When you go through Max's texts with Max's mom, her first listed texts are about her 18th birthday, on September 21. Given that the events of LiS1 are set in 2013, as shown in Max's first 4 diary entries, that means Max's birthday is September 21, 1995. Also- "double exposure" is a photography term involving superimposing two or more images. It's possible that timelines will overlap in some way. (Maybe something like what happens in Apple TV+'s Calls or Marvel's Multiverse of Madness will occur.)
In all fairness I prefer this over the first one cause there’s actual facial expressions now, the first one creeped me out with all of the face that never even moved around
I'm honestly gonna wait and see if Chloe is in the game if not it's gonna be a pass I don't want it. I also don't want it to be like Mikey in true colers where she only shows up in a video call or texts. I'm sorry they had 10 years to think on it and they know what we wanted.
Me too! I am super excited. And sad to see all the negative comments everywhere. The game is not out yet, so maby we should wait with the judgement? Also Max is back!!!! :D
Re: Max's age: based on an info sheet from the Japanese version of the Life is Strange site, I think she's 28, which would put the game set in the winter of 2023/24
Just saw the snippet of gameplay from the livestream and omigod. I'm so much more excited for this game now (Hannah Telle's voice is music to my ears, and I already love Safi so much. Max is Max, and still just as adorkable as ever. I love that they paid attention to how Max would develop over the years, and while she's more mature now, she's still quintessentially Max Caulfield. Do you think you'll do a reaction to the snippet of gameplay? (Also, omigod there's one thought she says late in the snippet that punched me right in the chest. I won't spoil it ;))
Who likes lists?! Man, I luv a good list! Bearing in mind that some of what I type here may be mooted within a few hours by the upcoming LiS:DE live event here-a-goes: 1) GREAT video - thanks Ship Wrecks!! (1st-timer here). 2) No one need worry about either choice being canonized as they both already are. The only ending that *isn't* canon is Pricefield being blown off the cliff by gale-force winds. 3) As someone who only ever goes Bae ('cept for a junk playthrough where I also saved Alyssa from NUTHIN') I *hope* this new game plays in the Bay canon, to give balance with the excellent comic books that played in the Bae canon - none of that fine work should be undone. Both endings are equally legit and I'll personally give $1,000* to each subscriber here if Deck Nine ever declares otherwise. [*$1,000 not guaranteed] 4) Regarding Chloe's involvement in this new story I'd be willing to bet $1,000 (see above asterisk) that before this past february was out Ashly Burch had laid down at least 20 minutes worth of dialogue for this project. I know this to be true because typing it burns my fingers like fire. 5) I'm SO over the moon that our favorite neuroscientist-songwriter-singer is back as our girl Max! I'd follow that voice anywhere! 6) If'n you like Hannah go here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wf_-b4DBxtU.html advance to 1:16:00 and smile hard. You're welcome. :-)
I was hoping for some third timeline shenanigans (where max and chloe never reconnected, santa monica, maxine) but the tweet by d9 saying "you tell me" to is chloe alive or dead has killed my hopes. Seems to mean theyre sticking with the lis1 story, but going forward in a boring way
I enjoy and appreciate your positive spin. Even though I don’t share your enthusiasm or optimism, I know you are a good fan and respect you greatly. So, if it’s horrible, I can blame you for helping Square Enix bait the hype. (I’m just kidding) 😂. Fingers crossed. 🤞
@@kelsey1467 My attachment to the characters is a lot more than gameplay based. The notion of what the trailer tags, “another max caulfield time adventure,” holds no appeal to me. Not that a multi dimensional Nancy Drew is not cool, but do your own thing. I’m disappointed the game is the wrong ending (bay), the wrong story ( not Pricefield. And let’s face it, Deck9 is excellent at building scenes, but they have struggled with stories to hang them off of), and the sales page already has a tiered structure. 50 to 80$. 30$US extra if you want to pet a cat. And then there are the recent claims of misogyny, grind, bad management, and layoffs surrounding this game at Deck9. Not to mention edge boys there trying to insert all sorts of weird stuff into the game. That last part does not bother me as much as the miserable culture portrayed. The feeling of the people leaving is that this is looked internally as a cash grab as well. I could go on, but there’s a lot to cause skepticism. Max has always been a product, but if this turns out to be fan-servicing of a cherished character (for me at least) in an UnReal engineered hipster Narnia , as I fear it might…I’ll be very sad. Could be good. Lots of positive things are pointed out in this vid. But I have little hope that what’s pointed out is little more than bait for a money grab. Max being the biggest lure.
@@KatanaGirlUTube i see your point but you might like these new characters its just to early to make an assumption for me and also is it wrong to say im happy that they dropped the episodic stuff i didn't hate it but i have really bad paitence and i like getting all the game at once you can't be suprised that clohe isn't in it regardless of what ending and you might like the new location although to be honest its a little too simallar but i kind of like the design of this place more than blackwell kind of reminds me of a church
@@kelsey1467 I’ve been yelling at the internet for the last few days, and while that’s helped, I’m certainly not going to argue with you that it’s too early. I’m disappointed in the real life issues at Deck9, the corporate heavy-handed treatment that Square Enix has shown with its IP and workforce, and most of all that while I can go off into my AO3 corner of the LiS fandom, square has decided that Bay is canon. That is the big one for me. That kind of undercuts all the people who chose BAE, and undermines completely the notion that the LiS universe is built on choice. I mean, there was a lot of illusion about that before, but not anymore, I guess.
@@KatanaGirlUTube I want to start off by saying this ISN'T MEANT TO BE A JAB lol I realized how it sounds after typing, but I find it interesting that you and generally a lot of people consider the bay ending to be wrong, when I always felt like they were trying to make it the more fulfilling ending while the game was still being made. The cutscene itself is more moving, and has a stronger sense of what the characters have become, despite being rather bleak. There's no way Chloe won't be in the game at all, developers have been hinting at your choice at the ending of LiS 1 still mattering in some capacity, but inevitably her part in the game would have to be rather short, that's the overall dillema with adapting a sequel to a choice-based game. I understand a lot of the concerns though, such as new writers handling max, and especially the shady behind the scenes news that have come out of D9. I'm also extremely against the idea of giving a STORY BASED game 2 weeks early access for paying way too much money, horrible practice, horrible idea. Either way, I'm patiently waiting to see how this whole thing plays out, nervously excited. Also, from reactions online, I don't understand why people are saying max looks different, hair theory has been proven right yet again. She looks extremely comparable to the remaster especially IMO!
Every installment in this series is a special baby that I love dearly, but like most, Max and Chloe are the ones I love most so I am praying this is a successful entry that respects the history and the choices and maybe ties things together? Anyways, thanks for giving positive reasons to hope for the best with this game.
I wish I saw this video earlier! I love the way you discuss things ^-^ The trailer actually came out on my birthday XD (Well, it was 4am the next day, but I'm still counting it, because I was still awake 🤭). I saw them drop the trailer completely out of nowhere, and woke my girlfriend up and we watched it together. I had seen all the leaks beforehand, and my girlfriend and I initially HATED the game. I personally don't like the fact that Max is a teacher, it feels like she's following in Jefferson's footsteps far too much. And Safi replacing Chloe as Max's new "closest friend" and the person that Max spends her time with? We both hate it. My girlfriend doesn't want to play it unless Chloe is in there (she is the Chloe to my Max, after all XD), whereas I do want to play it, but only because I'm a really big fan of Hannah Telle, and Max is a very important character to me, and has been for 8 years. But Max and Chloe's dynamic is equally as important to me. I am very intrigued by the story, though. While I don't have much faith in the soundtrack (I didn't enjoy most of TC's soundtrack, only a few songs, but I adore the main menu theme), I'm still HOPING that they get it right. I really dislike her hair (the part is far too exaggerated and distracting 😭) but I do really love her outfits, they feel very much like a matured version of her style. Also, I completely agree with the genius of the title! As a photography lover (and I also just love multiple exposures as a whole XD), the name makes me SO happy! The title was originally going to be Aperture, and I didn't feel like it fit with the concept as much. But Double Exposure is PERFECT!! I'm so glad they changed it XD I'm hoping that Chloe will be in it!
Then that wouldn't be called 'remaster'... that's an entire game remake from the ground up. DONTNOD, I don't think they can afford the time and finances to making it
you know i always thought sacrifice clohe was the right ending because she was supposed to die i don't think max could live with them killing most of a whole town its bad for her psyche also i wonder if the setting is too simillar like were in another school i like the winter setting i hope we see her parents in this game possibly one of my biggest complaints i felt more about clohe than max sorry
I saw a gameplay preview on this game and Safi asked Max what she was running from... why she came here ... what you said made sense with both endings 1. She saves Arcadia Bay, but can't live there anymore after losing Chloe. It breaks her heart knowing her bestie/girlfriend is dead. Too many memories, good bad sad and bittersweet. So she leaves. 2. If you sacrifice Arcadia Bay, Max and Chloe stay together for a few years or so. But the guilt and memories of what happened in Arcadia Bay is too much for her to handle, and she goes off on her own to start over. A moment where she flashbacks to memories of the storm implies she cannot escape her past
I came to the same conclusion. Everything is screwed because Max cheated death in that first scene with Chloe and Nathan. The rest of the series is the world snapping back at the imbalance created. The only logical fix is to allow to happen what should have happened in episode 1.
