Chris I think I speak for the entire community that follows you, you have to create an entire GoPro course, from when you record to how you edit and export
Nobody ever had problems with these things. Now it's the time for the "REAL" language and REAL questions. So does it still overheat? Does it still have problems with saving the footage? Does it still randomly shut down? What about image artifacts? What marketing tricks did they use to force you to buy their stuff (like proprietary microphones, new dimensions, different button layout etc.).
I saw other video from other creator comparing gopro Hero 12 11 and 10 recording in 5k altogether. Hero 10 overheat and shutdown at 33 mins, Hero 11 at 36 mins and Hero 12 at 1 Hour 5 mins with 1% battery left. I forgot his channel is autentech or something...
I was raging at the screen then I realized what you were doing!! 😂😂. I was like, that footage is amazing and my GoPro 12 is the best action cam on the planet!!
@@sekathorI have it for like a month, before I had GoPro 9. I have to say I am really really disappointed with user experience. Software in general with GoPro cameras are horrible and 12 is no exception. Touch screen is terrible. Image quality, stabilization is amazing but using it is a nightmare. I also have GoPro subscription which is not bad. I also hate resolution and frame rate limitations. In general I am disappointed with GoPro 12 honestly I am thinking to switch insta360 ace pro or dji action 4! I almost forgot GoPro accessories are not good quality either. The new 3-way stick which I had for few months used it maybe 3 times simple broke. And I take good care of my stuff! Hope you will enjoy more than me.
LOL, took me a minute to realize it was satire. I was like, "that looks good, what's he talking about." LOL, I just used your link to GoPro to purchase my goPro 12 from their website (currently on sale for $299 and I couldn't pass that up). Hope that helps a little.
My HERO9 finally died after years and years of abuse. I thought I'd have to find a HERO10 but now I know I can buy the latest HERO12 and still use all my accessories... AWESOME!
You forgot reason 6. Every GoPro ever made overheats in normal earthly conditions and you lose critical footage. For some reason, people just accept this and keep buying them.
Almost everyone is saying it sucks in low light but those music festival shots were awsome! You are as always an inspiration to all the small youtubers. Well done, thanks!
Cheers legend! 🙌 yeah I mean if you compare any action camera to like a full frame Sony a7 camera, then they all suck in low light 😂 but that’s like comparing a submarine to a Formula One car… they’re not supposed to be compared lol
Ha ha Chris... Seriously though, there are so many reasons to NOT actually buy the GoPro. Just picking on two things (and probably the most important), they still crash, freeze etc... and battery life. Are they better than the competition? No. Compared to the other great options out there, they just don't hack it any more - which is why all my GoPros recently got smashed with a hammer and thrown in the bin. They are so bad, I would not sell them to some unsuspecting individual.
exactly 😁👍 you forgot to review the overheating problem though, which is a huge factor for an action camera. Having said this I am happy they solved the problems at cold temperatures though, which made the 11 pretty much unusable below -10 degrees. Not that any review ever mentioned that as they all focused on the overheating issue,...
I’m thrilled with my Hero 11-the image stabilization is fantastic. While there’s a lot of hype around DJI products, I don’t think that necessarily makes them better. I’m glad I snagged my GoPro at Costco.
I am completely embarrassed that it took me a full 2 minutes before realizing that you were joking 🤣🤣 Kept thinking, wow, this is an epic camera 🙈 Thanks for sharing
@@ChrisRogers Absolutely wrapped to have stumbled across this video. Mind me asking what sort of setup you have for the 50/50 footage, half underwater, half above please dude? Brilliant video. Love it.
@@ChrisRogers you’re the legend dude lol So go that lens, and do you use a GoPro Tray please Chris? Do you think I’d be best off chasing that 50/50 dome setup for filming sharks? I’m stick feeding sharks, from land, and the sharks generally come within a meter of me. So I’ve been thinking about having a camera sitting in the water filming away, while I’m focusing on the sharks. I really appreciate any feedback mate, extremely grateful.
@@AussieSharkGuy I never film in water without a Gdome. GoPro and all action cameras won't publicly admit this but the stabilisation does work as well underwater without a dome because the water magnification changes. but using a dome keeps the same FOV underwater so stabilisation works perfectly and it also makes the water clarity appear better. the only thing you might have a hard time with is the buoyancy of the Dome will make it a little hard to keep underwater but think it would be manageable.
I really appreciate you taking the time to post this video and your honest feedback. I was just about to buy one, so glad I found this video first phew!!!. Think i'll just stick with my creative VADO HD :)
That was the funniest and most informative video about the GoPro 12. We all know the specs, but seeing this tiny little camera in so many different circumstances and location: Greatest Showman, Chris. Congrats and thank you.
ok, those footage made with GoPro are not that bad. main problem for me price and value followed by reliability: GoPro is dead company, simply everybody does better, cheaper and more value. I ve got insta360 RS ONE
Great vd, but I don't belive you recorded night scenes by Gopro. You can setup a lot of settings but its not possible with this kind of sensor. I know, we can setup the ISO, shutter + gimbal, can you show it? Proof it? ;) I love Gopro but night scenes are the Achilles heel in this camera.. I think, please let us know how to make scenes like you have made, thx :) As always, you have made fantastic video with joke :) I've scared, wow Chris don't like GP?
I mean I could send you raw footage🤷♂️😂 but also no big music festival let’s you take in big cameras anyway unless you’re actually working there... All those scenes were shot in 5.3k 8:7 ratio 30fps and iso max set to 400.
@@algersonvincent Im a GoPro Hero fan and i wait for Chris Rogers to post his new sick vids! Haha just thought it was funny! Ill admit he punk’d me on this one
got emmmmm lol. yea his videos are pretty dope. eventho i'm done buying gopros and looking for the insta360 x4 i'll always come back and admire his work @@TipsandTripsFC
@@TipsandTripsFC I myself can say the same thing: I am GoPro head too & the reason why I am subscribed to Chris Rogers’ channel. “Traveling the world for 2 Years!” My all time favourite vid of his. And that was shot mainly on the GoPro Hero 9, Black but also MAX and Hero 8 Black.
Yeah man, when I’m doing my fishing videos in the middle of summer! GoPro just keeps dying saying it’s overheating! So it’s totally my fault that my camera can’t keep up with me! And yeah your thumbnail is on point! I’m not buying it, good video by the way!
Best vide about GoPro 12 I've seen yet. Well done Chris. Loved the slomo footage. By the way, Chris: You can let GoPro know that you're the dude that made me buy one ;)
@@MrMountain707 Louis Rossmann talks in one of his videos about how the material used to seal the battery door will inevitably always fail eventually. He then explains that in the warranty, gopro says that "due to possible user error we cannot offer protection against water damage." From personal experience and from looking around the internet I am very inclined yo believe him. I had a hero 8 that I took under deep water many times over a 2 year period with no problems. I upgraded to the 11 and after about 5 months the camera was water damaged and bricked. It wouldn't be so bad if this was a single year problem, but this has been a problem since the 9, when they switched to the current form factor. After 4 iterations, it's very hard to believe that they aren't aware of the problem and that the water damage clause of the warranty is just their way of making consumers think that it is due to user error that their camera died and therefor will be more likely to buy a new one under the notion that if they don't mess up again everything will be fine. I've read comments about people having it break the very first time they take it in water.
This video convinced me to look no further and buy an retur hero 12 after beeing in holidays and the water resistant phone broke from... water ingress : | , I still own hero 2 mounts and they work with hero 12, Reson for abandoning the Hero 2 ware the convinience problems, like realizing home that was a water droplet on the lents and the hole video was compromised by it, take the card out to save the photos, and such. but not for the image quality. This marble has all convinience features and super image quality.
well, the gopro can do very little things, that an insta360 x4 cant. In contrast, the insta360 can do plenty of things the goPro cant. Even a sturdy smartphone case can basically replace the goPro nowadays in many situations, which is probably why sales hit rock bottom.
You're sponsored by GoPro right? Would you consider doing an honest side-by-side review and comparison between the GoPro 12 vs the Insta360 Ace Pro? Especially with the low light capabilities. Will be interesting to see if you even reply to this 🤔
So I feel like there are enough videos on this, Luke Bell probably made the best comparison. but I would like to do it this year if they both release newer cameras
I love how you made it a total piss- take. That was gold. Im so annoyed i bought my hero 12, too...after previously buying the 11..the 9....and the session ! #whenwillilearn lol😅
I just bought a GoPro Hero12 Black because of this video. I have a GoPro Hero5 I just took to Maui, and I know its mostly my fault, but the stability made me think "things have to have gotten better. Right?" Lol
you cheeky sod ... you got me :-D I just received one and going for holidays to Greece and I tho for a moment I made a bad decision about my choice ;-)
Absolutely LOVE this Chris!!! Not a truer word said. Too many fanboi's jumping on the band wagon for other cameras. GoPro have been at the forefront for a long time for a reason!!!
Hey chris. Im new to your channel. The review is awesome. Im into making driving videos and the only reason keeping me away from hero12 is the reviews about heating. Im going to record high resolution non stop. What you think. ?
@@Amadwaqas-h6f hey! Thanks so much! So the hero12 manages heat waaaaay better than the hero11! if you are mounting the camera inside a car with no airflow it could overheat over an extended period of time like 60minutes or longer. I know some people mount a GoPro infront of the air con and it records for way longer then! That all being said the new GoPro comes out tomorrow and would most likely have even more improvements on that! Hope that helps! :)
@ChrisRogers thanks for getting back. I was waiting for Gopro 13 release. I'm seriously thinking to go with it. What's your take on new heat sink in front of camera. I'm excited about GPS too. Regards.
@@Amadwaqas-h6f I’ll have my 13 review uploaded with next 12 hours! The battery is waaaay better! Camera just seems super solid and reliable. You would potentially want the 13 because of how amazing car footage looks with an anamorphic lens!
