Very nice video man thank you I'm a French guy who currently lives in Manchester , England and now I'm trying to move to Canada to start a new life with my family and its true that Ive been brainwashed with so many videos explaining how good Alberta is So its nice to hear about an other province and after hearing what you said Im going to educate myself a bit more on Saskatchewan and who knows you might be the trigger of an entire family moving to Saskatchewan 😂 Keep up the good work

Hey man I appreciate you watching and thanks for the feedback - I'm always interested to hear about people moving to Canada. When you arrive I would definitely recommend the prairie region in general because the cities have great amenities and it's a lot cheaper. Vancouver and Toronto are cool but way too expensive and you can always visit them, you can get surprisingly cheap flights between cities. Montreal is a beautiful city and a bit more affordable in terms of properties/rentals but lower wages overall. Alberta has a lot to offer but so does Saskatchewan, a lot depends on what size of city you'd prefer living in/around. All the best to you and your family with the move, cheers!

I've noticed more Albertans moving to SK for housing prices, and because they like the rural vibe. As a SK guy, I've always felt like Calgary is the spiritual Capital of the Prairies. We are basically the same in vibe, but Calgary is just a lot bigger and produces a lot of oil revenue. A lot of the people in AB are from SK as well, as many of our young people have been moving there over the years.
@00jknight

SK definetly has the 'purest prairie vibe'. Definetly. I think depending on who you are and what you want at that point in your life, you'll prefer AB to SK or vice versa.

The sprawl in Calgary and Edmonton is pretty gross to me though. Also, dont sleep on Medicine Hat! That's basically SK but in AB as far as I'm concerned.

In Saskatoon in June and July on the weekends the city is dead, everyone is at the Lake. I never realized how unique the lake culture is here. We just call it 'The Lake', no matter what Lake your going to. I see a lot of AB plates around some of the western lakes. Thats a pretty huge sell to me. Cabin ownership is a huge attraction.

Reason #5 Water, I agree with completely! Summer in Saskatchewan is great - hot and sunny with a few awesome thunderstorms! Tons of lakes n beaches to choose from. I lived in Alberta for years and found many drove +6hrs to Okanagan pulling expensive boats to go have a big ego contest in BC for the wknd. I mean, if thats your thing sure, but SK is far more laid back like you stated in Reason #1.

Scrolling through RU-vid I noticed the title of you video and thought this should be fun to pick apart. I grew up in Saskatoon, have resided in Edmonton since the late 70's, and I have to admit your take on the subject was fair and well researched. Still enjoy go back to visit family and friends at a much more laid back pace. Rarely much traffic and easy to get around, and all the amenities one could want. Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching! I have grown to really appreciate Saskatchewan over the years and I visit once a year - I'm a bit of an city lover in general and I spend most of my time in Saskatoon and a little bit of Regina. I think Saskatoon is a real gem in particular and it really has a disproportionate amount of culture given it's size. Cheers!

Saskatoon sucks as we get bipolar weather and freezing temps at night in the middle of june(good luck growing peppers in the ground outside). No really good lakes close by with diefenbaker having almost no fish with wind hitting you all day. Same with black strap no fish really and the water is just sea weed haven. The best places for fishing are all up north with clouds of bugs everywhere. Our depression per person is through the roof and only growing when more move here and experience what were given.

Saskatoons great! And as far as freezing temperatures In June?? If that has happened, it’s an anomaly. It’s very rare for it to ever freeze past the May long weekend.
@markanthony3275

And how many part time jobs do you have to work to be able to live there? Are you collecting coupons for everything you buy? No one has any money in Saskatoon...they have it...but they won't spend it. Because the great depression was only 85 years ago and they can't take any chances LOL!

Alberta - 2 NHL teams; Saskatchewan - not even an AHL team to be found, one bush-league football team that has won 4 Grey Cups in over 110 years of existence. Alberta - Banff & Jasper; Saskatchewan - Southern half of province desolate, save for one big truck stop in the form of Regina

Both cities look interesting ,but from your videos I'd say Saskatoon looks like a great place. Both warrant a visit for sure! I love Edmonton but as I get older and my fist game deteriates I worry about the in your face social disorder,crime and violence, Which I've experienced a lot personally in my 57 years
@strangenorth

Well honestly you have some experience training with Frank Lee so I'm sure even at your age you'd handle business fine with most sketchy characters lol, I hear you though - I've noticed an increase in concerning elements throughout the city, especially central core. Yeah if you've never been to the cities in SK I'd highly recommend it. I much prefer Saskatoon over Regina overall and it's only 5 hours from Edmonton!

fastest growing province right now and Edmonton and Calgary metro populations are marching steadily towards 2 million after being "little" cities for decades. I personally love the size of Saskatoon and Regina, plus properties are considerably less expensive and increasingly these cities have better and better restaurants/pubs/coffee shops/shopping etc.

Sask is good there’s just nothing to do and mid agree Alberta is more scenic taxes are lower also but it 100% has its downfalls crime is on the rise in a bad way here too in the larger cities
