarms is super convenient however there are a few shortcomings that I hope Google can resolve in a future update. 1. If there is a power outage it would be nice if there was a back up alarm run on a paired phone so you aren't running late for whatever you've got going on. This is one key feature that makes me not trust the Google Home Alarms as you never know when a power outage will hit. 2. If you set alarms for specific dates e.g. 7:30 a.m. on the 13th of December and 7:30 a.m. on the 14th of December, when you go in the Google home app to see what alarms you have it just shows up as two alarms for 7:30 a.m. It should display which date these alarms are set for if they are a specific date. 3. It would be nice if you could actually create alarms in the Google home app as well. I've sent my feedback to Google and if you agree I'd encourage you to send feedback as well, the more people that request it the more likely that Google will implement it! 😁

You can also play background sounds or white noise for sleeping I have only tried country night and ocean so far.. "hey google Play Ocean sounds background" I have no idea how long it will play though.

I like that you can ask it "where's my phone" and it will ring your phone. And you can ask it to tell you a story. And use it for your shopping list

We have just about every version of Alexa, and we love them. But I did just order a Google Home as I heard it answers many more questions than Alexa.

Well I now have both devices and to get Frank my echo dot experience is by far my favorite yet. It's so Natural to say Alexa plus you can choose other wake words if you choose , computer, Echo or Amazon if you prefer. The skills rapator is mighty huge with over 50000 skills (apps) to personalized your experience n it's functionality. My only issue is that it's not as accurate at general knowledge as Google's home mini . But you will absolutely love it guarantee. The home mini is not as intuitive n needs more skills . But Google's platform will get better over time but right now Alexa remains in the lead
